The only way Cheney will receive a standing ovation at the 2016

Republican Convention is if he is walked out in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.

I'd stand up and cheer for

I'd stand up and cheer for that...and if prison terms for Bush, Obama and members of Congress followed, I wouldn't remain silent.

Cheney’s “It wasn't torture” lie

is such a broad denial of so many atrocities committed during his vice presidency and the structures put in place that still exist including Guantanamo; the worst of it covers up what the CIA was doing in sending terror war suspects to Uzbekistan. Craig Murray, the rector of the University of Dundee in Scotland and until 2004 the UK’s ambassador to Uzbekistan, said the CIA sent terror war suspects to Uzbekistan where they were brutally tortured as part of the extraordinary rendition program. The rationale was as long as we didn’t do the actual torturing, it was OK. So, in addition to lying about the extent of torture going on in secret prisons known as “black sites” (dismantled by Obama in 2009) in various countries, suspects were being tortured in Uzbekistan by the country's own brutal means. Fast forward to current times, the United Nations has condemned force-feeding as both a form of torture and breach of international law, yet prisoners on hunger strikes at Guantanamo are still subjected to the painful ordeal which is a sufficient reason alone to close GITMO down. The buck stops with Cheney and the neocons for their shameful shroud of lies and denials they can no longer hide.

However, non-governmental human rights watchdogs, such as IHF, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International...define Uzbekistan as "an authoritarian state with limited civil rights"[28] and express profound concern about "wide-scale violation of virtually all basic human rights".[29] ...the most widespread violations are torture, arbitrary arrests, and various restrictions of freedoms: of religion, of speech and press, of free association and assembly...

the force feeding is Obama

just giving credit where credit is due

True

and considering Obama promised to close GITMO down, he's a liar too.

So they knock Cheney for

So they knock Cheney for sticking to his opinion and refusing to admit that he is wrong, but doesn't MSNBC do that? Doesn't Fox do that? Don't pretty much all politicians do that? I'd say it's just par for the course.

Note Milbanks sublte smearing of Rand

he keeps describing his foreign policy as isolationist ...

Cheney said:

the "enhanced interrogation" techniques were not torture, that in fact the term "torture" was a term that was created to discredit the program.

Um...I'm pretty sure that the "term" torture has been around a long time, and the term that was "created" to provide a slanted view of the program was "enhanced interrogation".

The Rand Paul quote was from 2009, yes?

Why is this becoming a story now? Was the video just released? Did something else happen?

If you listen to the Hardball segment, you would think Rand made those comments yesterday. In fact, it even seems like they're going out of their way to make it seem like he just said that. They even said "Rand Paul's timing couldn't be better"...ok?

Robert Taft- Mr. Republican

There is a difference between isolationism and non intervention. Shame Dana Milbank chose to call Rand Paul isolationist

This will be the treatment he'll receive. Just like they did with his father. This is stealth attacking. Because Rand is perceived as a threat.

Chris Tingle does a nice job ripping Cheyney and company, but...

...he cannot blame the growing anti-war sentiment solely on the war-mongering of the Bush administration alone.

Obama administration has continued the agenda, and has intervened militarily in Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Mali, and tried desperately to gain support from the American people on attacking Syria. There are STILL U.S. military troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and this is years into Obama's second term.

The growing anti-war sentiment, which includes republicans, democrats, libertarians, independents, and everything else, shut down the Obama administrations efforts to attack Syria.

And folks understand that the war propaganda is the excuse to continue to take away our rights here at home. Obama has been as guilty as Bush at taking away our rights, if not more so.
