Humor me for a moment I am genuinely curious what everyone thinks.

Why will you be voting in the next Presidential Primary?

 photo ztz9Y_zpsd88b84a0.jpg

I suppose that's an assumption on my part but for all practical purposes I think its safe to say that many of you will.

I will not be participating anymore. I don't see the point of wasting any time on negative outcomes when there is a much larger opportunity to embrace something much more exciting; the awakening of the human being.

Before you turn away, please keep reading and consider my perspective on things.

When I was young and being indoctrinated into Americanism I was told voting is an honor and a privilege. Not voting is an insult to those who serve in our military, who have served — and died — to protect our freedoms and our way of life. It is my civic duty and responsibility as a United States citizen.

Really? Perhaps back when we lived in a more romantic time.

Let me get right to it.

When Ron Paul ran both in 2008 and 2012 I believed. I signed right up! I wanted it so bad. I worked tirelessly to inform and recruit. I became a delegate in my county and even was elected to vote at the state conventions both times. I painted the town with Ron Paul signs. I worked with the campaign by using my trucks from my business to transport collateral and other equipment. (and I had fun doing it without regret)

But I witnessed something while being part of this experience. I witnessed a greater force above all the money raised, excitement surrounding the movement and the political evangelism.

I witnessed an evil apparatus working behind the scenes to ensure things remained status quo and you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Like you I lived through the suspicions of voter fraud and Diebold machines. But lets look beyond this because what has happened is much more despotic.

We now know that the NSA has not only virtual visibility to every single electronic expression on this earth but has the ability to assassinate, sever communication and fragment opposition neutralizing any threat to its existence.

Do you honestly believe Rand Paul running on a platform that directly opposes this will make it?

It will never happen and all you have to do is consider the history.

I will start with this:

Jan 21, 2012 ... As both CNN and Politico are reporting, the Republican Party of Iowa has officially declared Rick Santorum the winner of the 2012 Iowa Caucus ...
People like to pick horses...winning horses.

"A strong showing in Iowa also sends a message to the national party leaders. Each party seeks a strong contender for the White House, and a good response from Iowans helps cement a candidate's chances to win the national nomination."

"Ron Paul Wins Iowa 16 Weeks Later" After Mitt Romney is declared the presumed nominee.

In Louisiana he gets screwed out of delegates:

Ron Paul campaign files second appeal for Louisiana delegates

But MAINE-ly, Ron Paul Got Screwed

I personally witnessed the apparatus at work in Michigan:

and then this:

At the Republican National convention they changed the rules to seat delegates.

Then we get this news:

So here is where were at.

Why vote?

But I have good news. We can beat them if we don't participate. Who are they? They are men and women like you and me.

Our efforts will be better served at enlightenment and awaking the human spirit. The more people we can awaken the greater the probability of real change.

There is a positive shift going on and I am excited about whats to come.

Don't participate in the casino where the house always wins.

Let's create something new...something good!

The Algorithms can only work if...

The Voting Machine Algorithms can only work if it is a close race. An overwhelming number on one side of the vote CAN be achieved to overrule the Algorithms. This number is very possible if the candidate has support from the "on the fence" voters from all the four major parties. The GOP, the Libertarians, the Independents and the Democrats. This truly is possible, but if no one votes, it WILL be Hillary.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

I'm going to try to be gentle here.

Please forgive me if I fail. I am rather blunt.

Your personal experiences matter to you, but they do not have an effect on the outcomes of the actions you are asking about.

Let me pose a question to you. What if you are wrong, and voting does count? What have you done by not voting? Handed the nation to the liberals? The welfare junkies? These are the possible outcomes.

Now lets assume that you are right, and the system is rigged, and your vote does not matter. What have you lost? 15 minutes?

So the real question is are you willing to do the bare bones minimum to support freedom, or are you just going to stew over past experiences?

That is a question that only you can answer.

Even if they come out and tell me that the polls are rigged, I'm voting. If they change the vote, then I may or may not be able to do something about it, but if I don't vote, then all I can do is to accept the outcome. Get ready for Hillary!

If voting doesnt work, then how did Ron or Rand ever get elected

If they can completely control the elections then
1. They wouldn't spend so much money
2. They wouldn't sweat about it so much
3. and no one considered "undesirable" would ever get elected.

