Two Of The GOP's Top Presidential Prospects Are Engaged In A Very Public Feud

On Saturday, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul won the presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference by a landslide for the second consecutive year. Conservative firebrand Texas Sen. Ted Cruz came in second, but he actually gained the most ground of any candidate year-over-year.

On Sunday, Cruz began making a play to draw foreign policy distinctions between himself and Paul, both of whom are considered two of the GOP's top presidential prospects.

"I'm a big fan of Rand Paul. He and I are good friends," Cruz said on ABC's "This Week" Sunday. "I don't agree with him on foreign policy. I think U.S. leadership is critical in the world. And I agree with him that we should be very reluctant to deploy military force abroad. But I think there is a vital role, just as Ronald Reagan did. ... The United States has a responsibility to defend our values."

Cruz's comments came two days after Paul thrilled the CPAC audience by blasting President Barack Obama's drone policy. However, Paul didn't mention the preeminent ongoing geopolitical conflict — the crisis in Ukraine.

Cruz is a nightmare

Cruz is a nightmare. If you don't believe we are up against a shrewd and evil foe, look at the tea party people they slipped into our ranks.

You're right. But... I love the way Cruz gets the comment trolls howling on the MSM sites like Bloomberg. It's so funny to watch .gov hacks and hardcore leftists get mad at Cruz for highlighting the hypocrisy of so-called "fiscal conservatives" in the Rep party who always vote to raise the debt ceiling. I'm always asking why it upsets them so and never get a satisfactory answer.

Cruz would have us believe "the size of a postcard" will

somehow eliminate the IRS and the feds meddling with the People. Who are we going to send the postcard to Ted? Huh?
That was my tip-off, anyway.
I still say the only way to restore checks and balances is let the feds tax the states, as per the Constitution, and let each state decide how they wish to raise the revenue. With a true Senate (representing the state), and the states paying the federal tab, no way this run-away tax and spending continues.

Undo what Wilson did

Check and Balance

ultimately belongs to individual conscience.

Hence, taxation should be patently abolished and each citizen should be able to endow whichever public chapter they believe has value through municipal Trusts

When did Cruz become eligible

When did Cruz become eligible to become president since he is a natural born Canadian?

Rand Paul (American) against the (Canadian) Ted Cruz?

The MSM loves to create conflict and misquote to get a headline

I don't think Ron or Rand ever said the US did not have a role in leadership, diplomacy or trade, just not to meddle in the internal affairs of foreign countries.
Now Rand is number one they will try to beat him up with the isolationist club.

It is good for business.

Here's Politico's take:

Rand Paul slams Ted Cruz in op-ed

LOL! He doesn't even mention Ted Cruz in that op ed.

(Ok, ok, so everyone knows it's about Cruz)

He's the man.

I just read that

Rand did an excellent job, cool, well written and to the point. You're right, he never once mentions Cruz, he didn't have to. Why get down in the mud and give the MSM more ammunition? He just clearly stated his position and made the point he had the conservative view. So he left the door open for Cruz to come back and agree with him, brilliant!
