10 Million in buried gold, rumor is it was stolen from the mint, (Government may get it all)

And you thought Wells Fargo was going to take it, LOL A California couple who found a stash of buried gold coins valued at $10 million may not be so lucky after all. The coins may have been stolen from the US Mint in 1900 and thus be the property of the government, according to a published report.

The San Francisco Chronicle's website reported that a search of the Haithi Trust Digital Library provided by Northern California fishing guide Jack Trout, who is also a historian and collector of rare coins, turned up the news of the theft. That's beyond disgusting!

What does the good book say in Romans 13? Render unto Cesar, that which is Cesar's?

Ha, ha ha!!! Now the idiots are REALLY getting...

...what they deserve.

Even the fish wouldn't get caught if only it kept its mouth shut.

They should have sold it one coin at a time - cash only - no names - no other info - "thank you" - out the door.

I wouldn't tell this particular Federal Government

If I'd have found a peanut and it was rotten.

What did these people expect anyway? Egads.

That's it - gold is done. Robberies happen all the time.

Whether it's a watch, a necklace, or a secret underground vault, gold is very easy to steal, transport, and conceal.

Yeah...sure it was. Can they

Yeah...sure it was. Can they prove it? Finders keepers losers! I'd tell em to pound sand.

Our government:

"They found what??? How much is it? Ok ok, tell the couple it was stolen then take it from them. Then we just need to melt it down and FedEx it to Germany. Tell them that they can look at the rest later but here is a sample..."

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

the government must be

the government must be desperate beyond belief.

Not Desperate,

My guess going to Eric's private safe to be dispersed later.

Boy, do I wish it had been me instead. I guarantee there would not be a peep about it in the news.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

Is anyone really surprise ?

This is government. How else can they get money. I'm thinking how the fuck did they not realize almost 300$ million in 1900 dollar prices went missing, and there was not a peep. That beats bonnie and clyde and yet we have never heard of this.

Maybe they can get storage fees for all those years?

Lesson learned I suppose. Find some buried treasure on your property, zip it.

Melt 'em down and gold bar

Melt 'em down and gold bar 'em.

they probably would have eventually got busted unless

they sold them for bitcoin first and then converted it slowly back to fiat or back to gold/silver.
