GOP Wants More Control Over Picking 2016 Nominee

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Republican National Committee wants to take more control over how the party picks a White House nominee.

The RNC was to meet Wednesday in Memphis, Tennessee, to choose members who will effectively set the calendar for 2016's long list of potential presidential contenders. If the party's chairman, Reince Priebus gets his way, the GOP will pick its nominee more quickly than during past contests and have fewer debates in which candidates could criticize each other.

The question is, on which day did God create Reince Priebus?

And could he have not rested on that day?

The

Rigging is on.

Strange ... Rand is in favor of this

Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, who is strongly considering a presidential run and is expected to receive Tea Party support if he does, offered careful praise for the move to limit debates. "I think maybe last time we had too many," he said. "And so I think some of the rules changes, as long as they’re towards things that will enhance the party as a whole, are not a bad idea."

Republicans Tighten Grip on Debates in 2016 Race

Taken together, these procedural steps could thwart an underfunded insurgent who needs the free exposure of televised debates and would be hurt by a series of rapid-fire contests in March that could be tilted toward an establishment-backed contender.

Mr. Priebus and other top Republicans had considered even stiffer penalties for candidates who do not comply with the new rules, including stripping them of convention delegates.

blah blah blah

fascist dictatorship, blah blah blah...

Huh?

I'm confused. You're telling me in addition to:
*Ignore Dr. Paul in the debates
*Bash him in the media
*Use intimidation and violence
*Break many of their own rules
*Count votes in secret
*Throw entire counties of votes out
*Steal Dr. Paul's delegates
*Steal funds from the state Republican groups taken over by Dr. Paul's supporters
*Deny Dr. Paul a speaking slot at the convention
*Drive Dr. Paul's delegates and convention supporters around in circles on their buses at the RNC in Tampa to keep them from weighing in on the illegal rule changes
*Illegally change the rules at the convention to prevent Dr. Paul from being nominated from the floor
...they feel the need to further change the rules to control the process?

Reading through the B S

I interpret this as ; the GOP establishment wants to rid itself from the burden of having to rig multiple elections & debates and concentrate on manipulating & rigging just the first few.

Ron Swanson

Ron Paul scared the hell out of them.

Ron Paul scarred the hell out of them. Period.

The debates that Doc Paul participated in his latest two Presidential runs made a lot of people question their understanding and beliefs of politics and liberty.

They are afraid of the vetting process, the caucuses and challenging the status quo.

Excluding whether or not you like them or not, they fear a Republican debate stage that would include Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Garry Johnson and whoever else you want to plug in there.

They want the stage set with pre-approved candidates like Jeb, Christie, Santorum, Romney, McCain, Gingrich, Huckabee , Giuliani etc...

Get involved in your local politics. Get involved in your local Republican party or REC. That was Dr. Paul's master plan and it's going to take some time. Beat them from within.

the last part of that article

was particularly scary, if a candidate violates the rules set forth by the RNC, they can win a state and still be stripped of the delegates, sounds like that could be slightly abused. Wow we sure aren't given many ways out left.

Reince Priebus HAS TO GO!!!

I had a lot to say about this

I had a lot to say about this article when I shared it with friends. Reince Priebus was hired by the Obama administration last year to "streamline" the 2016 elections. It doesn't matter what party. They are right out there telling you (some anonymously, what are they afraid of?) that elections don't matter. They don't care who we vote for. End of story.

The question I ask is why

The question I ask is why they wouldn't want to nominate who the people really support. I mean this as a real question. Is it about money? I would think they could raise more money with a candidate that people actually like.

I'm thinking the same thing!

Is the GOP just a bunch of control freaks or do they really not want to win again for some reason?

What the GOP don't want to admit is they have a split party...

and they think somehow if they can quash the liberty-minded Republicans early on then they'll go along with whoever they coronate to beat Hillary.

What they don't understand is Jeb and Hillary may as well run on the same ticket. Liberty-minded Republicans aren't going to vote for a Neo-con big government corporatist.

What liberty-minded Republicans need to realize is the GOP will only change when they hear the vacuum suction of voters leave the party to support a candidate in a third (second) party.

I wonder if it may be better

I wonder if it may be better to do a 3rd party push this time around. I mean, even Liberals are sick of Obama and Hillary and Libertarian conservatives wont tolerate another Bush. Also, I wonder about Rand. Will the establishment allow him to gain any traction? He has been playing it cool enough that it will be harder to marginalize him like his dad but they will need to hit him early as to not risk a split ticket going into the convention.

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

If Rand is not the GOP nominee, then definitely 3rd party...

...push.

If the GOP is going to be another front for international socialism like the democratic party, then the GOP should be allowed to die, and a truly conservative party should be established.

The Libertarian Party (official party), the Constitution Party, the TEA Party (unofficial) and Ron Paul republicans/liberty movement should forget their limited differences and form a legitimate liberty party.

If for no other reason than to break up the current false-two-party paradigm.

These old men running from father time are using well trained young men to fight for the Oligarchs...They've been doing this for years and now it is clear to many of us that they don't respect our minds, they respect the force and push back of dedicated American kick-as@..

Have you seen and heard the mentality of today's male youth..They are ignorant, selfish and useless. "America is gone" ~ Ron Paul

Some things never change, but there is a remnant

When Ahab and Jezebel ruled Israel, it looked to Elijah like he was all alone in opposing their wickedness, and holding up a righteous standard with God's help. Paul quoted Elijah's desperate prayer, and God's reply, as a reason for us to have hope in what may not be apparent at the time:

"Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
)But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. )Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace." - Romans 11:3-5

Job's three sage counselors failed to help him work through his suffering plight; but a younger man, Elihu, spoke up so well that God, Himself, picked up where he left off:

"And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.
)I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom. )But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
)Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
)Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion." - Job 32:6-10

We just don't know what might be possible, if we are open and available to be part of the solution, with God's help, eh?

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass
