wow, what a great video

Thanks for posting. It's amazing how many super intelligent people are stuck in this mirage. I think many people are genuinely afraid to abandon this world view. Think about how much this simplifies the complicated world. To think beyond these simple us vs. them categories takes mental effort, which burns energy. Just as it is hard to get people to exercise, it is hard to get people to analyze.

Also, this world view is safe. Some may argue that on Maslow's pyramid, this left vs. right paradigm satisfies the need of belonging: this is my group and we hate the other group. We could make the argument, however, that it primarily satisfies the need for safety, because it organizes the world into a simple model that reduces the frightening uncertainty of being unable to classify someone or some issue into one of these camps. The unknown is scary.

Spot on! Well done.

Encourage viewing by all Coke and Pepsi lovers that you know.

I posted this video on Facebook, here's a response I got:

"And as usual, the propaganda provided by [rex84] is total B.S. American politics hasn't been reduced to being a 'spectator sport' for any American who bothers to exercise their right to vote. As I've said, it is The Republicans who appeal to the lowest common denominator among the electorate. Democrats appeal to the greatest common factor. Only 1 of the parties is trying to 'rob' people of their right to participate in The American political process; that's The Republicans. And which party has demanding [some] Americans to 'tighten their belts' for the past 30+ years ? Here's a clue: The Republicans. Anyone who knows the slightest bit of History should be able to spot the innumerable inaccuracies and misinformation".

Ironic.

I'm speechless.

I can't stand facebook.

He's the man.

The dude is a walking contradiction

I posted the video specifically hoping this guy would watch it.

Back when we were in college, and Bush was president, this guy read Prison Planet daily, was into 9/11 truth, antiwar, etc.

We watched the very first 2007 Republican debate together, and he even agreed that Ron Paul was the best Republican candidate.

As soon as Obama won the presidency, he became a government cheerleader, and Alex Jones was suddenly a Koch bros. funded plant.

Now he's so obsessed with the evil Tea Party, it's borderline paranoia.

He's so ironic he's entertaining.

In case anyone wants to have some fun with the guy, he runs this Facebook page:

And I don't think you have to like his crappy page to comment on it.

"Tea Party & Occupy Wallstreet."

Except that those two groups genuinely do share some irreconcilable differences. OWS has been dead for awhile anyway, and Tea Party has become little more than a re-branding of establishment Republicans (when Mitt Romney calls hmself 'Tea Party', you know it's over).

A signature used to be here!

Elections were given to us Proles to minimize protest

When you realize that all candidates have been thoroughly vetted by the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) before being put out there, you will see that it makes no difference who you think you "elect". Elections every 4 years were put out there to keep folk from rioting, but it makes no difference...the same agenda carries on. Every president and prime minister has been pre-selected, years in advance and put into power since the late 1800s. Quigley's book, "The Anglo-American Establishment" breaks this down nicely and should be read first, before reading Tragedy and Hope. Obama's role is to take the tomatoes thrown at him, but as I've said, the same agenda moves forward. The solution is to stop voting, when you vote, you are giving your consent for whoever gets in, to do whatever they want. Do you ever notice that the old laws are never rescinded when a new party gains office? This is for a reason, they are the same two wings of the same bird. Democracy is a sham, we have no real choice, the power elite (12 inbred families) are the real controllers, Stop playing into their hands, do not vote, it makes no difference.

I am already there...

It is so sickingly obvious that people are trapped in the left-right paradigm. I see this quite frequently in the comments in my local newspaper. People "argue" by using labels rather than principles.

My style now is to challenge people. Quit using labels, which can mean different things to different people, and argue using principles and ideas.

Yes, it is easy to use labels when you have no counter argument.

Thanks...

for posting this, great vid!

Great video!

Definately sending this to some people.

Yeah, I hear ya, I used to do that too. It did work and sound a bit better, certainly more fun, getting together a little tighter in a group. ;)

Love this response from Dylan Ratigan (who is awesome)here:

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Some great information

Also happy it concluded with my favorite George Carlin quote/appearance.

My only suggestion/criticism - James Corbett should really use a De-esser:

Divide and conquer

I remember the beginnings of occupy wall street, it kind of coincided with the beginnings of larger youth movement towards the liberty crowd. I thought in the beginning people would be able to work together instead they were quick to call names and point fingers and they never seemed to realize 'the man' they were damning and fighting against was the same man, and he was winning because he caused them to fight each other instead.

Maybe next time. Or maybe not. Maybe history will keep repeating itself and people will keep drawing distinct lines in the sand and telling everyone that doesn't fit in perfectly they belong on the other side of the line. The ones running the show love seeing that.

That "Bane" Batman movie likely has some insight to this

You said "I thought in the beginning people would be able to work together instead they were quick to call names and point fingers and they never seemed to realize 'the man' they were damning and fighting against was the same man, and he was winning because he caused them to fight each other instead."

I agree; I thought it might have been the start of something really interesting, but it was co-opted by the banks.

Later (much later, as I don't watch in theaters), I saw that Batman movie, and thought the "court" scenes were completely inappropriate.

Sure, throw the bankers into the frozen river who defrauded America and allowed the defrauding to continue. But the businessmen, who in spite of a lopsided playing field managed to stake a claim for themselves? They should be rewarded for being able to be productive in such an inhospitable environment.

The movie seemed to me like a very bad "hill-climbing" algorithm: it didn't seek out the highest mountain, those who damaged our economy the most; it stopped after it reached a minor elevation, those being the people who had a little more than the average.

I was also horrified, that most people would not understand the above, and would cheer this "comeuppance." Which is equivalent to shooting the messenger, instead of the actual, abject evil.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.
