The Epic Gun Control Testimony You’ve Been Waiting For: ‘The Constitution Did Not Guarantee Public Safety, It Guaranteed Liberty

"Boomer" Steed from Vernon, Connecticut probably had the best testimony of the day. The man is an original. This is an American!

Joe Marcellais

“Adam Lanza commits a crime, and I’m here to gr0vel and plead for my rights and explain to you that my firearms are kept safely?” he asked rhetorically. “I keep hearing the word “solution”… you’re not going to find a solution, it doesn’t exist. You can’t find a broad brush solution to evil.”

“You’ll get a better handle on it maybe in a dictatorship where they just go in and take all your guns and lock-down, and they’ve got big brother watching all over you everywhere, they’ve got cameras on every corner, cameras in every neighborhood,” the Democrat continued.

“Well, we have some of that going on right now,” Steed interrupted.

Mikutel explained that Connecticut doesn’t want to go down that route and so it makes lawmakers’ job more “difficult.”

“The reason that your jobs are becoming so difficult is because you’re coloring outside the lines of constitutional parameters,” Steed shot back. “That’s the bottom line. You are trying to marriage up public safety with constitutional rights. The Constitution did not guarantee public safety, it guaranteed liberty. And sometimes what comes with liberty is tragedy, unfortunately.”

a true and intelligent American

speaking to a den of vipers.

Most all of what proceeded from the mouths of the legislature scum's mouths was lies.

War is an instrument entirely inefficient toward redressing wrong; and multiplies, instead of indemnifying losses.
Thomas Jefferson

Too many lawmakers think they need to pass new laws.

A legislator's job is to stand watch for Liberty, Not pass new laws. We have enough laws to last us a million years.
I wish the founders had stipulated in the constitution that all laws, with the exception of about four very basic laws, must be reviewed and renewed, individually, every year, or else THEY EXPIRE.

Congratulate yourself...the process has slowed down?

That first guy who responded sounded a lot like he was saying "I'm only going to put the tip of it in" or "This will only hurt for a little while".

Can anyone find

Can anyone find out who the councilman speaking is? The man who said we "didn't want cameras on every corner". What is his name? I would like to send him an email regarding the NSA leaks from Snowden. Has the man been living in a hole?

That a Beautiful quote

‘The Constitution Did Not Guarantee Public Safety, It Guaranteed Liberty'

I have one thing to say this guy know his !@#$ing Bill of Rights.

More power to you brother.

Thank You for sharing!

All these so called people trying to take away our liberties piece by piece need to remember they will come for there liberties next!!I hope they stop this before its to late.
Always remember and keep in the back of our minds....

“First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—
and there was no one left to speak out for me.”
― Martin Niemöller

I wonder if they realize that they are also chipping away from there liberties at the same time???

Republic, Republic, Republic!!!!!

Article IV Section IV
The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.

Perhaps where they get the concept of these laws is from the exact same that guarantees a republican form of government, since it also say it shall protect them against "domestic violence." One thing is certain though, this is not a democracy.

"Liberty is the soul's right to breathe, and when it cannot take a long breath laws are girded too tight. Without liberty, man is a syncope." -Henry Ward Beecher

Protect us from domestic violence?

99% of all violence I have ever seen has been initiated by 'law enforcement'. From my experience 'law enforcement' are the most dangerous individuals in our communities and the single largest threat to security that exist without question.

Right behind 'law enforcement' on the threat level is the prosecuting attorneys. These individuals think they have some extra-lawful authority to have a monopoly on justice and have a monopoly on force. Their belief in their own fantasies and the sheople's ignorance of law has turned domestic violence from a crime into how law is enforced.

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...

And right down there with prosecuting attorneys and police are

the scum judges. I hope they all feel the pain they brought to others

They permitted that fine gentleman to get it off of his chest. However, it was also a direct warning not to impede the governments power and objective.

Per the subject line: It Guaranteed Liberty, not Guarantees Liberty; as in past tense.

The Constitution

acknowledged our liberty.