So Paul didn't win the presidency...so what? Hearts and minds have to come first. The ideas are the thing. Until people start to get it nothing will change. Ukip was not a popular party in England. They have always been in the establishments side. But here we are. The minds of the average Uk citizen have begun to evolve. Now Ukip is winning elections.

So is the game rigged? Yes. But I don't think it's a lock. We should keep trying for as long as it takes. Our voice matters and we should at least speak our mind on election day. At least not make it easy on them.

But why do you care what other people do with their time?

I can't control

what others do. It is a matter of principle for me. If there is a candidate worth voting FOR. I will make the effort. If not I won't. Whether the vote is rigged or not is out of my control.

You da man, Dex!!

By participating in what we know is a farce, we are giving legitimacy to that farce. Perhaps, like teeth, if we ignore them they'll all go away!
Now, how do we get another 200 million people to wake the hell up and get with our new program?

Silence isn't always golden....sometimes it's yellow.

"The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure, when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them." - Patrick Henry

I substantially agree with you but...

Ron and Rand Paul have done more to publicize the new liberty movement than all the other forms of political activism combined. This is no small thing. This is because they have run for political office as Republicans and not primarily as Libertarians. Me,... I am pushing the idea that we need to change the voting paradigm so that all minority political viewpoints can be presented. This way it's attractive to everyone who feels marginalized by the current two-party duopoly fraud being foisted upon everyone. If people have a realistic chance to vote for what they actually want without losing the opportunity to stop what they object to, then the political logjam of modern politics can finally be broken. In my mind, NOTHING ELSE WILL DO!

If we want an effective choice, we must change the voting paradigm from the broken, one voter, one vote, 'first past the post' paradigm, to either (http://rangevoting.org) and/or (http://www.fairvote.org/instant-runoff-voting#). With the present system, we are all so trapped into stopping the worse evil, over the lesser evil, that there is never an opportunity to vote for what we ACTUALLY WANT! With the alternative voting systems offered, one can vote for what one actually believes in, without sacrificing the opportunity to block the greatest evil that you fear most. Voting for Hope rather than out of fear! Sounds fairly obvious to me.

I am one of those wacky people who believe people own themselves. That the right to be left alone is pretty much an absolute. That people should think and take action that serves their own self interest while respecting other people's similar boundaries. For this I am often called an elitist. Rather than rule by Philosopher Kings (which IS elitist), I believe in each of us practicing ruling ourselves, and I would advise that each of us be well satisfied if we can rule our own life well.

"I am an advocate for anarchy, and in opposition to chaos, because I advocate replacing all coercively imposed 'law' with individually, voluntarily, created 'law'." Rules without Rulers. In most every context, a coercively imposed contract is not considered legally binding at all,... with the state itself as the universally recognized exception to common morality in the name of preserving morality. As to the means,... so go the ends. I am a radical for the premise that respect flows from admiration rather than from fear.

I also strongly believe that the Non-Aggression Principle necessarily implies as a corollary that there can exist "No Sovereign Immunity" at all for the NAP to stand. It has consistently been my experience that while most uninitiated folks regard NAP as sweet, quaint, and naive, when introduced, in combination with NSI, it actually makes practical sense to them for the first time. You might try starting political discussions with NSI rather than NAP and see the results for yourself. What would most people give to live in a world without the Nuremberg defense being considered viable anymore?

"The dearest ambition of a slave is not liberty, but to have a slave of his own."
Sir Richard Burton

"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

You got it Dex

Voting is an act of aggression.

In a way, it's worse because the voter is too much of a coward to steal and enslave directly and do his own dirty work.

But this absolutely does not mean that we do nothing. We do as you suggest and create something viable. It is time for the civilized to create civilization within an environment very hostile to it.

All it takes for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.

This is why I honestly believe we do the Lords work, Christian or not. It was the responsibility of the Christian to work behind the scenes and fight against evil. We, as Christians, have failed in our task and it is now the job of anyone who is willing, and it is daunting, I understand. Normally a Christian would accept the fact that they will be hated and scorned and basically thrown under the bus, in fact, this is what baptism is about. So I get it when we feel overwhelmed, and I regret even more, that at times there are non-Christians who stick it out longer than I can.

