What are you doing here? What are people still doing here? The election is over.

What is the Daily Paul?

What are you still doing here, and why? Why? WHY?

DP is the best pinnacle site...

... for getting a real overview on what is happening of importance on Earth.

Because no matter what...

this is my family and there's no other place on the web like it. I was born into it in 2007ish and tho I seldom sign in or post, it's part of my day and it is reassuring to know that something built on passion, integrity, and honestly still stands. Thanks for listening.

My why

I hope it stays around because I enjoy the diversity of opinion along with the ever growing effects of thinking for myself and questioning of our so called authorities.

A Crown of Thorns?

To answer your question, I enjoy the information and dialogue that I find here. It gives me hope that not all 'Mericans are self-absorbed entertainment addicts.

The DP is a place where a premise is challenged; a paradigm kicked over and comfort zones given the appropriate lack of respect. Thank you for turning the DP on so that it could become this very interesting place to visit…Daily. I have spent a few years (6+?!) at this site and have found intellectual fulfillment and at times inspiration.

At times it seems you are at a cross roads Michael and you may not feel the DP in its current form and with its current content, both which are responsible for the numbers in your post, has a place on that road.

If you don't like what the DP has become or you have personally moved beyond what the site represents all I can write is best wishes and more power to you brother. I wish you whatever it is you seek Michael Nystrom.

Has the DP become, or is it becoming, a crown of thorns?
If that is the case unplug the darn thing. Better yet, sell it!! This way you could try to recoup a small portion of the costs you have put into the site albeit a small amount. Also, by selling it the Daily Paul will still live but you sir will be emancipated. I would hope that you would still come by and share your thoughts on a regular basis.

Start the bidding :)

Liberty = Responsibility

For Me

Ron Paul won the election.

He is my President.

Mitt and Obama were INSTALLED.

I am here celebrating Liberty.

I'm still here because I've found that I can "check out but I can never leave..."

Beware the cult of "government"...

Still here because...

I didn't hear anybody yell "LAST CALL" yet!!!

Back to work, Michael LOL.

Rights are like muscles; you must exercise them to keep them fit, or they will atrophy and die.

Cuttineg edge information to decipher.

And inform on activism.

I found this site while the 2008 election was going on...

And the Ron Paul campaigns were important to me as an educational tool, but it's become all about liberty media for me. This is a great place not just to promote our outstanding liberty media creators, but it's also where I come to find new ones that I've helped promote over the years, like Josh Tolley and KrisAnne Hall.

Liberty media has become more important to me than any election, because as Robin Koerner told me, historically liberty has never won because of a politician first - Liberty has won because of something shared in the media of the day that pushed the culture, and the culture then pushed the politicians.

It's also where I keep up with what my liberty family is up to! I love you all! This site is an extension of my living room no matter where in the world I am.

(One of these days I plan on having a beer with you Mr. Nystrom - It's on my bucket list:)

I'm here because of each and every comment below...

It was probably the pandas.

I'm here because of

I'm here because of LIBERTY!

Seriously. There truly is no other place like this. If you want to know where ideas are born in the liberty movement, it's THIS PLACE.

Today I found out that two Rove-backed candidates in NC

lost major straw polls conducted on April 14 in NC.

One was Greg Brannon and the other was Walter Jones, both Ron Paul - endorsed candidates, both going up against establishment-backed candidates.

The 2012 election may be over but the DP is, for lack of a better term, THE establishment site for supporters of a whole new breed of politics.

Are you saying that Brannon and Jones

are backed by Rove?

egapele's picture

Unable to go back and edit - my apologies for the confusion

I meant that Brannon and Jones are backed by Paul, won the straw polls handily and were up against Rove-backed establishment candidates.

The Daily Paul is the Short-Wave Frequency in an otherwise commercial radio spectrum.
It is the "FM" that replaced "AM" of online forums.
Thank You Michael Nystrom!

people who are politically awake are just . . .

more appealing.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I come here for the trust...

I read the Daily Paul, because I trust it. No, I don't trust everything I read there, but the BS is pretty easy to separate, using simply logic. Do I trust Mike? Hahahahah, I'd like to. The founder has proven in the past to reliable, so why wouldn't I? All this being said, I watch network news, still, because its so obviously BS. 'the nightly News' is the funniest show on the TV, but I read the Paul, cause like the good doctors, I trust it. I like the consistency.

The DailyPaul is one of 4 or

The DailyPaul is one of 4 or 5 sites that I absolutely must visit on a daily basis. On an average day, I may visit here anywhere between 8 to 10 to 20 times...maybe more, I'm not even sure! It's a ritual and a habit that's tough to break and it will continue as long as Mike will have it.

Second this!

I have to visit daily. I need to get real news from somewhere!

Has Mr. Nystrom had enough?

I come here almost daily, no pun intended. There's always news I wouldn't normally see, articles that broaden my horizons, I personally think you should either embrace what it has become or sell it to one of the many thoughtful and wonderful people that post here routinely. It sounds to me like you've had enough, but I won't presume to know your feelings about the daily Paul. I just hope that if your time with it is up, pass it on to another fellow liberty lover, because even though the election is over, the Liberty movement is just awakening, and this site is a great part of it.

I am here because I've never found anything better! It's true

the election is over . . . but what it started is not over - just keeps getting bigger; much bigger; and I think we all feel some responsibility to keep things going in the right direction. There are people on here who just make fantastic contributions. DP always synthesizes the most important things happening so you can follow them. I feel lucky to be able to come here every day. It started because of the spirit and intention of a man named Ron Paul, and a man named Michael Nystrom, and I thank both of them.

WHY? To give and to receive care.
& I'm in love ...She is the DP
& 'her face' is the front page on any given day.
aaannd 'I'm A Believer' in what she has to offer.
& Thank you Michael for creating it - you're awesome.

time is wasted in minutes not hours

Selfish reasons

Why daily?

Because most DPers are sincere in sharing info while others creative in dialogue.

50% is habit. There's been no significant change of routine to break the habit for years on end. There are a couple other web sites I do the same thing for so I don't want to get introspective over the other 50% or I'll have to do it for all of them.

Defend Liberty!

News and serious issues.

This is an informed user generated news outlet.. The name Paul actually means "few" so it could mean "The Daily Few", or the daily minority where the few individuals inform the world. Not to mention that Rand is a "Paul". Any site that has "Awakened" individuals is a rare site indeed. Truth is what we are seeking and hungry for, so this is among the very few sites I'm aware of that actually promotes truth. This is a place where an true idea is germinated into a movement. It's a catalyst that starts grass root fires for Liberty.

In a nutshell

Because this "place" is just so damn interesting. In a matter of minutes I can read and discuss liberty, politics, precious metals, economics, history, current events, new technology, UFOs, music, movies, interviews, diet, health, humor, art and a plethora of other subjects. We are surely a whacky bunch of folks.

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different." ~CW

What am I doing here?

What am I doing here?

I'm sharing interesting stories, current events, and conversations with like-minded individuals. I'm also learning things and refining my political ideologies. I also enjoy the topics, discussions, controversies, and different points of view. I've also made a few friends along the way.

Why am I still here?

There's no other online community where I feel as comfortable as I do here. Since 9/11, I've been a political junkie, and I've found that my friends and family can only talk politics for a few minutes before they've had enough. For me, I think I'm addicted to trying to discover what I'm not supposed to know.

And, uh, I'm also still here because the arc set sail, and abandoning ship means that I'd be alone at sea treading water with sharks!

What is the Daily Paul?

The Daily Paul is news aggregate with user-generated content where Ron Paul and liberty are the common denominators.

I'm a serial entrepreneur and liberty activist from Texas!
