U.S.A.I.D. To Spend $24.5 Million For Male Circumcisions In Swaziland - from ages 10 to 49 years old...

This sounds like a joke but it's not.

The UNCONSTITUTIONAL, THIEVING Federal Agency U.S.A.I.D. (which runs U.S. foreign aid programs), is using over 24 million dollars in U.S. taxpayer money to circumcise up to 200,000 males between the ages of 10 and 49 in Swaziland in Africa.

Why U.S. taxpayers allow this agency to even exist is beyond me.

And why the people of Swaziland are allowing the U.S. government to mutilate their males is even more perplexing.

Here are 2 links to this disturbing story...

Aside from giving my money away

I don't give a shit what they do in Swaziland. They are a bunch of reprobates anyway.

Oh really? What did anyone from Swaziland ever do to you?

Maybe you'd be good with us lobbing a few bombs on them.

Lets hear from T.J. on this ...

“To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves is sinful and tyrannical.”

Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a 100% fatality rate.
Don't Give me Liberty, I'll get up and get it myself!

Considering the male on male rape there

And the AIDS rate. It could be spent on worse things. That place for whatever reason has a particularly high male on male rape stats.

Sounds like you don't have a problem with this, Entrenched.

But we should not be spending American taxpayer money on this type of meddling overseas through the rotted agency U.S.A.I.D.

There is NO constitutional authority for congress to steal from American citizens and use it to mutilate foreigner's sex organs - or do anything else with it for that matter.

END ALL FOREIGN AID NOW...TO EVERY COUNTRY!

How can I get this story out to mainstream America? Any ideas?

Maybe if we could inform the American populace about this kind of thing, we could abolish USAID.

They get away with this stuff because no one has a clue about what they are up to.

The approval for their mischief is hidden in the subcommittes of congress where once in a while you can catch it on C-Span.

ABOLISH USAID NOW!!!

How will USAID actually get these males to volunteer?

Will coercion be used like in India sterilization procedures, which preyed upon the poorest women by offering them $10? Or will old-fashioned, involuntary brute force be used?

More than likely using

Swazi folklore. In the tribes getting circumsized was a traditional coming of age. But I guess it changed when they moved into cities. You can look it up - apparently the idea was that if you didn't do it you were haunted as an "evil boy".

Genital mutilation = desensitization = population reduction

next thing you know they will add fluoride to the water to "help" them have better teeth, not.

This medical practice needs

This medical practice needs to be stopped. In the modern day world there isnt a single reason for it. People say it is cleaner but for fucks sake, just teach people how to clean themselves properly!!

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Ok, Swaziland has a

Ok, Swaziland has a population of 1.2 million so using averages lets say 600,000 males. If you bulk order condoms you can probably get them for around $.10 each so:

24,000,000/.10= 240,000,000 condoms.

240,000,000/ 600,000= 400 Condoms per male.

If we are going to dump tones of money down this lets at least do it in a somewhat rational way.

Swazis weren't excited about condom use in 2003.

Apparently, they still are not. They believe that it has something to do with manhood. Getting circumcised as an adolescent or an adult will be even more unpopular, imo. Will they have this procedure forced on them for their own good by USAID?

US "Aid" $$$ going to genital mutilation (male)

Genital mutilation on human beings is a barbarous, horribly painful, and often permanently debilitating act that serves NO medical imperative whatever.

There is (finally) a worldwide revulsion among civilized people against the horrors of FEMALE genital mutilation! Why, however, are boys and men open targets for such brutality? Are male humans somehow so superfluous and irrelevant that THEIR agony and their bodily integrity doesn't count?

Home Sapiens-both male and female-ought to have long outgrown the savagery and sadism of this truly horrific practice. No $$$ for circumcision-in Africa, in the USA, or anywhere else!

"Cutting spending"

or spending, on cutting?

You're killing me Carlsbaddj!!! Cutting spending...

Too funny.

No insurance pays for circumcisions in the U.S. without a reason

The parents saying that they want it done doesn't count as a reason. The procedure is considered cosmetic and unnecessary, and so it's a cash up front procedure (about $300). If circumcision prevents HIV in Africa, it stands to reason that it should do the same thing here. They hammer kids with Hepatitis B vaccines when they are hours old to prevent Hep B transmission at a future time because of the $150/shot X 3 cost, imo. Gardasil is recommended for every child for the same reason $150/shot X 3. Circumcisions have become a luxury item.

I really cant think of any

I really cant think of any rational reason how circumcision will do anything whatsoever to stop HIV in Africa. In fact, I cant think of any real rational reason for circumcision at all...

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

When I was in high school one

When I was in high school one of my friends tore his foreskin while having sex with his girlfriend. Maybe not being circumcised increases the risk of tears in the foreskin resulting in more chances of infection.

I still think that we have more than enough problems here in the US to justify no more foreign aid of any sort. Fix our problems first. Then we can discuss the constitutionality of taxing US citizens to fix foreign problems.

...

SteveMT's picture

It has something to do with decreasing micro-trauma...

and/or reducing the surface area that the virus can attach to. Apparently the foreskin creates additional vaginal trauma during intercourse thus allowing the probability of viral transmission to increase. Removing the foreskin also theoretically reduce possible sites that the virus can attach to. Whether there is actual evidence for this or it's just anecdotal is unknown. The strain of HIV prevalent in Africa is less aggressive then what is in the States, which may also lower the actual transmission when combined with circumcising the males. That's what I believe the reasoning is for the push for circumcision. The males will have to be coerced in some way to do this or simply forced. This entire grant is a useless gesture and a waste of more money.

Interesting

Not exactly the kind of thing I look forward to reading with my coffee first thing in the morning but nonetheless I thank you for your intellectual reply.

WTF?

WTF?

I agree...WTF??? That's the question every American should...

...be asking.

But no one is.

And why are the males of that country allowing this mutilation? I would consider this an act of war.

I certainly am in the minority on it though verses most American sheeples.
