Hello Christian and Erika,

What a beautiful couple you are. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I love the expressions on your faces on the "cover" of the you-tube clip. There's the proof right there of the wisdom of your words. :)

Happy Anniversary!

This message isn't just about marriage but about all relationships.

Beautiful!

Thx for sharing

Congrats!

and what a cute couple and wise words of wisdom. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Last year one of my brothers celebrated forty years of marriage.

This year another brother is celebrating forty years of marriage.

Next year I am celebrating forty years of marriage.

The first year does seem to be a difficult time because our expectations are not always the same and there has to be some adjustments on both individuals expectations.

Best Wishes to you both.

you all must have

great role models( parents and Grandparents) ! how long have they been married? your grandparents? your Mother and Father ?

Laurelai

My mom and dad

were married 53 years. It is interesting to watch the relationships and how everyone interacts.

My oldest brother and his wife, this is a second marriage for them both , so there is hope for people who remarry. They had both married the first time young and their spouses cheated on them.

My second brother was married 25 years and is divorced and he remains single, he married young.

My youngest brother's wife was married before (she was emotionally abused by her first husband) and my brother and she will celebrate 40 years this year.

My husband and I were never married before and celebrate 40 years next year.

I noticed that those who got divorced were married young 19 or early 20's.

I got married at 25. I decided I was immature at a younger age maybe I'm still immature . LOL

I was married at the age

of 20,my husband was 21.I did not think that 20 was young.in fact, I had felt like an old maid because many of the girls that I graduated with got married right after graduation . My husband was 17 when we met and I had JUST turned 16 .We were almost "joined at the hip".We had a great life together and three beautiful children until at age 41 I became an unexpected widow..my children's love for me got me through this horrible nightmare.

I had to learn all that Rich knew about being a great father because now I had to be one too. Guess my point is that when you feel so deeply for some one else's soul it doesn't matter your age.

Laurelai

Sorry for your loss

sounds you and your husband were mentally mature for your age.

I also grew up at a time if you weren't engaged by high school graduation you were doomed to be an old maid. I was always the contrary one and realized I needed to learn who I was before joining with another. I also realized, I was immature or at least marriage was not appealing to me at the time.

In my case, I am glad I waited.

I am so sorry for the loss of your true love.

I too thought 20 was 'old'. Lol. Now that my son is 17, I am rethinking that position. :)

May God Bless you!

thank you for your kind words

It's been nearly 20 years and I still miss his laugh and his kindness to others. He would help anyone @ any time..as one of his friends put it at his funeral service," he would help you even if he did't like you and when he was done he would tell you what an SOB you were"

My children were so fortunate to have a Dad who would let them lie under the sink,or crawl under cars with him as he did repairs, and even when they were in the way he made them feel as though they were"helping"