Those of us who are left to fight this fight, need to understand what we are up against, a never ending foe, who will constantly strike us down. We will win a battle, and lose 2 more on fields we didn't show up on. They are always one step ahead of us, often times because the forces of good refuse to fight dirty. You will find the forces of evil is always united, and good is always bickering on the right course of action. It can be discouraging. What would happen if good men stopped showing up though?

2012 show me something interesting. We on this community wielded power I never thought possible today. Many times, our talks, arguments, and suggestions made it into mainstream news. We at the dailypaul, were a centerpiece for the world to see, and with so many people from so many countries sharing our views I realized something. The closer evil gets to its end goal, the more they stand to lose, and if they ever lose control, we have a real chance at 100% world freedom. I believe the internet is the key. All it would take, is good men in key positions, and of course we would then have to protect the positions and those men.

This is why I do not fear evil getting stronger. The complacent only act that way until it affects them personally, then they will fight back. More and more people will wake up as it gets worse. Like all of us when we woke up, we started studying, and evil requires a dumb populace. Until then, it is up to us to hold them off as best we can, and to hold and take ground where we can.

All it takes for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.

Don't Kid Yourself ...

... AND don't stand down. Celebrate the opportunity to educate and draw attention to what matters. Don't grandstand by staying home. Stay in your own game.
Your admonition is for those who will urge the objective is numbers and broad appeal. It should be remembered when compromise is proposed to go along to get along.
The numbers that matter is one on one. This election season will be a wonderful occasion to shine light on shady shakedowns. Don't stand off, but don't hyperventilate on their playing field. Sometimes your vote is counted, but ALWAYS your voice matters.
Even when they screw us we win if it is Truth to which we cast our allegiance.
All in favor -- say ' EYE (s) ...
... Open !'

It's their game

That's what the op is saying. You are saying to keep playing the game?

this is the kind of post I love to see on DP

Let's move forward and build our own models! Politics is so 20th century.

“The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants.” — Albert Camus

Are all our past votes a waste of time and effort?

or is the liberty movement and the world a little better off because of showings we have made so far?
I think more liberty-leaning candidates are taken more seriously now as is our message in the media, no matter how corrupt the system is.
Had everyone stayed home because the system was rigged and people like RP got zero votes we would OBVIOUSLY be worse off in our common goal to improve conditions for Americans and mankind.
Staying at home and sulking while you pine for utopia will not move things a whit closer to the better.

Great post, Dex

I agree with you and would rather place my focus and efforts for Liberty by using other means more suited to my nature. Dr Paul has said there are many ways to participate other than the political process, each to what suits them best! It truly is about spreading truth and ideas!

If Wars Can Be Started by Lies, They Can Be Stopped By Truth.

I will be voting in the republican primary, but only to register my dissent. In the primary, I will simply be voting for whoever the establishment dislikes the most - which will (under no coincidence) also be the most liberty candidate.

Because voting is a means to exercise one's conscience, I refuse to part with its civil value, despite the oft lack of political choices.

I won't be wasting my time.

I won't be wasting my time. It doesn't matter who votes, it only matters who counts the votes. TPTB are so powerful do you think they leave elections up to chance? Of course not. They love it when people waste their time and resources trying to tame the untameable monster that is government through elections. Instead, we need to kill the monster and not try to make friends with it.

"In reality, the Constitution itself is incapable of achieving what we would like in limiting government power, no matter how well written."

~ Ron Paul, End the Fed

I agree that our votes mean little. But 20 minutes once every few years is not wasting much of my time...I waste much more than that on a daily basis

After the way the 2012 cycle

After the way the 2012 cycle went I have lost all faith and hope in the voting process. Well done post enjoyed the pictures. I attended one of those full house rallies and did much leg work as well.

I have heard many times "I will stay home and vote"

I have heard of people leaving military, leaving government jobs, choosing to not vote, etc. In my opinion this is the biggest mistake anyone can do. I know, because I am one of them.

I realized after I left working for TSA, that I was the only one actually opposing the way we did things. I worked at Oakland Airport as a screener and disputed things constantly with my supervisor about the way we made people stand, or reveal things they didn't want to. Which was acceptable? and which was too much of a violation?

