So wait some of you on here are saying Rand Paul fell so far from the tree we should call him an orange?

I thought we were the awakened ones?

Some of us on here expect Rand to bring a knife to a gun fight. I thought we were the awakened ones?

I can see the list of potential nominees already, we will probably see Santorum, Perry, maybe a Bush again, hell could even be a Huckabee. We are definitely gonna see a Cruz, a Paul Ryan I am assuming.

I am sure Rand and Ron never talk, I mean they are father and son so Ron could never possibly be giving Rand any type of advice, why would a father do such a thing?

You Rand bashers make me feel like it is 2006 again, like I am in some kind of Twilight Zone where someone has stolen your brains.

Obviously we are all entitled to our own opinions, but we could possibly be scrutinizing someone who is legitimately trying to help us. Can't we attack some of the others, or do they have to be running for POTUS to be attacked?

We all know who is gonna run for the most part, why are some bashing the only one who remotely has a shot at chipping away at this big government monster?

My gosh, give the man some room, he is taking on the whole damn government, and basically all the money in the world, do you all understand that?

Rand is a shadow...

Rand is a shadow of Ron. Ron would never throw him under the bus and support another candidate. His integrity is beyond reproach. The facts speak for themselves as to what Rand would do in that situation. I can't support people that make choices like that.

RickStone

I would be more than willing to make good on my bet.

And even donate to Rand. (another thread but either way the point remains the same)

If you remember 2008 all over again -- what lost it for us ? Not everyone falling behind Paul?

I remember in 2012 Rand having a deal with Mconnel by march of 2012 and Jesse still asking us for money by april. Yet they both told ron to withdraw.

Am I the only one that remembers this?

Not an orange

A sell out, a traitor, a betrayer. Those terms come to mind.

How fast we forget the feeling when Rand Paul endorsed Mitt Ronmey, at that very critical time just before the national primary in FL.

Still so many need a dear leader that they rationalize even the most blatant act of treachery done right in front of their face, calling it some type of game to make it sound not so bad.

This is the daily Paul. Ron Paul had a message, Rand Paul has one to. Rand Paul message is one of love for IzUnReal. One of betrayal, I dont care that he betrayed his father even though that is unbelievable, even the possibility that Ron Paul was in on the betrayal. Rand betrayed the message and every day continues to do so.

BS Just another Rand Paul political propaganda piece. Wont ever work.

Rothbard endorsed and supported George Bush.

LOL. Good one.

LOL. Good one.

Does the average person saying this

Realize that Rothbard is a completely unknown outside of libertarian circles. His endorsement of bush is like Tom Woods endorsing Romney....
(Infact can you prove lb per lb it hurt rothbard like it hurt the paul clan?) I bet it didn't AT ALL, and no one gave shit. Except those that need an excuse for their power hungry master.

Did it ruin a campaign that woods was running.... No...

Rothbard never ran for president and only had to answer for him self philosophically. If this is the best you have for someone selling out - you're in deep doo doo friend.

The only reason rand even made it was because of him using us. I think anyone with a brain can go back and youtube all of his speeches, and votes. (iranian sanctions anyone) I would look at his voting record but he's be known to not show up for the first two years all that often so he could maintain his moderate posistions for his "friends" like Mcconnel so they don't like idiots.

He had his chance, and he blew it -- NEXT.

you had me at "deep doo doo"

Just kidding, that's where I stopped reading.

Care to make a post

that makes sense?

What does Rothbard being unknown have to do with pricniple? That's the argument if you didn't know, that Rand is unprincipled because he endorsed Romney. Well clearly if Rand is unprincipled for endorsing Romney then Rothbard, one of the quintessential libertarian thinker of the 20th century must be unprincipled as well for endorsing George Bush.

Clearly that is not the case, and therefore the argument is bunk.

If you think Rand's endorsement hurt Ron then you clearly did not pay attention to the campaign. Any number of people on the ground can tell you that. 99% of the people bitching about the endorsement including you apparently had no idea Florida was a lost cause from the beginning. I remember tons of posts about people being harassed during canvassing and people not being general receptive especially in the enormous amount of retirees there. Not to even mention the Bushians controlling the local GOP. The convention is where we got F'd not in Florida. That's stupid as hell.

If you don't think Rand and Ron weren't planning together when Rand should do his endorsement then you must not think much of Ron at all.

I don't think it hurt Ron

I'm convinced it's ruining him and the Paul name. Also I really don't care what it amounts too now. Politics for me is over. You can say whatever you want the proof is in the pudding.

The bushians control the gop -- along with reptiles .. right...

So you're going to keep throwing candidates in a failed system at corrup competition. Good idea, you'll probably never lose...

uhm

Refer back to the first sentence in my last post.

that is

all political theater with his endorsement of Mitt Romney, I sincerely doubt Rand Paul is Mitt Romney's lap dog.

Pssst..hey guys

We're all constitutionalists here.
We all graduated from the Ron Paul Academy of critical thinking.
So the reality is, nobody needs to be told what to think or who to support and vote for, if that makes a difference, so let's leave that up to the MSM...k?
The support will come, if and when it's due.

