Challenger Brian Ellis asks viewers to 'think again' about Rep. Justin Amash in new attack ad

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A second television political ad released by businessman Brian Ellis again targets U.S. Rep. Justin Amash's votes, asking Third District viewers to consider what representation they're receiving in Congress.

The new spot claims Amash, R-Cascade Township, doesn't uphold the conservative values voters elected him to represent. The congressman is singled out for being the only Michigan Republican voting against a balanced budget amendment and a 2012 abortion bill — the subject of Ellis' first ad.

"Think you know Justin Amash? Think again," says the narrator, mentioning select votes during his terms in the House. "Justin Amash, he's not who you think he is."

Fiscal issues now are addressed in this second ad, whereas Amash is targeted for voting against a Balanced Budget Amendment in November 2011. The bill failed in the House with a vote of 261-165. It needed 284 votes to pass.

Amash, R-Cascade Township, previously was attacked for voting "no" on the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act, in effect alleging him in permitting the practice of gender selection abortions. FactCheck.org followed up with the ad and called it "misleading" because it did not mention Amash's anti-abortion stance despite this vote and two other "present" votes.

the scary part,,,, is that add makes him sound bad,,,,,, seemingly not taking conservative positions

now I know it's lies and his reasons behind those votes
but I'm a political junkie

what about all the joe six packs who will believe it and vote based on it,,,, scary
I think amash is the future of liberty maybe more so than even rand

just needs 5-8years of more name recognition

I can almost hear the Neo-Con money

Pouring into the election cycle. It's like someone opened a valve.

I guess Justin Amash didn't go to Sheldon Adelson's Vegas shin-dig.

My comment...
You're a real piece of "work", Ellis. Amash explains every vote on his Facebook page and you know darn well that you're misrepresenting him. Here is an unbiased report on this "ad"...http://www.factcheck.org/2014/03/misleading-abortion-attack-in-michigan/

Desperation attack

A sound bite for a very non sound bite issue.

History shows that the potency of a balanced budget amendment attracts fervent efforts to confuse the issues, especially by creating counterfeit versions and exceptions to provide political cover. Proponents of a BBA should prepare accordingly.

I'm sure Amash had reasons to vote no.

Just open the box and see

Like Upton, Ellis would be a big tax dollar spender Republican

bad news!!!!
Upton stinks!!!
voted for NDAA
voted for Ukraine/IMF theft of our tax money
