Your iPhone Knows Exactly Where You’ve Been And How Long

You might not realize it but your iPhone has been recording exactly where you’ve been and how long you spent there.

To access Frequent Locations, open your iPhone’s “Settings” menu, select “Privacy”, then “Location Services”, then scroll all the way down to “System Services”

In System Services scroll all the way down to the bottom, press “Frequent Locations” and look at the “History” section. Click on one of the area names to see where you’ve been.

It's not your phone knowing

It's not your phone knowing where you are that is the problem. The problem is that they are recording your gps signal locations and every ping to every cell tower. Go ahead and get a flip phone it isn't going to make a difference.

I think I may get another flip phone when my current one finally dies.(its already like 8 years old)

I found it odd that it isn't reliable where I am though.

does it work for iphone 4s?

I don't see that setting under system services

Perhaps Apple Should Rename the Iphone to Eyephone

The roving eye of government follows you everywhere and denies you the the natural right to privacy. I'm so glad I don't own one.

So Droid Can't do this?

Just wondering if this is exclusive to Apple devices or not.

Not just intel agencies.

Not just intel agencies. Smart phones have the worst security of all electronic devices. There are plenty of How-To's out there on the net. If they can identify your location -even if it's only historical- then someone can determine when you will be home, or where you work, or where your significant other lives.

Plenty of information can be deduced from metadata; which is why the government desires the metadata more than the actual contents.

couple with dropcam and you have gold

Not only can we hack anyone who accesses DailyPaul from their phone and find their location habits, but we can lift all the dropcam images and just hit the 'blackmail all' link on the video management app.

I love taking clips of them in front of their porn and sending it to their mom with the caption "Look ma One Hand! just dropped millions of your grandchildren on their head - Bad Daddy! -see ya mother's day"

What's a dropcam?

curious?