Go wake someone up.

I'm not a constitutionalist.

The support will come lol. I will be supporting anyone but Rand too make it clear. Rand is not Ron, and this is not the Daily Rand.

Rand doesn't even have his own followers other then fairweather republicans. LOL You people are insane. They have already changed the rules anyways the not have to deal with the caucusing again.

Bingo :-)

And if the candidate of choice happens to lose, it is still local/state that is most important. Even with obama in office, strides are being made, and over time even more will wake up and participate with us.

Repeated for emphasis

(they don't, but they ought to)

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

100% Rand Paul

I could care less if he is different from Ron.
I could care less if he endorsed mittens
I could care less if he is more hawkish than Ron
I could care less if he does not meet the libertarian purity test.

I see Rand as an extension of Ron, and a man who is playing the game. I see him as better than anyone else other than Ron, and better than Ron in playing politics.

When he gets the nomination, the 3-5% of Ron Paul supporters who criticize him now, can stay home and not vote, and it wont make a difference, Rand will have the GOP base vote, and the majority of Ron Pauls base, plus the expanded block he is targeting in the african american, hispanic, women and independent voters.

I am with you

on this one.

100% RON PAUL

100% RON PAUL.

Good luck to Rand Paul and his supporters. I am not one, nor many others and nothing will change that.

When people used to tell me about Ron Paul: "But he is a Republican! Yuck!" - I took the time to explain.

With Rand Paul, nothing to explain anymore. Nothing EXCEPTIONAL.

Rand Paul is a Republican in The Republican Party.

Yuck.

Sorry, Republican Party. You can keep the crumbs (...and the "minus" votes).

Wisdom Strategies

I Proudly Stand With Rand

I try to focus on the good that he says and supports, while I also acknowledge the bad. I think - I hope - most of the bad is Rand smartly playing stealth politics; catering.

PS. Rand couldn't be an orange lol ⎯ he uses all Apple products. iMac, iPad, iPhone

Do you have any idea where Rand is

in this photo? I feel bad that he actually has to sit and listen to Obama. I heard his voice and get ill. We get to talk to each other but Rand has to listen or talk to all but a hand full of liberty minded people while trying to make a point or build a coalition.

I honestly don't

But I would assume Rand was somewhere in the US Congress, some back room near or connected to his official office. Although, because it is walled with cinder blocks, not really Congress-type building material, it might have been somewhere in the state he represents, such as his official office there.

What a great post.

Very well worded, and straight to the point. I sometimes shake my head at the pettiness of some here at the DP. I wonder if anyone of them will step up and answer your questions. I for one recognize the importance of what Rand is doing, and how he is going about accomplishing it. I think we all need to get over Ron Paul and realize his son is a good man too.

Liberalism: Moochers Electing Looters to Steal from Producers

I agree with me 100%

However, I am not running for president.

Of the candidates who are running, I examine voting records, past associations and eligibility.

Once I have done that, I will vote for who I believe will represent me better than the others. Not voting will only allow opposition to win without my input.

That is the reason that I have spent the time to put together the Candidates on the Record (in my sig). It also helps when speaking to others, it gives me quick and easy reference to make my points.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

hey proud that is an awesome thread

were you the one that did this same type of thread a few years back? I remember a thread like this. The efforts on that thread are nothing short of amazing, I appreciate the hard work put into it!!!!

Thanks tog :-)

I am not sure which thread you are referring to, I have made a few. Perhaps this one? http://www.dailypaul.com/307360/2016-potential-presidential-...

I must give credit to sovereignjanice for originating the 2012 comparison sheets, she put a tremendous amount of work into it :-)

Edit... the 2014 Liberty Candidates is not mine, that belongs to jurgs :-)

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

I think it was the 2012 comparison sheets

if I remember correctly I was bumping a thread a lot like the one jurgs made a few years back like a madman. I notice sometimes if threads do not entertain but rather just give great solid facts and information they fall off the face of the earth sometimes. Seems we humans need to be entertained at a consistent level. I really respect and appreciate jurgs hard work on this new one and hope it stays on the front page. I been on the site for 6 years plus so I can't keep em all straight but I remember a post a lot like jurgs from a ways back. The time spent on that pretty much deserves it's own webpage, awesome work!!!!!

Rand's position on Crimea is

Rand's position on Crimea is one of "leaning forward" with Obama, which is counter to his old man. On Crimea, and the right to people's self determination, Rand is an orange, not an apple. Down vote/whitewash all you want, but what I said here is true.

Rand needs to change his positions quite a bit for me to vote for him. I am done choosing the lesser of two evils, and would rather refuse to give my consent to an abominable system. I would rather see it all collapse than lend my support to false hope. Y'all do what thou wilt, it is your right, but I am personally getting tired of the lobbying for accepting mediocrity in a political candidate. I would rather vote for Hillary and accelerate the reset.
