New: Rand Paul Introduces Stand with Israel Act of 2014

Bill ends foreign aid to Palestinian government

Apr 29, 2014
Sen. Rand Paul today introduced the Stand with Israel Act of 2014. This legislation halts all U.S. aid to the Palestinian government until they agree to a ceasefire and recognize the right of Israel to exist. The bill, S. 2265, can be found HERE and below:

"Today, I introduced legislation to make all future aid to the Palestinian government conditional upon the new unity government putting itself on the record recognizing the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state and agreeing to a lasting peace."

"Prohibition on Foreign Assistance.

(a) In General. Except as provided under subsection (b) and notwithstanding any other provision of law, no amounts may be obligated or expended to provide any direct United States assistance, loan guarantee, or debt relief to the Palestinian Authority, or any affiliated governing entity or leadership organization.

(b) Exception. The prohibition under subsection (a) shall have no effect for a fiscal year if the President certifies to Congress during that fiscal year that the Palestinian Authority has --
(1) Formally recognized the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state;
(2) Publicly recognized the state of Israel;
(3) Renounced terrorism;
(4) Purged all individuals with terrorist ties from security services;
(4) Terminated funding of anti-American and anti-Israel incitement;
(5) Publicly pledged to not engage in war with Israel; and
(6) Honored previous diplomatic agreements."

Oh God, he might as well

Oh God, he might as well stick his head up Israel's ass...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

He should also submit a

He should also submit a "Stand with Palestine" bill.

Rand took a wrong road on this one and I'll not be convinced differently.

Throw the Palestinians under the bus to garner support from Netenyahu; the biggest hater in the world.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

I think this is the straw that breaks the camel's back

Israel is a monster to those people, and the U.S. is supposed to support that? With stolen tax payer money? Well at least he is the "liberty candidate." With a title like that you aren't expected to explain your actions.

Would Ron Paul endorse a bill

Would Ron Paul endorse a bill that cut off aid to Palestine?

Stand with Rand, ... oh, I meant Israel.

Rand has adapted his "Stand with Rand" slogan for a new purpose. Is there a difference between the two? I use to think there was a big difference between Rand and Israel. If we were told the title of this new bill and then asked to guess the Senator who authored it, who would you say wrote this bill? Answer as of one day ago: Any of the 99 other Senators, except Rand. Is the introduction of a bill like this the stuff that inspires the birth of a Liberty Movement, that inspires standing in the rain for hours to cast a vote, or that inspires the donating of hard earned dollars to a campaign without hesitation?

It is all about branding

If one looks at any title of a bill it could perhaps be argued that in a sense Rand is using the doublespeak logic of DC. Good examples of this are The Patriot Act or The Affordable Care Act. The first one, of course, has nothing to do with patriotism and the second one hasn't got much to do with affordability. As politicians name their bills to deceive people, so maybe Rand is deceiving to cut some spending and at the same time looking like a true Israel supporter.

But perhaps I am absolutely wrong. Who knows!?!

He's not going for the

He's not going for the "liberty movement" vote. Ron did, and we saw how that turned out.

When it comes down to it, Rand will get 90%+ of the tiny "liberty movement" vote if he makes it to the general. He knows that. I'm sure you do as well.

and what

makes you think it will turn out differently? and nobody knows what percentage he'll get from any group.

I don't know if it will turn

I don't know if it will turn out differently. But you know what doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is right?

Still amazes me that so many on here expect him to be a clone of Ron Paul. He proposed a bill that Ron would support and vote for, but that is not enough, and to some it's even betrayal.

i think that number

of people who expect him to be like ron is dwindling rapidly.

Ron Paul on Israel, Iran
no mention of Palestine. why would he mention beating up a down trodden people? we all know he is for cutting off aid worldwide, but singling out palestine because of israel?

He made sure as hell he got Ron Paul's list of donors.

He sought us out fast enough when we were needed to get him elected. Now he's moved on to even bigger goals, and in the process, he sort of forgot about that "tiny Liberty Movement." That is politics, right? No big deal. Hey, that was a nice roll in the hay, "what was your name again." Ever felt used? If you think there is hope for change with Rand, think again if this is what he is doing prior to the November elections. What will be next? When he declares himself a presidential candidate, what will he do to get elected? More importantly, what will be your line in the sand that you will not cross? For example, if Rand would support more undeclared wars, amnesty for all illegals, more NSA spying, more banker bailouts when the next crash arrives, etc. What will you say no to?

It was the Tea Party movement

It was the Tea Party movement that got him elected.

Would Ron Paul vote for a

Would Ron Paul vote for a bill that cut off aid to Palestine? Be honest.

Ron would vote for any bill

Ron would vote for any bill ending aid anywhere.

Which Tea Party is the question?

Ron Paul's original Tea Party Movement or the coopted Glenn Beck Tea Party?

Glenn Beck was not the only

Glenn Beck was not the only one who co opted the Tea Party movement & was not even the first

Good Luck Mr. Rand Paul

You all are way too emotional

You all are way too emotional to engage in politics. You should just do what you do best and hold up Ron Paul signs on a street corner yelling "Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul".

They have already started to tout him with the likes of his "anti Semite" father. That is the main reason Ron could never be on the ticket.

This bill will never pass but at least Rand can deflect any of the smears against him. This is big time folks. Get with the program.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...

me too.
