FEC Chair Warns 'Drudge Report' and other Media: The Obama Administration May Try to Regulate 'You' as a PAC

“I think that there are impulses in the government every day to second guess and look into the editorial decisions of conservative publishers,” warned Federal Election Commission Chairman Lee E. Goodman in an interview.

“The right has begun to break the left’s media monopoly, particularly through new media outlets like the internet, and I sense that some on the left are starting to rethink the breadth of the media exemption and internet communications,” he added.

As I see it, (Libera_me) this is similar to the IRS scandal. As Judge Napolitano reminds us, the IRS has been used this way by more than one administration.

However, I sincerely wonder if any administration has been so blatant in its actions as this one. I also wonder if Libertarian sites will be lumped in as 'Conservative'.

The State is so afraid of liberty, the liberty movement and are

paranoid, as they are acting outside of law.

Drudge?

Drudge wasn't the author was he?

I was recently asked why Drudge is so popular. How did he do it?

Time is the single greatest factor. Almighty Google respects the first quality site in a given space but beyond that, Drudge really does pander to the "conservative" audience. It's a mix of hard news and titillating and salubrious content. In other words it's entertainment.

And plus, his content implicitly reinforces the left-right paradigm so there's the subtle ego boost of "we are right and they are not".

I give Drudge about 10 seconds of my time each morning just to see if I missed something but I do the same for BusinessInsider. Real hard news is increasingly rare on both of these sites.

They can't regulate what I'm PACking

One bump for Drudge

if they do it to him, who knows who else will be on their 'list'?

I'm pretty sure we can all

I'm pretty sure we can all come up with a quick list of the sites that won't be on their list.
