Thanks, Mike

I actually wrote it in a pretty lucid, positive state after spending a day seeing some hold haunts and places, taking a long stock of the past and these kinds of questions I've asked at different times over the past 15 or so years. I'm not in any emotional turmoil, but I do think a lot of these questions, if asked honestly, yield answers that we don't normally face in every day life.

Thanks for the prayer and thoughts.

Glad to hear it. Keep on pushing the envelope.

Paternalistic ambition...

...struggling to be first or greatest in the Kingdom of Liberty. How true that it is the heart of child, the Servant that will instead be first in the Kingdom. I see that humble spirit in Dr. Paul, which is largely what drew me to the movement. I don't think the ego-centered approaches of many could have broken through my calloused biases as quickly as that humble country doctor did.

What's the direction from here?

Yankee: Hold on, hold on, never mind about the distance; whereabouts does the castle lie? What's the direction from here?

Maiden: Ah, please you sir, it hath no direction from here; by reason that the road lieth not straight, but turneth evermore; wherefore the direction of its place abideth not, but is some time under the one sky and anon under another, whereso if ye be minded that it is in the east, and wend thitherward, ye shall observe that the way of the road doth yet again turn upon itself by the space of half a circle, and this marvel happing again and yet again and still again, it will grieve you that you had thought by vanities of the mind to thwart and bring to naught the will of Him that giveth not a castle a direction from a place except it pleaseth Him, and if it please Him not, will the rather that even all castles and all directions thereunto vanish out of the earth, leaving the places wherein they tarried desolate and vacant, so warning His creatures that where He will He will, and where He will not He—

Yankee: Oh, that's all right, that's all right, give us a rest;

Most of those who think so actually don't and most of those who think sew actually rip.

yes you are. Don't ever change. Not even your socks.

We all waste a lot of it. I try to look at what I haven't wasted and move forward wasting less. Guilt is healthy but is also a waste if you dwell on it.

You've finally worn me down... I think I like ya after all... :)

Nice post.

The Philosophy Of Liberty -

If you are having pain when you ask those questions

Then the answer for you is yes to most of those questions. Suffering burns away all that is useless and impure... you must be suffering a lot based on the posts you make. Asking questions is the first step, but you don't seem to want to know the answers, so why do you keep asking?

Focus on your heart.
Then listen to what it tells you.

We don't have the answers, only YOU do.

i was going to state the opposite.

would a liar say they are a liar or not?
would a piece of crap understand what a piece of crap is? isn't that why they are a piece of crap in the first place? ;)

Good thread. I recently took

Good thread. I recently took a scalpel to my possessions. I'm moving again, so it was necessary and something I've put off for a while. I ended up tossing 3/4 of my wardrobe, all of my dvd's, cd's, and books (I'll use my laptop and tablet instead), old dslr, old camcorder, old pc, 3 old laptops. I feel much better and with a simpler wardrobe I can focus on improving the quality rather than the quantity of what I have.

Very Scary

I've been wrestling with many of these same questions in just the last few days. I was going to copy and paste all of the above questions in this reply, then answer them honestly. Unfortunately I cannot. Someone who knows me here may see my answers and get worried (or scared themselves). Sadly, I feel it is better left unknown.

I am awake, but not only to the misgivings and true nature of the world, but also to the thoughts of others who look to me as their guide, teacher, lover, and friend. I cannot disappoint them.

Glad I'm not the only one.

At the end of the day we are what we are. But just facing up and asking the question is what counts. If we answer yes and are happy with it, there ya go.

But a year or so ago I would have answered these questions differently. Although, in that time, my values, and morality have changed, dramatically. Unfortunately, my ego hasn't.

That is funny

I'm just the same. It's crazy how even after a moral epiphany you can just settle into the old ego game with your new possession as a new weapon. So many moving parts to a soul.

You are correct. Conscience, spirit, soul, all are synonyms for the essence of humans. I take heed to the quote below, however this is no excuse for lingering too long in the parlor if the party has moved to the balcony:

“Essence loves whatever is happening because it either created it or allowed you (your ego) to create it for your growth and evolution. What you learn to love about whatever you are experiencing is not how it makes you feel, but how perfectly it is suited to support your evolution toward greater love, wisdom, compassion, courage, patience, and understanding. Life is perfectly designed to evolve us, and that is what is lovable about every moment.”

We have much in common. Thank you for posting. Hopefully others here will take themselves to task and answer these questions, as you and I already have.
