It’s interesting that China artificially keeps their currency inflated compared to the U.S.
(1 dollar equals 7.19 China Renminbi). This facilitates lower cost imports into America, but hurts competition for U.S. manufactured goods within the U.S.
At this time the Euro is more than twice the value of the dollar. This is good for our country’s exports to the EU, but bad for us as consumers here in the U.S. It’s also bad for the world economy as the dollar is supposed to be the cornerstone of global economies.
What would happen to the U.S. economy if the world switched to the Euro instead of the dollar?
Didn’t Saddam Hussein consider doing this before we invaded Iraq?
