"Pro-Choice" sure looks a lot like murder to me.

Sorry folks. This one really got to me. I'm having a hard time with how cavalier these ladies are in describing the process of physically tearing apart and ending a human life.

Wanted to hear your thoughts.

hey telepathic

thanks for posting that. i thought i'd seen all of carlin's work. i don't know how i missed this, but maybe because some self appointed anti choice fanatic keeps taking them down. carlin's piece on climate change is also quite brilliant. anyways here it is until someone takes it down again.

You are very welcome!

Carlin is brilliant stand up comic in so many different ways.

People should watch comics and it would expand people's horizons of understanding so much. For me the true comics to watch are especially Carlin, Bill Hicks, Doug Stanhope, David Cross, Louis CK and then Andy Kaufman who just was something completely else in his own brilliant way.

Yes, Carlin's clip on the saving the planet is one true classic.

if you haven't checked out

Bill Burr I do recommend.

& here's Bill's podcast with Doug as his guest.
I can't wait to listen to this one!

I know Bill Burr

but I haven't listen much of him.

Thanks for the podcast with Doug. Just started to listen it.

"Air is the very substance of our freedom, the substance of superhuman joy....aerial joy is freedom."--Gaston Bachelard--

The podcasts are hit and miss

He does so many of them and he doesn't edit. I listened to that one but found it only okay.

But check out some Burr's stand up when you have the time. He kills. Like Stanhope I find people either love him or hate him.

I agree

I only listened the beginning of the podcast.

I love Stanhope till 2008. No Refunds and stuff before that are very good, but I think most of his stand up comedy afterwards hasn't reached lately the same standard. But No Refunds show was absolutely fantastic.

When I have time I will listen Burr's stand up

What is the problem?

Are pro life people angry that abortion is legal? Or are they angry because a fetus is being killed?

If the latter, then ask yourself if making abortions illegal will prevent or even lower the number of abortions.

If you want to reduce abortions then there must be a better way than making it illegal. Tackle the problem and not the symptom (abortion).

The same could be said for murder in general.

I agree that prohibition does not keep bad things from happening. Since that is the case, should we have no laws against murder? What is the better way to deal with that situation?

Michael Nystrom's picture

They are angry at themselves

But they can't admit that.

Who would ever admit that?

Since they can't admit it, they direct their anger outwards.

Tackle the problem and not the symptom (abortion).

You are absolutely correct.

What is the problem?

It is a lack of love.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

I disagree..

Ron Paul isn't angry.

People that believe they are trying to save lives aren't angry. People that believe teaching a society that abortion 'on demand' weakens our humanity aren't angry.

Hang out in an abortion clinic one time for two hours and observe. Ill bet you $100... you will leave angry.

Welp. Time to hit the proverbial sack.

Thanks all for the mostly respectful discussion. If I said anything that was offsides, I apologize. I get riled up from time to time. I'll try to check in tomorrow to respond to any comments that I may miss between now and then.

Oh, and to Mr. Raceboy. Thanks for referring to me as "kiddo." Condescending remarks are a great way to get your points across.

Don't play the victim after

Don't play the victim after refusing to deal with any of the logical points I made about the absolute futility of a war on abortion and the obvious harm it will cause everywhere else.

Being nice about it hasn't worked so sometimes you need to shock people out of their slumber. I'm tired of people calling themselves "libertarians" when they are, in fact, far from it and they confuse the issue and that's exactly what the powers at be want them to do. It's pure manipulation.

Limited government? There's no such thing! LOL That's akin to making a deal with the devil and expecting the devil to hold up his end of the bargain; it childishly naive.

Sometimes the hardest things to see are those things right under your nose and all of this is literally right under your nose.

"In reality, the Constitution itself is incapable of achieving what we would like in limiting government power, no matter how well written."

I have responded, yet again, to all of your points.

I will let the community decide if my arguments are logical fallacies or not.

If you take the time to read my responses, you will find that Ron Paul explicitly states that he believes "limited government" is in fact a "thing" and he affirms it as his personal philosophy of how a government should work. I suggest you find a new hero, as his publicly stated ideology does not fit your own.

