The bigger crime is attempting to justify what is indefensible.

This moocher and all of these apologists should be thrown-out.

Hilarious and sad

Pathetic to see good people who are nothing more than slaves at microphones pleading to their masters; wanting their children to be indoctrinated at lower rates, but not even knowing they are indoctrinating their children to be slaves.

They think they are paying taxes for good education, when in reality, they are paying taxes because they are forced and threatened to. It is kind of like arguing that a car jacker is making too much when he steals your car and then sells it ... "How unfair! He just sold my car for $100,000 when it is only worth $10,000... unfair car jacker unfair!... you should only sell my car for $10,000 when you steal it from me!"

is where a citizen's arrest is warranted. The local citizens actually have a duty to arrest him.

Centralized power always leads to corruption, theft, murder and swindle. Always..........

Where were these parents during the budget hearings?

If nobody pays attention until the money has been paid it's their own fault for not caring enough to ask. It's not like they secretly slipped the guy some cash. I understand the outrage and I'm not saying any of this is right, I'm just saying that people need to actually pay attention to government on all levels, especially local.

Where were they?

Probably remedial home schooling their kids.

BEST case scenario!

Pretty good ROI in Livestock Management, btw! In quick easy math

Pretty good Return-On-Investment in Livestock Management, btw!

$660,000+/year for "superintendence" of only three high schools totaling 600 or so students...

In quick easy math, that's $1,100+/year and per head of the herd.

Not bad, my man!

Hey, in all fairness, good thing for the tax payer he wasn't "superintending", say, 10 high schools of 1,000 student heads each! O Fortuna!

Let's face it, could have been worse, these lucky folks have avoided paying $11,000,000/year - whaaaat?! and they have the guts to complain?!

I'm willing to bet...

just by his "like Haiti when I took over" comment
that he has ABSOLUTELY SCREWED the district into massive bond pledges..
check the 'books' since he took over and find out
what's been promised to whom and how much.

Must see documentary

If you have kids in school, or not, and you have not yet seen the documentary "The Cartel" - it is a must.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

pitchforks for the crony capiltalists

That is the only thing they understand. The entire town needs to march on the board and force his resignation. "I've listened carefully and " you are all cattle, nothing more. Be off with you. That is what he really was saying.

These elite people will never give up their cushy positions voluntarily. The citizens have to force it, not by force of arms, but by force of will. The people can still speak if informed. When informed, wow, anger, real righteous anger. The elite better be very careful. Tar and feathered appears to be quite the painful way to go.

Where exactly was the "faces parents" part?

Not that this vid doesn't speak volumes for greed in America- but I musta missed the "faces parents" part of your headline.

Maybe he was cut?

Apparently, he didn't have much to say to counter their reaction on that...

... "detail" ?

I heard only them.

Or was he cut?

Yep! CronyCapitalism!

Our Superintendant receives nearly $370,000 dollars. I think that's outrageous. Most of the time he's in meetings while, our school district has had to make cuts everywhere other than his salary and benefits.

for letting this happen in the first place. And, I agree that they should have a criminal investigation begin IMMEDIATELY!

What bureaucratic pukes.

My old Neighborhood

I own a home in this district. Centenela Valley Unififed HS District. We moved away when my son entered 5th grade to avoid the high schools. This district is ranked in the bottom decile. Neighboring district is ranked 3rd in the state.

I've met one of the school board members. She couldn't even get unredacted copies of attorney bills for the boards attorney. Total corruption/imcompetence by teacher's union backed board members. Hope county/state/US attorney takes a deep hard look at the books and some of these crooks go to jail.

Happy to see one of my former cohorts (A Hawthorne activist) in the background.

This is why I vote against every tax levy

I don't trust the bastards with anything.

School Superintendents - CEO's of Public Education

The primary education system in this country has a adopted the private corporate management business model to further justify the exorbitant cost of your children's education.

In New York State, many school superintendents makes more money in salary and benefits than Governor Andrew Cuomo. This oftentimes includes the payment of lifetime healthcare insurance premiums paid by the school district depending upon how savvy the superintendent's agent negotiates the private contract with the school board on behalf of his/her client.

What does a school superintendent do to earn such a ridiculous compensation plan? They are polished administrators trained in education speak to assure the parents of the district the polices they enact and the bloated financial budget for the district they demand will benefit their children and turn them into high achievers well positioned to enter college. The reality is these lofty goals are rarely met or the metrics that measure student performance are cleverly lowered to show progress in learning.

Superintendents are nothing more than overpaid public relations spokespersons. The principals of each of the schools in the district all have graduate degrees in education and are more than capable of managing their own school budgets. They could meet with the school board to hammer out an overall district budget instead of a some high level bureaucrat who makes broad policy that has little in the way of meaningful substance.

Your primary interface with the public education system is the school in the district where your child attends. If you have an issue you talk with the teacher or someone in the administrative staff on up to the principal of the school. If you are still not satisfied direct your concern to the school board since you elected them as your representatives.

The idea of an overarching district administration is an overrun in cost that parents can no longer afford. It's time to significantly reduce the size of it along with the paper pushers who make up the staff and contribute little to the academic needs of the children.

"We need to spend more money on education."

"It's for the kids and the future of our country."

So go the arguments for raising taxes to fund public schools, where school administrators often are the highest paid "pubic servants" in the community.

Youtube, finally found it.
