What are you doing with your life?

How would you answer that, if someone asked you?

Are you living up to your full potential?

What would you say?

Please, say it here.

that sucks, man

I feel for you. But it seems like you have a pretty good skill set, so you should be able to find something else soon.

If you have some money saved up and no commitments, I would take a break and go travel.

In any case, I think you should celebrate this as an opportunity. I hope that doesn't sound presumptuous, just trying to cheer you up, brother.

Trying to un-plug from the slave life I have lived!

I have figured out after a lifetime of collecting everything I put value on is, "the more you have the more you worry about keeping it".

2009 I built a very small cabin in the woods, off grid and utilitarian by design. It is a total blessing to retreat to when I have had enough of the plugged in world. I have a lot of Amish around me so living without electric power is possible.
I dropped cable a year or two ago, and trying to cut everything that isn't needed. It will be hard to un-plug the web. but someday it is going to happen.

ok, I will pretend you asked me

Are you living up to your full potential?

I am not sure what that means? Potential for what?

What are you doing with your life?

lately, just living the good life.....taking care of my property and plants, building, cleaning, enjoying the sunshine and my motorcycle. I try to work as little as possible and help people as much as possible.

Always in the background I am thinking. I see how things are and I think about how they will change and what part I can play in that. That is just my nature. I try to bring things to light to those around me as much as I can which can have a catalyzing effect.

Why spinning my wheels of course!!

Pounding my head against the wall!

I am trying to sell my place in Ok. and move to Co. It is very hard to get it done when there is almost no one that can help me. Most of my friends have died or moved away. My family is mostly in Co. Anyone want to come help? lol (p.s. A few days ago I tried to move an old 25 inch t.v. and dropped it. Most of it is still in the middle of the living room and I can't lift it. argh!)

It takes all that I have to stay sane.

I like that I'm pushed to the limits, knowing that I'm living in a place of challenge and not mediocrity.

Others may say I'm crazy, but in this bizarro world, that means you're doing something right.

My ex-wife robbed me of all my savings and left me with two children. So I'm rebuilding my life slowly. I'm going be a scientist a little over a year working on curing viruses or maybe genetic engineering.

Many years ago my wife and I

Many years ago my wife and I decided to work towards an early retirement. Neither of us are big into material things, so our goal was set reasonably. Two years ago we met our goal - having squirreled away what is known as a "critical mass" of savings and investments to make our dream possible.

Yes, it's still possible in the US of A. Younguns, you can do it as we did, by delaying gratification and socking savings away wisely and frugally, listening to the investment wisdom of guys who see the world through essentially the same lens as you do. For us, that was guys like Jimmy Rogers, Jim Grant, Mark Faber. Wise guys to listen to today might be Peter Schiff and Mike Shedlock. Just find your own, don't follow any one person's advise, think for yourself, work hard for income, invest wisely and in a way that will allow you to sleep at night, and be vigilant. Be forever vigilant.

So, today, I am living life. I should admit that I'm only semi-retired, but only because that's the way I want to be. Any work that I do, I choose to do, based on my values. Today I only work on projects that I believe will be of value to others - no BS work, no busy work, no work for the oligarchs who once sucked my lifeblood.

I do some community service work too - just to stay connected - just to feel useful. And I pollinate - visiting websites daily, commenting, putting the liberty perspective out there, over and over and over, because the more they hear it the more likely folks are to consider it - to investigate on their own and learn the truth, and join us in the liberty movement to make a better world.

When I'm not working, I learn; gardening, wine and beer making, and various other self reliance projects.

Today in particular I'm enjoying a perfect SE Virginia spring afternoon. This morning I aerated my lawn (those machines will beat you up!) in preparation for planting a new lawn, in preparation for selling my house by the end of the year, in preparation for moving closer to our granddaughter - so that we can more closely participate in her life. So that we can enjoy watching her making her way in the world.