"kiddo" is a term of endearment around here

Spread the love, kiddo

“With laws shall our land be built up, but with lawlessness laid waste.”
-Njal Thorgeirsson

Kiddo is a term of endearment when addressing

a child. It is condescending when it is used to address an adult during a debate on ideology. The intent is to paint the other parties argument in a childish light in the hopes that others will see the argument as such.

con·de·scen·sion
noun: condescension; plural noun: condescensions
an attitude of patronizing superiority; disdain.
"a tone of condescension"

aren't we all children

In the eyes of God?

-Njal Thorgeirsson

LOL

God can condescend to me by calling me "kiddo" all he wants. You folks on the other hand may refer to me as Sir Winningpants.

You have to love (or cry at)

You have to love (or cry at) the irony of a bunch of people who call themselves "libertarians" arguing for the next war on drugs. A gov war on abortion will be just as unsuccessful as the war on drugs and will have the exact same results when it comes to destroying the rest of our liberties.

You are focusing on the wrong problem. The real solution to minimize the demand for abortion is to make society truly free. Get the state out of the adoption business. Make it so anyone can sell a baby to anybody without a gov permit required and then people won't have to go to China and Africa to adopt babies.

Come on guys, start using your minds instead of your emotions.

Are you serious?

A quick google search of 'Sell baby for' nets 55M results.

The top results include:

Gary Woman Admits Selling Baby For Sex

Chinese couple sells babies for iPhones and shoes

Mom Sells Baby for $15K to Pay for Trip to Disney World: Cops

Couple Tries Selling Baby for $25 In Walmart Parking Lot

The state didn't have anything to do with those baby sales.. luckily the justice system had a lot to do with their punishment.

I really hope that you are just being a ruse.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

Agreed

But I don't think locales should be prevented from engaging in such a war by the federal government if they want to seek a fool's errand. Let the people scatter where they will, and let locales do what they will, within reasonable limits. Banning medical services that are considered murder is within the rights of a locale, and does not constitute any violation of what we might consider a basic minimum of rights that the constitution should require the federal government step in to protect.

excellent comment

Thanks

Instead of downvoting, why

Instead of downvoting, why not comment? What are you afraid of? Or is it that you just don't have a logical reasoned response so it's just easier to hit a button, because that's what it looks like to me.

Plenty of responses to your comments below

That you have yet to respond to.

Responded to all of them.

Responded to all of them. Try responding back with an actual argument and not a logical fallacy.

And I have responded yet again.

As stated above, I'll let the community determine if my arguments are logical fallacies or not.

VIP = Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy

That is what it was called in the 1990s. I don't know if an abortion goes by another name now or not. PTSD. I stopped the video halfway through. The medical students got to examine the suctioned-out fetal tissue to make sure nothing was moving. We gave the nurses a break from this required post-VIP procedure to document that nothing survived. They appreciated not having to do this all of the time. Sometimes there were recognizable parts that could be seen with the inspection. In some ways, it was a very easy time to forget about, but not in other ways.

Yup, you are right. It is.

Takes 2 to Tango...

I have never understood why it is always assumed that it is the woman's choice alone. Barring the obvious, intercourse is a mutual decision, and the woman allows the man's property (sperm) into her body to create a new life form.

So, why does the man not have any say in the matter???? I agree with the comment below, don't have intercourse if you don't want a child, and in addition, it should at LEAST take unanimous consent (man and woman) to abort a child.

We need a new Roe v. Wade where the man sues the woman for aborting his property without his consent!!!!

That being said, I don't agree with abortion and I believe it is murder. The "you are not going to stop it, like drug use" argument is weak. Why not just legalize all murder with that reasoning?

It is not like drug use or putting things in your body... you have agreed to accept a man's property into your body and create a life form together...you can't then destroy his property without consent.

Where have all the men gone in this weak, effeminized, politically correct society that is mad I tell you!!!!!????

Wouldn't it be nice

if pro choice meant taking responsibility for never getting pregnant in the first place.

But what if you made a mistake and did not practice the proper birth control to prevent a pregnancy? There is something called the morning after pill.

How many needless abortions would that little pill prevent?

still taking a life...

regardless of how small the new life form is...
