http://youtu.be/ABOm1NON_yM

Eyewitness News

BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- The tale of the police dashcam video has now helped clear a Bloomfield, New Jersey man who faced a multitude of criminal charges, including eluding police and assault.

Investigative Reporter Sarah Wallace obtained the dashcam tapes, and has spoken exclusively with the 30-year old DJ who was looking at years in prison.

It was quite a turnabout, all the criminal charges against Marcus Jeter have been dismissed, and two Bloomfield police officers have been indicted for falsifying reports, and one of them, for assault.

A third pleaded guilty early on to tampering. It's all thanks to those dashcam tapes. It's the video that prosecutors say they never saw when the pursued criminal charges against 30 year-old Marcus Jeter . In the video, his hands were in the air. He was charged with eluding police, resisting arrest and assault. One officer in the video can be seen throwing repeated punches.

Sarah Wallace: "It this tape hadn't surfaced?"
Marcus: "I'd be in jail."

A disgrace to the uniform

Where is their integrity. This is a sick, corrupt group of criminals. Put them behind bars. This is getting to be an epidemic of massive proportions.

the uniform is the disgrace

...

Agree, the uniform IS the disgrace

because the uniform leads to the "mis-understanding" by officers that they have special magic fairy powers that otherwise would not exist!

This is the polices state

Love Liberty, be Vigilant

Faith in God will prevail all things!

I think the idea

of requiring all cops to wear video cameras should happen. It would stop a lot of this b.s.

I'm soooo glad this young man was vindicated, and happily surprised some justice was served.

I would

I would add something but then I would get put on a LIST OR SOMTHING one never knows ;)

But, cops do some good things too

LOL, and some people want to excuse these heinous acts because a few cops will do a few good things once in awhile.

Wake up! They are a collective group of thugs or thug enablers. One good deed now and then can not make up for this kind of corruption and thuggery. And good cops let this crap slide and do nothing about it. So there are really NO good cops.

These brutal acts will not stop until people who defend cops because "they are individuals, not a collective" stop being stupid. Their cries of "not a collective" enables this behavior as much as any "good" cop does.

Only Two Indicted?

The entire intern@l @ff@irs division should be indicted. Nothing will ch@nge until cops become too frightened to we@r their uniforms in public.

Just awful and disgusting

What was the purpose of driving into oncoming traffic and crashing into the front of his car?

Sadly this happens to too many people and it needs to stop.

So only two guys are being charged here???

And the third cop still gets to retire???
What about the prosecutor not producing all evidence.
And if the evidence was withheld - who going down for that?

And why was the list of charges against the officers so small?

Once again we get all excited something is being done - but in reality nothing is really being done. There should be at least 10 people losing their jobs(including retirement) and/or going to jail. Yet only two stand there with minimal BS charges.

as above so below ...

as above so below, as below so above .. just like US Foreign Policy in action.

Corrupt cops facing music

that's a sight to behold. I hope it sticks.

Very lucky.

Screw prison - he's lucky to be alive. I'm surprised that the other 2 cops didn't immediately start shooting once the criminal cop started shouting "stop going for my gun".

Proof

That the use of 'Stop Resisting' is just playacting for the dash cams.

When a cop says 'stop resisting' one can nearly always interpret that to mean 'I'm going to initiate the use of force, and try to cover it up.'

meekandmild's picture

when they yell 'Stop Resisting'

you start yelling "quit trying to rape me".

Hang a couple of them.

Think they'll get the message. Don't mess with the zombie wolf.

Due process and all.

Free includes debt-free!

this is never going to change

this is never going to change because the public dont have the balls or the brains enough to knock cops out. plain and simple, if there is no repercussions for acts like this it wont stop. Mark my words but if this happens around me i may die but im done complying im going to knock mother fuckers out. and i dont care if the government reads this comment. sorry for tainting the dp

I totally agree.

We are suffering largely under a sort of domestic terrorist occupying force which masquerades as "our government". We are indeed in so many ways hostages on our own soil.

The time for preemptive strikes against these terrorist "police" is here, and the offenders among them should be targeted in their homes and/or out on the streets and neutralized. So, too, should the "leaders" who empower them in their commission of such heinous crimes against the citizens at their mercy, to whom they are sworn (fraudulently, apparently) to protect. The People must retake for themselves the remedy of self defense. No justice, no peace.

There's a war on--one of domestic terrorism by "authorities" against citizens--and we're under violent attack; we're just not fighting back yet. We wait in vain for corrupt government and largely impotent / rigged legal systems to deliver justice, but it rarely comes.

The individual must take responsibility, and we need to be willing to reacquaint ourselves with the notion of personal sacrifice for the larger virtues of Freedom and Justice; for as things stand now, we have all been effectively divided (each to his/her own corner/couch to watch his/her favorite TV shows after a long day spent merely trying to make ends meet... and lulled into the false belief that the individual is powerless to change things for the better), and the conquering is fast underway.

Each abusive and/or murderous police thug allowed to walk represents another nail in the coffin of Freedom in our society, as the fascist totalitarian state continues to develop all around us--seemingly be accident or through disparate ill circumstances, but--in cold fact--by deliberate design. Ours is a controlled society, directed (and ever more centrally) by largely infiltrated systems of authority. We must resist this conditioning and instead begin to condition our abusers away from their antisocial, psychopathic behavior. Regrettably, only when they, their ground-level minions, and all enabling participants in between start turning up dead or disfigured will this trend toward un-freedom, anti-liberty, and public, essentially government-condoned attacks and executions of defenseless citizens begin to be reversed.

It must be made personal for those who abuse us, as abstract protest does very little. History shows us this again and again. (When--really--has a bully ever been *talked* out of bullying? Alas, the Jedi mind trick can only work on a creature with a brain!)

Extreme? Not entirely. Our nation's founders resorted to violence in the face of far less injustice than we face today. Police-on-citizen violence is a NATIONAL EPIDEMIC of domestic terrorism which must be eliminated by any and all means necessary. Think nationally, and act locally.

I just love it.

"Stop resisting" has become the phrase they all use now just for the show of their cameras hoping the cameras are inconclusive so they can continue to brutalize citizens. I hope they see not one day less then this man was facing. In fact I would support a law that makes these animals liable for a life in prison if they, under the color of authority, try to railroad a citizen.

Stunning

Sentencing: Cops like that should just be turned loose in a ring surrounded by "law abiding citizens".

EVERYONE should have dash cams

and rear cams as well. You just never know...

Wow I don't know whether to

Wow I don't know whether to say this is an awesome story or awful story. Thank God the rotten liars didn't delete or destroy the dashcam. I don't think that cops should have the ability to delete or even access the dashcams.

always record and have backup software in case the pig cops tries to delete the evidence. does anyone know any good programs for this?

There are several apps for Android and iPhone

Qik is one of them, Police Tape (from the ACLU) is another. The great part about these apps is they are streaming the upload while the video is being taken, rather than uploading when done. That way if a criminal grabs your phone and destroys it, you still have most of the evidence later.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

Dashcam wasn't deleted most likely due

to the fact that maybe the cops weren't as well connected. They "mysteriously" go missing or deleted quite often, that is of course unless the evidence benefits the cops.

Wecolme to USA normally lost by the prosecutor

very few that have honesty on there side.
cop's/prosecutors want to say how good they are on crime.
so they often embellish at the very least
they love to win cases.
and unforgettably they don't get elected unless they have a winning record.

Truth is something that left the US court system.
Sad
it really has to do with getting money out of politics
