What DPers are Eating - February 2014

Dear Daily Paul, As you know, any Amazon.com purchases made through the DP's Amazon gateway return a commission to the Daily Paul at no cost to you. The gateway is at dailypaul.com/amazon, on the main blue menu bar above, and can also be entered via any of the links below, or via books on the bookshelf. The commissions help keep the site going.

In case you haven't heard, Amazon is more than books. In honor of Ed's Chow Session thread, here is a little peek at what DPers are eating (and reading!) from Amazon this month.

No Gary Taubes?

Good calories, bad calories? Why we get fat?

Been doing the no carb thing since the beginning of the year and already down 12lbs pretty easily. I bet $1200 on healthywage.com that I would lose 30lbs by 2015 and so far I'm doing very very well.

I lost 70 lb within one year

I lost 70 lb within one year switching to Primal/Paleo, almost effortlessly. You'll get to your goal, no problem.

pur gum!

Yes, it is very good! Good for you for being a distributor! I also did not think to try and find it on Amazon, and only one store in my area carries it (so far).

Just started reading

America's Lost Opportunity. Wow!

May I offer a book?

Please read 'The China Study', I have insisted to all my friends and family that they read this book. I am not one to tell people how to live, what to eat etc. But I am a strong proponent of education as a foundation for life choices. This book is not a diet book, it does not tell you how or what to eat, but I can almost guarantee that this book will change your life, and it may cause you to insist to your friends and family that they read it.

PLEASE remind us to go

PLEASE remind us to go through your website. Yes, we should remember, but with work, kids, politics, etc, we forget. Especially remind us around Christmas, I did all of my shopping there, and it was a breeze.

I just ordered organic dried fruit, organic canned corn, and organic coconut oil. I cook with it, but based upon the reviews, this seems like some sort of magical beauty treatment. I will let you know!

Thanks for the reminder.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.

The GardenSpouter comes with 2 oz certified organic alfalfa seed. The pictures on the box are alfalfa sprouts, so YES, the Garden Sprouter LOVES alfalfa. Look how dense that is, nearly every seed sprouted, and really, All you do is rince everyday, and since these guys are stackable, you can have rotating sprout crops, or sprout more than one kind of seed.

I noticed some folks are talking about dirt, which I use on trays for sunflower seeds.

Teff is smaller than alfalfa and has more protine.. I need to try it deep fried (my latest pre-lent indulgence.

Garden Sprout.. seriously. You and Sam will LOVE it. If you're into sprouts, this is the perfect sprouter. If you ever see it for sale, buy a lottery ticket. ;D

Why aren't people DIY

Like ginseng for example why aren't people digging it themselves or order seed grow your own tame ginseng. Or planting plants or getting them from nature or buying from someone who does harvest them.

I dig some every year for my family.
You only get a small percentage of the root of active ingredients when you buy pills.

I just don't understand it.
It is like buying honey from the store you know they are allowed to add syrup or other fillers why not buy from a person that keeps bees
and get the real thing as nature intended.

You dig up wild ginseng?

Our State was stripped of wild ginseng because too many people did just that. (very rare now)

The Michigan Ginseng Act was passed in 1994 to regulate the harvest, sale, and distribution of American Ginseng in Michigan. This act covers both cultivated and wild ginseng, and makes it unlawful to take American ginseng from the wild. Those interested in farming ginseng should contact the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) for more information.

Yes there is a season in Ky

When the berries come on so it seeds back and we dig only bigger sang so the small is always growing.

Are you serious about that act in MI?
It wouldn't stop me from digging it up though,if I could find it here.

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence
