"Matt Drudge wipes his Twitter account clean of all posts - except one warning"

Although I wouldn't call it a "warning" I wholeheartedly agree:

The world-known Web news headliner has cleaned his Twitter account of all tweets and posts - except for a single, solitary message that strikes a somewhat ominous tone.

"In this manic Digital Age ... It's vital ... To clear your mind ... Constantly," he tweeted.

But that’s the only message that remains on his account. And he subsequently changed his profile background picture of a parrot pecking at another parrot.

I myself practice the "Be Still and Know" meditation by Roy Masters that was shared here on the DP by emalvani & I highly recommend it.

I've never tweeted.

Nor have I ever had a Facebook account. I don't think I missed a thing!

Back woods. old-fogie, out-dated - yep, and lovin' it!
(But I've been on the Daily Paul for over 6 years! Shhhh, don't tell anyone!)

Freedom is the ability to do what you want to do.
Liberty is the ability to do what you ought to do.
"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." 2 Corinthians 3:17

You, sir, have missed very

You, sir, have missed very little. I have had a Facebook account since about its founding, but back then it was decent. It was restricted to those who belonged to colleges, and it was a great tool for those to connect to others from different colleges and universities. From then it accepted democracy, and any tomfool with an email could sign up and join.

Same here..

I have seen the 'fruits' of facebook, and they are rotten with gossip, drama, lies, and ignorance. I wouldn't dream of 'tweeting' unless I decided to start my daily bowel movement report. Tweeting is for twits. But yeah, DP for six years. haha

have you guys every tried to unlink a youtube account

...from a email address? cant be done! I removed all comments, all playlist, all subs and deleted the account. Created a junk email account and associated it to my u tube acct. now every time I log in it still prompts me with the old and new account. I guess I really shouldn't complain about something for free on line... but you really have to wonder why they are trying to link everything you got online. After all we don't want to make it to easy for the nsa to track us. Peace!

No, because I abandoned my

No, because I abandoned my youtube account when it not longer let me login without verifying it to my Facebook account or something or other back in 2008-2009.

I delete everything on my facebook

every year. spring cleaning! There is never much there, but still don't see a reason to keep it around for eternity. so far, I haven't deleted my tweets but I suspect I will in time.

You only THINK you deleted it! Really, it's stored on a

Google barge out there either in San Francisco Bay, or somewhere in North Carolina near a small town whose name I forgot. Your profile will live on through Google after you die..

yes, I know that

But at least this way Facebook doesn't post a movie about me like they did everyone else. Your life story. ugh.

i no longer have cable.

feel calmer sleep better and saving 100$ bucks a month, i got netflix and i don't tweet, i peak at facebook once in a while. i have no clue what fairy tale the news is reading for the last month. i am sure if something bad happens in the world that would concern our liberty? we will get it here 1st on the daily Paul...

I don't know...

if Mr. Drudge watches television but if so then unplug the thing and never go back. Or rather unplug cable television and keep the thing plugged into the internet. If you take away the primary source of programming you will find an inner peace like you may have never known. You will be more pissed off than you have ever been before as you come to know the real world; but at the same time there is happiness in life I had never known enslaved to the tube. I realized that my imagination still works and its fucking awesome!

People still Tweet and Facebook ?

Glad I have my own method

"ooo wat an ass ayam" won't do it for most but glad it works for you.

I've been ignoring the news

I've been ignoring the news for about a week. I feel rested.

I spent the day playing with a humming bird the other day. No joke. I have pictures of myself holding this humming bird. Not sure how to upload them to this. I wish I could say this was sort of a once in a lifetime thing but I've held several hummingbirds. They are not afraid of me. I also seem to attract injured or orphaned animals. I tend to them and nurture them to health. I feel like this is something I need to become more in touch with. Perhaps if I block out some of the other garbage I can become more in tuned with what nature is trying to tell me.

Interesting. Thanks.

Good advice

I agree. I recently fired all my friends on Facebook and got off it, except for my EditorMelinda page which I need for my business. There is a season for everything. We need to remember there is also a season for stepping away from social media for a bit. I've been spending a lot more time lately just sitting out on the grass petting baby goats. There will be plenty more things to get fired up about tomorrow, the news never stops.

You can get a free account on Hubpages or Wix or

a low cost website of your own. Why would you want to keep a Facebook account even for business? Forgive me, but I don't know why people have accounts there if they have businesses when there are low-cost or no-cost alternatives.

Me too!

I've been free of the Facebook shackles for about 2 weeks and it feels great!!!!

I just recently did the same

I just recently did the same thing as well; deleted Facebook.

First couple days it felt weird not logging in, but it's been 3 months now and I don't even think about it anymore. And guess what's happened since then? The people that I really care about, I personally contact them, and have a conversation with them. It's definitely a lot more refreshing then scrolling down my news feed and seeing everybody is still alive. I also calculated I was spending a total of 20 minutes a day on Facebook. So now I take that extra 20 minutes and add it to a workout routine. Much more productive!

I'm not everybody should delete Facebook, but I would encourage everybody to at least take a breather if not delete it.

I hear ya

I am having to go live with facebook, instagram, bleh, bleh, bleh. Not because I want to but because I have to.

They are all free messaging apps on phones the kids are all growing up to need. How can I teach them the ins and outs of this stuff unless I learn it myself.

Keeping them away from it is like neglecting to teach them to swim in water.
