I live in the area,

and I've called many stores to compare their prices. For the last couple years, I've been buying from Liberty Coin Galleries, in Signal Hill (down by Long Beach.) They give better prices on gold coins than Kitco, or any other local store I've found. Their prices on silver coins are pretty good too. Be sure to save your money so that you're buying over $1000 worth of coins at each purchase, otherwise you get hit with sales tax.

And one thing to watch out for, phoning stores for price quotes: a LOT of them will give you a lowball quote over the phone, and jack up the price in the store, claiming "the market moved up." When someone does that to you -- walk out, and go elsewhere. Liberty Coin has *never* pulled that on me.

dabooda

You know of any good coin shops (mostly for silver) in the Northern San Diego area or anywhere in SD? Thanks!

Nope.

I'd be very surprised if SD has better prices than can be found in LA; I never bothered to call around there.

What trouble are you having,

What trouble are you having, exactly?

Look up a store... Go buy your coins...
