It's over. South Carolina RINOs Vote Against Tom Davis' Anti-Obamacare Amendment. South Carolina Nullification is Dead.

I don't know what to say guys. I really thought this was going to happen. If any of you have been following my posts, I've been keeping the DP updated on the progress of South Carolina's Obamacare nullification bill.

It was passed by the House last year, and just hours ago, the South Carolina Senate rejected it. Tom Davis stood up there today and championed for us, but many, many Republicans stood with Democrats in its defeat. They voted against Tom Davis' anti-commandeering amendment which Judge Napolitano said would have been a legal model for other states to follow. The Senate then overwhelmingly voted against the House's nullification. Sen. Tom Davis and Sen. Lee Bright were the few standing up against the Establishment.

I'm so surprised, because it looked like it was going to happen. Below are a few tweets throughout the day...

Don't Give me Liberty, I'll get up and get it myself!

A bit late but...

I don't know if you have seen it but Senator Tom Davis thanked the Daily Paul and linked to this article a few days ago.

With all due respect, I will no longer be a voting prostitute for Constitution rejecting harlots.

Of course the fine citizens of the state of SC

will react to this tightening of the authoritarian noose by purging from the legislature every demon responsible, right?

No, the vast majority if not every demon will be reelected.

You know, gotta do the lesser of two evils and all.

It's pretty frustrating,

It's pretty frustrating, hopefully people remember this in the elections.

So the Obamacare Fine Will be Reality April 1st

Might as well find out exactly how much your Obamacare Penalty will be. There is a great calculator here:

Not like anyone will pay it, at least DailyPaul readers, but it is good to know exactly what you'll owe if IRS raids your house over it.

Count Georgia in on that as well

HB 707 has been tabled after the second Senate Read. I'm not all that confident it would have done anything (didn't address government breaking private contracts between providers and buyers, rules that providers were held to at Federal level, etc) anyway. All it did was proclaim that State resources couldn't be used to help implement the ACA which essentially pushes the path to expand Medicaid.

There was another bill that got crushed that would force the legislature to vote on accepting block grants, which would have pinched off the ability to enroll millions more into Medicaid.

Funny thing is that the Georgia General Assembly is DOMINATED by 'Republicans' in the House and Senate and the Executive Branch is Democrat 'in name only'. Deal was a Democrat till 1996 and 95% of the Republicans in the GA are Statists with very little understanding of individual Rights.

Go Figure . . .

Very heartbreaking...

I distrust any Senate be it state or federal.

I went to college to become a wit but I dropped out halfway through.

That's a description of our senators.

Do they have recall elections in SC?

If so I'd recommend starting a few petitions.

Unfortunately SC doesn't have
