dang dude

you're an angry person. Calm your tits.

the feds are stealing

the cattle and unconfirmed killing some and burying in the desert.
Last report I heard was 120 or so Americans turned away about 20 in uniform. Some militia is on hand. The call is out for more Citizens to come out and join .... the goal is to keep it peaceful. The goal is to keep these uniforms off the land and maybe get the sheriff in that area to actually do something.

Omg! We're at the precipice now, brings me to tears.

One of these days someone's gonna lose it and put these tazing rangers out of their misery. Maybe they'll think twice about hurting citizens and breaking our Constitutional laws.
Mr. Bundy was on Pete Santilli yesterday and Alex Jones today. I gave up TV a few years back so don't know if this Bundy/Govt conflict is being shown on media networks. More Americans need to know about this otherwise it could be another Waco.

What I find appalling is the Governor of Nevada is not interceding. I wish they'd yell to the Governor for help in these videos and have signs requesting his presence; I don't even know his name. He made perfunctory objections to govt's antics but that's for show otherwise he's not feeling his sovereignty over federal govt. I think he should have sent some National Guardsmen to the site to back the Bundy people, along with a Sheriff or two.

Of course it's easy to quarterback from my couch; frankly, I'm scared sh*tless of what's coming. I just bought 5/8" plywood sheet to protect two doors in my home from kick ins, at least it will give me time to lock and load.

Okay, I just spent 30 minutes writing Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval an email expressing my disappointment that neither his name nor his representatives were present at Bundy Ranch to support him and protestors. Every little bit helps I hope.
God bless all Libertarians and trumpet players.

You people are beautiful.

I love you all, thank you!

kind people rock

The 2nd amendment exists for

The 2nd amendment exists for a reason. I saw that it was 40 on about 10 there in favor of the protesters.

The time is drawing near.

Why are they trying

to stop cattle trucks?

the rancher at the heart of all of this...

this seems to come down to a land rights challenge. Federal agents asserting a claim on land which has been used by ranchers in the region for over a century... the Bureau of Land Management wants to "protect the rare desert tortoise" from cattle grazing the land. There's been a fairly long-term dispute about the land and the way it's managed and the fees charged to the ranchers who utilize the land... so the feds are using choppers to herd the cattle into rustle em... taking them over multiple borders and then selling them.

I've read claims that the BLM has killed the cattle where they were (on "federally managed" land) and there were big diggers/bulldozers being brought in to bury the slain cattle. These vehicles were involved in another confrontation. but I've not seen video of that event.

this could spark a horrible bloody mess across the nation.

At their inceptions, the #Liberty, #OccupyWallStreet and #TeaParty movements all had the same basic goal... What happened?

his is grazing cattle on land he doesn't own?

Sounds like he is in the wrong to me.

He has grazing rights...

...the family's had them since the 1870's or so.

The BLM changed the rules to "protect" the desert tortoises.

The Bundy's believe (like all constitutionally knowledgeable people do) that the federal government does not have authority over public lands that do not fit the description of land Congress is authorized to set aside according to Article I, Section 8, paragraph 17.

The Bundy's are in the right, the other ranchers who kowtowed to the feds are the problem. Their kowtowing gave rise to the exertion of unconstitutional powers by the BLM and the courts.

Freedom is the ability to do what you want to do.
Liberty is the ability to do what you ought to do.
"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." 2 Corinthians 3:17

maybe but

I think if someone doesn't own the land and they just have rights to use some aspect of it, they don't have the right to destroy it. So perhaps there is another solution. How many people are grazing this same land? It sounds like they need to get together and reduce the numbers of cows on it so that the land can recover.

Now you might question whether the government can own land but then we would get into who does really owns this land. or can anyone own land? Mother Nature I expect would say that the land belongs to everyone, all of the creatures, plants, etc. So what would stop me from grazing my cows there?

