Nineteen Minutes page 313
The book in question, ”Nineteen Minutes” by author Jodi Picoult, is about a school shooting taking place in a fictitious New Hampshire town, and it contains themes of student violence, bullying, and sexual aggression. There is one particularly provocative and graphic depiction of violent, drunken sex between two teens in the story on page 313. Click here to read the passage (warning: graphic language and explicit sexual content).

Geez,

I'm not a prude but this 'literature' is total soft-core porn. Totally not appropriate to be serving this up in public schools.

And even more WMUR coverage

WMUR keeps posting many more videos on this story. This is the last video from them I'll post (at least for a while). If interested in more, check out their youtube channel page.

The moron parents who claimed

The moron parents who claimed the porno pages brought up 'good conversation' -- Can you imagine?
If CPS raided your house and found this perverted s-h-i-t, they would take your kids away!
This is not only sick, it's evil. No wonder kids are cutting themselves and killing themselves. The culture celebrates brutality and if you protest that brutality they deem you the brute and haul you away.

Parents are Morons because they went to the same 'schools'

from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and beyond.

This destructive agenda has been going on for a century. The most obvious and worst attacks accelerated in the 1960s.

The worst part of it doesn't even have to do with sexuality (which seems to get most people's attention). They are pushing an agenda. They are dumbing you and your kids down, while indoctinating you.

I'm thinking students were invited to this meeting

to prevent the parents from referencing the explicit book passages.

Why would that prevent it if...

...it was required reading?

Freedom is the ability to do what you want to do.
Liberty is the ability to do what you ought to do.
"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." 2 Corinthians 3:17

I mean parents referencing it during the meeting

which likely would have embarrassed the board members. So the students present at the meeting are unwitting lackeys of the board and the cop is a witting lackey of the board. Both made stunning performances as the students ensured parents would not invoke explicit book passages during a civil meeting while the cop arrests the timebreaker aka the troublemaker aka the disorderly conductor.

Go on the Offensive - File Contributing to Delinquency of Minors

File criminal charges under pornography laws against the individuals who approved this and any teachers who 'taught' this.

Make a big fuss about this.

Adults have the right to read/watch what they want. The people pushing this on kids have an agenda and its extremely destructive. Go after them in the courts and in the battle of public opinion.

I was thinking the same thing last night

Up here in Canada, if I were to give literature of this nature to a 14yr old, I would be arrested and charged for child endangerment and sex related crimes, which would put me on a sex offender list for life

I believe that the administrator who allowed for this to happen should be held to the same standard

On the other hand if the students were in their senior year (17-18) I would not have the same problem

The issue here for me is that book is being forced on minors

The problem with seniors being assigned

such a book, is that they haven't been provided the skills needed to evaluate it. That is they aren't taught how to gather data & facts. They aren't taught how to spot logical fallacies & aren't taught critical thinking skills. They aren't taught how to come up with their own solutions or to communicate that effectively in writing & by voice in order to put their ideas in action. (Children of the so-called 'elites' are taught all these skills in private prep schools - Andover, Groton, etc .)

Instead, they are indoctrinated and they have no mental defense against it. My nephew had an 'earth sciences' class. The 'teacher' pushed the man made global warming agenda with the foundation supplied reading materials he was provided. When my nephew tried to ask about Climategate and opposing views of some climate scientists, he was stopped in his tracks. NO ARGUMENT. The issue is settled !

There's more to this than some book and its soft porn passages. This fits within a broader agenda being pushed.

I sure agree with that there

I sure agree with that there is a broader agenda at work here. The destruction of a society is unfolding before our eyes.

Spot On!

Agreed. We should all learn this tactic.

Great idea!

Racy.

I think it would be great if this cop has a daughter who gets knocked up by a local boy who gets horned up after reading this approved book. That would be poetic justice. This is probably a common core approved book. Proof that our law enforcement has no common sense.

The arrest was pre - planned.

I mean, why would there even be a police officer present at this meeting? That would be highly unorthodox and conspicuous, don't you think?

I think it is clear that the authoritarian school board knew that there would be some pretty strong protests, so they arranged to have one of their thugs there to haul off somebody who stepped out of line. "...the man come and take you away..." (Buffalo Springfield, "For What It's Worth")

The most pathetic thing I saw in the video was none of the other parents stood up and stood with the man being forcibly arrested and escorted out.

Everyone sat there like good old unempowered slaves and did nothing. Absolutely pathetic!

As for Baer's contention that there is no way to publicly interact with the school board, Superintendent Kent Hemingway said it's a two-step process. After an issue is brought to the board's attention, such as what happened Monday night, it can become an agenda item.

"At that time, that discussion can involve the public or it could take place between the board and administration," Hemingway said.

The leadership committee of the school district met Tuesday morning and said another change officials are considering is having a curriculum committee that would include members of the public.

Baer said he will fight his arrest. If convicted, he could be fined up to $1,200.

He should sue the police department

for allowing their officers to use arrest as a means of restoring order in public meetings that are in enclosed rooms. It would be a better policy to have a person breaking a rule in an enclosed room removed rather than having them arrested.

Arrests should be reserved for officials who have taken oaths or affirmations to protect the rights of the people and have violated the people, not for arrests of people who offend public servants and their "rules".

Gilligan's picture

Here's Part 2 of the video ...

... his daughter addresses the board after watching her father get arrested:

"The first thing you people do is resort to force ... I don't feel safe around you people."

That man is raising a fine daughter. And is being undermined by a government school.

Best photo of Ginger that I've seen

She was always too 'made up' from what I saw on t.v., but she looks great there.

Thank you, Gilligan (and BT for the original post)!

Well said!

I would have loved to have seen her fill up her 2 minutes with more speech that convicted them as authoritarian thugs.

However what she did say was absolutely fantastic.

He should've

just read the offensive page(s) with his time.

We need more people to do as this man did.

If he'd just read it this would not be in the news.

We need heroes like this to bring the bigger issues of pur police state, school board corruption and trampling of parental rights to the forefront.

arrested? pathetic.

i read ONE book in high school.
Used cliff notes for all of the other assigned readings, and got good grades.
Public schools are a joke in many ways.

The guy is a lawyer right?

The guy is a lawyer right? That should mean he can do his own lawsuit paperwork for free.

Sue the school district, and sue the cop personally (not the department)
for violating your free speech rights. Maybe you don't win, but the cop will have to spend money on a lawyer to fight it. You can beat the rap but you can't beat the ride.

I would like to see it happen

I have just gained custody of our grandson and he will not read filth like that. I will have to be taken out of the picture and my grandson will have to be forced against his will.

The man that was arrested has an excellent daughter. I appreciate her. The police officer that arrested the man is a disgrace to his badge.
