I guess not, then

I am neither archist nor theist, as I see both as branches of mysticism. Neither praying nor voting has the power to alter reality, yet millions of supplicants indulge in both on a regular basis. Many believers feel they have strong ethical and intellectual reasons for their respective faiths and are otherwise well-adjusted and can argue them without rancor. Most, however, are quite insecure and take immediate umbrage at any challenge. Or, channeling Patton Oswalt here, "It's cake, [Oedipal Romantic], you're dead!"

Many will take great offense to this and that is precisely why I feel it's important to share it.