Perhaps the other ranchers went along because otherwise the land would be destroyed by over-grazing. OR maybe they just knew who had the big stick. But, it does just only take one to screw things up for everyone. Now I am not saying Bundy is the one screwing things up. He might be the best land manager of the bunch, I have no idea. Maybe Bundy just doesn't recognize the federal government authority. That's fine, but do be prepared for the next fight which is who does have the authority?

play nice :-)

It could be a spark

But it won't.
Most are content to sit and complain about the abuses...then forget it happened.

Speak for yourself

Not everyone attempts to rationalize cowardice

deacon's picture

Rationalizing cowardice?

Not sure how you got that from my comment, well, yeah I do,You wanted to see my comment that way
But lets take stroll down memory lane.
What has happened since my comment....the cows were slaughtered, and the protestors were tazed.....and for the icing on the cake, the feds didn't back down, they weren't backed up,they did their jobs, and were left alone.
A bit further back in time?? the patriot act was signed, and protests over that bill that changed their minds?
When it was found out that the feds were spying on everyone, was there screaming in the streets, and then the nsa was disbanded?
When the bailouts happened, did anything different happen that changed the minds of the feds to not steal that money?
In the last say 20 years has anything been done to bring the fed down a notch,or was this all put on the back burner and then forgotten?
seems to me,what you call cowardice,is actually calling it the way it is

Your initial comment judges others, who apparently have not lived up to your standards of civil disobedience.
Yet you proffer no insight to solutions, or any indication of your own resistance to tyranny.

Further you've subscribed to a web-site honoring the contributions of Dr. Ron Paul, yet turn a blind eye to the moral victories of individuals with courage in the arena of public life.

Finally, you nor does anyone else know what the future holds, nor what is in the hearts of those who have made a commitment to sacred honor in the face of lethal force.

I agree that the political situation within the past several decades has deteriorated severely, however not everybody has agreed to consign themselves to eternal bondage

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

further beyond yesterday

The talk here was all about that jet that went missing, today,it is all about that rancher. What was the talk of town before that? how about before that?
So while you can think of me anyway you want,I see what I see,and I saw what i saw.
You can save your Sam Adams comments for others who do not see their own slavery, and the ones who do not look into history.
While the people on the Dp look into history and see repeats, not too many other people actually, and they go with the wind blowing
I turn a blind eye to nothing,i see the long line of abuses,do you?
while you might not have read anything about solutions from me,maybe it is because no one read/listened or heeded me in the past, and I just got plain sick and tired of repeating the same thing over and over to an unresponsive crowd
No one can know what the future holds? really? all one has to do is look into the past, the past always repeats itself, and the same write the history for all to read.
all you have done so far was belittle what i typed but did you offer any solutions? you know, the ones you wanted from me?
I can judge(as you called it) human nature,as the same thing has played out in the past, will play out again in the future, and if we are not wise,it will happen again, long after we are gone

1) 'What was the talk of town before that? how about before that?'

IMO what free people believe are important, though I may not necessarily hold the same values

2) 'i see the long line of abuses,do you?'

I see many opportunities of love lost and pre-suppositions concerning peoples ethics, which saddens me

3) 'while you might not have read anything about solutions from me,maybe it is because no one read/listened or heeded me in the past, and I just got plain sick and tired of repeating the same thing over and over to an unresponsive crowd'

If speaking to an unresponsive crowd, why then denigrate others?

4) 'No one can know what the future holds? really?'

Yes, because IMO each individual has been granted free will

5) 'the past always repeats itself, and the same write the history for all to read'

Disagreement: are you saying there will be identical Elvis Presleys? There may be imitators and successors, however the meaning of such public figures and events is not necessarily the same

6) 'did you offer any solutions? you know, the ones you wanted from me?

My best efforts to dignify the prerogative of individual choice while reserving the right to withdraw from abuse can be civically found here

Good evening to you

Looks like the Rangers left

Looks like the Rangers left because they got what they wanted and were done. To much drama for me...