Now I know what your thinking, any violation is too much of a violation, but here is my argument:

I was awarded of one the top employees and was asked to lead my own team, even though I declined. I left because I felt what I was doing was wrong, but after I left, there was no one left to oppose new orders coming down from the top, which I did on multiple occassions. It hit me later what I had done, I had removed a good man from service. While I did go along with orders, even after a while when knew what I was doing was wrong, I slowed down their expansion, placing thoughts of morality into our service.

I haven't been to Oakland Airport in a few years, but it got far more strict, the workers are moody and I usually just fly out of SF now.

There is a verse in Christianity. "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

and from literature: "All it takes for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing."

I don't forget these anymore.

Thank you.

Thank you for presenting your argument.

> ...after a while when I knew what I was doing was wrong,
> I slowed down their expansion...

That pretty much says it all. You can change *how* wrong things are done, and you can chage the *rate* at which they are done. And you were recognized for your efforts. The fact that the things which are being done are fundamentally wrong plays no role. You have made yourself quite clear. You have explained the role your religious beliefs play in your thinking as well.

Thank you for that.

P.S. You think God viewed you as "making up a hedge, and standing in the gap." That's a good one.

Great comment! I don't care

Great comment!

I don't care what others say, as long as we have the system. We NEED men like Sheriff Mack. And Andy Griffith sorts.

As well as whistle blowers.

If you're not going to do politics,

Please consider putting the same effort, energy and money into liberty media creators!

Ben Swann, Robin Koerner, KrisAnne Hall, David West, Allison Bricker and others could really help turn the tide in the media realms IF we help them like we did Ron Paul! Help make them household names!

Support Liberty Media! http://benswann.com/ - http://www.bluerepublican.org/ - http://krisannehall.com/ - http://lionsofliberty.com/

We won't turn things around until we 1st change the media - donate to a liberty media creator today!

Excellent comment

I share the OP's feelings - voting is tacit approval for an utterly corrupt election process. I cannot, in good conscience, participate. Supporting truth in media is far more useful, in my opinion.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

I am still involved with the

I am still involved with the GOP for the sole reason that I love to see their faces whenever I submit Liberty Resolutions or mention Ron Paul. It really pisses them off. I may not get any traction but it is funny as hell.

Southern Agrarian

Enjoying pissing people off.

Love that!!!!

Truth!(But I still vote because when I speak to people, that's one of the first questions they ask. Most don't have the same knowledge as people on DP, so they don't even want to listen to you if you say you didn't vote. In that aspect, I consider it important...to win others until they can understand). Most of us in general...believe the same, but we all are individuals who will use knowledge in different ways for different reasons all hoping for the same results. In other words, we are all fighting for the same results using different tools. Does that make sense?

I a link to it to my list with this comment: With the Subject being: Why I didn't vote in the primary, and why I'm focusing on my Garden and my Neighbors.

I'm sick of playing the game in a rigged house. THEY need PEOPLE to participate in THEIR game more than PEOPLE need THEM. When people understand that, THEY are OVER. It's obvious to me, why our 'government' is arming itself. It's a shadow government that respects NOTHING of the laws of America. That said, I wouldn't know any of this if I hadn't gotten involved.

History is so replete with this.

I VOTE every minute of my life, but I'M SO DONE expecting the CORRUPT SYSTEM to fix itself. Go about your life and stand up for what you believe in, but DON'T include the corrupt system any more than you have to.

Keep Voting, Invent New Tactics and Educate

It takes so little effort to vote, there is no reason not to;

Then do whatever you think necessary to improve freedom.

But in all cases, educate.

There are so many who have no real understanding of freedom as the founders intended:

and do not forget to read Federalist #46:

I TOTALLY agree with Bucky's quote...

and perhaps those of us who are still in the Republican party can continue to INFEST the present system, quietly and calmly to pave the way to a totally new (or back to basics) reality. I just messaged my county chair saying that I had some ideas to attract all those Independents as well as others and he was VERY interested. And how? If they want votes, it's time to bring forth the concepts of LIBERTY! It's time to promote this new (or old) reality in any venue we can.

Primarily because I can... and I take Samuel Adam's view ....

that voting is a sacred trust. I will vote in the primaries because this is where I have the most influence on who becomes President as well. (IMHO) As for the national election, whether I vote or not will depend on whether I still have the variety of choices in my home state.