Tonight, I'll open a bottle of home brewed oatmeal stout and enjoy it while sitting by a fire in my backyard fire pit. I'll light a cigar, with my old dog my by side. Missing my wife who is out of town visiting relatives.

Tomorrow I'll wake up (God willing) and enjoy what the new day brings.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

Owning a resort is a lot of

Owning a resort is a lot of work and sweat but I love to work and I love to sweat. This is what I do. I work for myself and I love what I do. I get to host a place for families to come together and enjoy Gods beauty on earth. The lakes here are clean and quiet. Every day I take time to listen to the music that nature provides us. I stop to smell the aromas in the air. And I watch the joy on the child's face when he or she reels in a fish from our fresh, pristine lake. It's truly a rewarding life I have.

Not enough

I've been trying to change that. I've been listening to a lot of Dr. Wayne Dyer and reading books related to spirituality about meditation and changing negative thought patterns. I've always been a very restless person who has trouble focusing on one thing for very long, so I'm finding self-transformation very difficult. I know I could be a better person and want to be. I hope at least that trying is worth something.

I am Running For the State Legislature

That is what I am doing with my life now. I've had enough of the spinelessness in the Idaho Legislature, and of our turncoat Governor.

The State Legislature's are the LAST stand against an out of control Federal Government.

Here is proof that I am running:

District 15 House Seat B - Jason Joel Robinson

My campaign website

But like with all of us in the liberty movement running against an ally of an entrenched establishment, this is a money game, and I'm on the loosing end of it so far. I have personally donated over $7,000 in 2013 to the cause of liberty, sponsoring Ben Swann at three rallies at each corner of Idaho (www.IdahoLibertyExpo.com). That means my personal liberty war chest is depleted.

DP community , please help evict THE BIGGEST Republican Stateist in Idaho (District 15 Senator - a record that is worse than the Democrats in Idaho!!) and a Federal Marshall (appointed after the start of the term, served for less than 3 months, has no name recognition, and already has a terrible voting record).

Please skip out on eating at a restaurant just ONCE and toss that $15 my way as a symbolic "$15 for D15". Of course I am set up to accept more if you are able to. I am putting (finances & job permitting) $1,000 if my own money into this race. That is essentially my emergency savings, so you know that I am all-in on trying to personally make a difference.

I have two dozen volunteers and Precinct Committeemen helping with this race on door knocking, etc, but we need signs, we need postage, we need radio time. Etc.

There are ONLY 2800 likely primary voters in District 15!!! Think about that for a minute. That means around 1400 votes will turn TWO SEATS in the Idaho Legislature that support our governor and his waste of $70 state based exchange. I say two seats, because Diego Rodriguez is running for the District 15 Senate seat and we are of like mind on almost all issues.

My Friend Diego's campaign website

For those wondering about the legalities, yes I have filed a C-1 with the Sec. of State for a campaign committee & Treasurer, and an IRS EIN.

No donations from non-citizens please.

For some people...

"Doing something with your life" means getting a college degree, pursuing a 40 hr/week career or job, etc, etc...

People at my place of employment are trying to push me in that direction.

I have better things on my mind. What am I doing with my life?

I'm pursuing happiness.

I'm educating myself on how the world really works.

I'm developing closer relationships with family and friends.

I don't know what my life-path has in store for my future, but I'm preparing myself to be a good teacher, father, example, and friend to the wife and children I may have, when the time comes.

I'm volunteering at the food pantry in my community.

I'm living life by the day. Each new one is a clean-slate.

I'm working on making MYSELF a better person.

I give thanks to our Creator, for the beautiful universe surrounding me.

I try not to take anything or anyone for granted.

That's what I'm doing with my life. I'm more than a cog in a machine. I'm a free soul, looking for peace and happiness in any way that I can. Maybe I won't be the next millionaire on Wall Street, but the way I'm living life now, is more fulfilling than that million will ever be.
