It's biggest rival are people who believe in freedom ...

and should such people ever geographically organize a community to preserve or practice freedom in their daily lives, a local economy will arise that does not have any allegiance to fiat currencies of nation states.

Imagine if you could cash your paycheck at a Lucky Tiger Bank branch and get dollars, face value of gold, or redeemable coupons for fixed amount of gold that you could send electronically.

j/k. Good question.

The IRS accepts payment in only one thing: US Dollars. Likewise for the bank that holds your mortgage. And the bank that holds the note on your car. Likewise for every Starbucks, McDonalds, Walmart, Target, Grocery store, not to mention Amazon.com, Ebay, etc.

(But not Overstock.com!!!)

In the US, the USD has a monopoly.

Internationally, the USD pretty much has a monopoly.

I'd say the Yuan is the closest competitor, but I don't think they want the burden - at least not yet.

The latter only needs to spread a little more.

Then... the USD $FRNs will go... poof!

The massive net consumption of the US.

What's wrong with buying

What's wrong with buying products? As if consumption is purely a bad thing...it's not. Business is a good thing. People buying products from all over the globe is a good thing.

Consumption is good, not bad.

When Americans buy foreign made products, they are helping support the people who are employed to create those products.

If the United States cut its consumption in half, how many jobs would be lost all over the world?

Probably enough to cause a global economic depression.

The last thing the world economy needs is for the American consumer to stop buying products because we are their biggest customers.

America is still the light of the world...and our economy requires the most energy because of it.

If the blood flow to each anatomical part of the human body was distributed equally at all times, we'd all be dead because our hearts and minds (brains) wouldn't be able to function.

C'mon man. You must be joking.

Why do you these countries still except dollars?

Because the products they

Because the products they sell us are purchased with them.

And what do they do with the dollars once they get them?

Answer: The Federal Reserve,

Answer: The Federal Reserve, the US government, and the Rothschild banking cartel... which runs the Federal Reserve, the US government.

It's all about a one world currency my friends administered by a global central bank run by... well you know.

Is the Dollar not already a one world currency?

It dominates the economies of the world, does it not?

There is no rival.

I used to think that TPTB were conspiring to create a one world currency, but then it hit me.

The global currency, aka, "The World's Reserve Currency," is already here.

May the best idea win.

I don't think its a particular currency

as much as countries coming together and saying enough is enough with the Dollar. The BRIC countries will play a large role in this move when they start trading more with their own currencies and stop investing in Dollars. I see this playing out already with the Ukraine cluster-funk. USA and EU one one side and Russia, India, China on the other.

However, if I had to pick, I would say the world will move back to gold and silver again, like it always does, maybe like Hugo Salinas envisions:
