Jeb Bush: I Would Govern Like Lyndon Johnson As President

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said he would strive to be like Lyndon Johnson, the Democrat famous for expanding the U.S. welfare state through the “Great Society,” if he were elected president.

Creepy cronyist, another scary one from the Bush clan.

You know what happened...

“Great power often corrupts virtue; it invariably renders vice more malignant. . . . In proportion as the powers of government increase, both its own character and that of the people becomes worse.” — John Taylor of Caroline, 1814

I'd throw FDR and Lincoln in there too.

It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled. – Mark Twain

He's up there, but not quite the worst.

Lyndon Johnson was terrible, and should probably be somewhere in the top 8 worst presidents in history, but calling him the worst ever would ignore all the horrid policies of several of his predecessors which went well beyond The Great Society and Vietnam, namely FDR, Wilson, Lincoln and a few others. Whipping up a mob to get anti-WWI activists tarred and feathered is pretty tough to beat, let alone imprisoning hundreds of journalists for criticizing your total warfare policies within the continental U.S.

“My attitude toward progress has passed from antagonism to boredom. I have long ceased to argue with people who prefer Thursday to Wednesday because it is Thursday.” - G.K. Chesterton

Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, LBJ, and Nixon are my picks

for the worst (chronological order).

I believe you, Jeb. I guess

I really can't believe this man will be a GOP President....

if that happens, and it sure sounds like the push is on, then it will be perfectly obvious there is only one party, the oligarchy party and that's the end of the GOP party.
