Thumbs up to the moderators on the DP

for putting the dates next to the current threads.

Kinda tired of whoever it is lately that is bumping up old stuff.

This message board has the best features of any I have come across -- by a country mile.

Thank you to all those responsible. The Obama administration should have hired you for healthcare.gov -- or tried to, anyway.

Nice way of celebrating your 6 years here with this post!

I've said this before, but saying it again here is good.

Michael, Jon, & BigMike should put it all into words, meaning a how-to book. The number of innovations incorporated into DP over the years is nothing short of staggering, IMO. How DID they do all of that anyway? Amazing job. Why not make a guide for others to follow so they do not have to invent the wheel? Our web gurus can hopefully cash in on their ideas by writing this book.

Here is the title for them: [ARE YOU GUYS READING THIS? Start writing.]

Thumbs up for our friend Joη

Who is the resident magician of the Daily Paul. He's the one who did it. He saw the need, and made it happen, because that's how he is, and those are the kinds of things he can do.

May we all follow his lead in our own lives: See a problem, and do what is in our power to solve it.

Thanks Joη!

And in the event you haven't seen or heard, our very own Joη made a game like Words with Friends, only way better, called Anadro.me. (An anadrome is a word that spells a different word when you spell it backwards.)

Check it out. He's a genius in our midst. Putting dates on posts is the least of what he can do.

If you like Scrabble, you'll love this game. Seriously. Check it out.

Agreed

Sometimes I wish I could just upvote Bigmike and Jon. Just upvote them, not necessairly their posts or comments or anything, although I'm pretty generous with upvotes, but I am talking about just upvoting them.

Like when Bigmike is going for the gold in the chow session or when he is making wine and or a really cool garden.

Or when Jon just sweeps in undercover and fixes things and or makes the site more fun and takes care of business.

I have a confession though. Or maybe it is the wine that has a confession. About a week or so ago I was up late late into the wee hours of the morning, and you see that blue bar up ^^^there^^^? Well, by the word "forums" there is a blue circle with a question mark in it and when you push it, it brings up a random old post. If you push it around 3 AM when there are not many people online, the random old post it brings up will then be in viewed topics on the front page because at that hour only 1 person needs to be viewing a thread for it to be in the viewed threads.

So, anyways, I was just innocently clicking on buttons and next thing ya know a post from a while ago was all the rage. And it is all my fault. In my defense, I do not know why that button is there if it is not to be pushed. Or maybe it is just better if I do not push it at such an odd hour. But really, it was only my fault once. There have been a lot of old posts popping up over the past few weeks and I will only take some of the blame and I hope I get to stay on the ark/c.

I will stop pushing buttons that shouldn't be pushed from now on.

Good Job mods, way to take care of the problem.

Darn it! I just had to try it.

What a useless button that question mark is! It pulls up "One completely random post". Why in the world would anyone want that on this site?

Since we're digging up the shadows of the past

there was once this guy who was asked what he thought of the DP. And this is what he said.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

thank this person who requested it a year ago:

"You underestimate the character of man." | "So be off now, and set about it." | Up for a game?

Thank *you*

And thank the person who started this thread - I should have been a little faster to issue my thanks - glad others like the feature too.

heh, I should have been faster in implementing it

I knew it was a good idea when I read it.

It is a great idea you had

I never would have come up with it myself but really find it helpful!

I found it quite strange

that some of the time I couldn't even find a recent post that would have bumped it in the first place. Maybe I just don't have the innerwebs figured out.

I was going to bump this up but then...

I looked at the date and realized, that's so yesterdays news.

But seriously... yes, that's helpful.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

Yes

Agreed,

Half the time I don't even realise its an old thread.

Although there are some old gems that I am glad were bumped.

Yes, but the gems are too few and far between.

There has been a rash of old posts on the most viewed list these past few days. It is very annoying. I have to remind myself to look at the date of the post on that list so I can ignore the post.

If there is something relevant to a current discussion on the list, the link will be in a comment in a current thread.

Definately have to agree

there!, Like this right now - "Tom Woods puts Rand Paul on the spot on dad's campaign & bizarre Texas endorsement 05/19/12"

Why is this relevent to now?

Why is so much of this old stuff being bumped?

Hey DZ

..have you noticed the reappearance of "concern trolls"?
Hand-in-hand with these ghost-posts popping up.

Here's another question.

Why are there new posts (not comments but, posts) being made by a few people who have been here for about 4 - 6 years, yet they haven't had a single word to say to anything here for many, many months?

I wonder about things like that.

―Emmet Fox

Do you mean like JacciC's very nice

and highly ranked "Thank you all DPer's"?

I'm guessing that we actually need some real trolls here to stir things up instead of looking for interest in old threads. :-)

No, wasn't thinking of JacciC's at all.

JC's is a relative newbie who could have been quietly in the background reading and learning. I meant people who have been here for years and I don't even recognize their screen names. I lurked here for years and am able to recognize many names from those lurking days. Even got to know a few of them after I joined in. Hey! Wait a minute. Maybe you should suspect me!

Haha

Nonna is a spy. . hehe

Nonna's cant be spy's, they are too nice.

Or maybe . . . Are you working for the mafia Nonna!

Don't go there. It's insulting. And don't touch my pasta pot!

It does make the cogs tick over

I thought it had died off around here, but i think they are getting smarter, if you can call it that.

We must be doing something right.

NONNA:That is SOOOO Weird!

..I'd noticed that also...scratching my head on that one.

I call them "GHOST POSTS".

"Beyond the blackened skyline, beyond the smoky rain, dreams never turned to ashes up until.........

Yeah

. . just like sleeper cells, and it seems to be coordinated sometimes.

Micheal and the boys have done a pretty damn good job as things seem alot better then they have been, but I'm sure there are a few still lurking.

Seriously, this bumping of

Seriously, this bumping of old threads is driving me crazy.

Probably troll motives possibly involved, perhaps to drive

new potential information that could be popular from getting attention. Why else would folks bump old things and sound apathetic all the time about the movement as opposed to brainstorming on new ideas. Many are well educated, but why would you want to discourage liberty with condescending apathetic comments, I would think many should know this, and not treat this as mental issues among DPers who do this, seriously, it's to transparent for me, or maybe I'm crazy, but my gut tells me there are many trolls here trying discourage anyone's passion towards individual freedom, especially if they'r using politics as their vehicle. That's my two cents, hell if I know, onward for liberty!!!!!!!!
