2016 GOP Ticket... Dr. Rand Paul & Dr. Ben Carson?

Politico: Two doctors on one ticket? Opinions?

Who Is Dr. Ben Carson?
By James Hamblin | April 21, 2014 | Politico

When he retired last year after three decades of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, Ben Carson bought an organ. Carson has the money to buy a nice one. As he acknowledged in an address at last month’s Conservative Political Action Conference, he is comfortably in the 1 percent.

Carson, 62, references his financial security regularly. The effect is, in part, to deflect suspicion that he’s trying to cash in as a television commentator (he’s now a Fox News contributor) or as an author (he’s got a new book out next month, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future). Carson has already achieved the highest level of status in medical practice, profited on the boards of Fortune 500 companies and, perhaps most impressively, had a made-for-TV movie about his life in which he was portrayed by Cuba Gooding, Jr. The other half of why Carson talks of his own success and status: He wants you to know that you, and any American, can achieve the same.

But Carson’s organ is languishing. “I think the Good Lord had a different plan,” he said when we met recently.

Unfortunately

Somehow I still think it will be everybody's favorite panderer, Teddy Cruz. The GOP will have no choice but to cash in on that last name, may be the only way the establishment will "let" Paul proceed as the front-runner.

Ultimately, this may be the only way to survive the Hillarity...

These threads always prompt

These threads always prompt comments saying Rand should choose his Dad or Judge Nap or Amash et al. Whether it's Carson or not, most DPers should be ready to hate Rand's choice should he win the nom. Strategy dictates you don't pick a clone. Principle may dictate that you do from your point of view but if my guy makes it to the finals against Hillary, I want him picking Rubio or someone else who can win electoral votes for Rand. VPs are irrelevant anyway after election day.

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

How are they "irrelevant"?

Don't you remember the Kennedy's? With your pick suggestions, they just take out Rand, and get who they want anyway. That's why I want him to pick someone "stronger" than him-"his Dad or Judge Nap or Amash et al," because if he gets taken out, we still have a liberty candidate. If he picks ANY of your suggestions, I'd have to really rethink any support I might give.

You make all my points for

You make all my points for me, thanks.

Still keen on Paul / Johnson

or even Paul / Palin, if she could get over Zion. Rand Paul would be a close second pick for top of the ticket, but I still prefer the elder Paul.

My personal preference would

be Rand Paul/Ron Paul V.P. ticket. What a win, win that one would be and I would gladly vote for and campaign for that ticket!

That would be the best of both worlds:

Principle AND Electability.

Rand Paul 2016

.....

My answer is always the same. Have the line of succession to the presidency filled by people who are either equally or more libertarian than Rand. The obvious reason being assassination.

They're gonna fight again...

Even fox news is pushin Jeb Bush as the "best chance to defeat Hillary in 2016"They say Hillary has the dem nom locked in & Jeb Bush is the best chance at defeating her
