Dominican Cabbie Suspended for wearing Nazi Armband.

"The city Taxi and Limousine Commission has suspended Gabriel Diaz for 30 days. Diaz, who also says we've been told 'lies' about the Holocaust, believes TLC infringed on his free speech. The Dominican cabbie says 'if a homosexual can walk around with a big rainbow flag,' he can wear his Nazi armband."

"A clueless cabbie named Gabriel Diaz has been suspended for wearing a Nazi swastika armband while on duty — and he whines that his rights are being violated"

Unsurprisingly this article does everything it can to paint Diaz as a kook. If Diaz were as disturbed as they make him out to be then why not just ignore him? Instead they spend the entirety of the article discrediting someone they believe is disturbed.

Diaz does raise some obvious points about free speech and our culture that picks and chooses what is acceptable political speech.

weird story

Am I the only one thinking that the ADL might have paid him to do it? They love to try to link questioning the holocaust with nazi ideology in the public consciousness, so they can show how "evil" revisionism is. He even describes himself as an actor, among other things. Just seems a bit odd.

As for free speech, yes he has the right to wear it, but not when he's on the job and representing the company.

The actor thing is weird

Sounds possible

I don't know if the TLC in NYC is a company. Rather it is a city agency that supplies the tags and medallions to the cab drivers.
