A Continuing Observation & Irritation (CNN)
Submitted by JerryB9105 on Thu, 01/31/2008 - 16:52We all know how RON PAUL was treated poorly at yesterday's debate hosted by CNN (January 30, 2008); obviously Anderson Cooper was the lead in the debate fiasco and should rightfully be held responsible for his extremely unprofessional approach as regards unequal time allotted both HUCKABEE and especially RON PAUL. I say especially RON PAUL not only because he is my favorite in this Presidential Race but because as bad as HUCKABEE was treated (excluded) -- RON PAUL was excluded even more so.
While watching this debate, something else caught my eye and I'm going to show you guys an example of an advertisement caption CNN used, it's titled Election Center 2008, it's not the exact same caption but it's close and according to the 'update stamp' towards the topmost section of the caption it attest to something the CNN folks intended on purpose -- i.e., to exclude RON PAUL as much as possible.
A similar caption (with no RON PAUL) aired during the actual debate.

ONLY 3 REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES SHOWN -- NO RON PAUL.
updated 4:32 p.m EST, January 30, 2008
It's obvious that CNN tried to 'balance' their artwork by matching 3 Republicans against 3 Democrats // although EDWARDS had dropped out way before this update time indicates. This should be understood based upon BREAKING NEWS provided by this other news source hours earlier.

GIULIANI had earlier announced his intent to abandon the Presidential Race // At least CNN got it right by not showing his photo.
This stands as a blatant slap in the face to RON PAUL and his supporters and all America. The media should not be allowed to continue this behavior. It's un-American. And in this case it should be considered un-Patriotic.

Here is what I sent to CNN.
Dear CNN
Which I now am beginning to believe stands for “Communist News Network”, due to your censoring of a United States Presidential Candidate - Ron Paul. It is obvious that Ron Paul scares you with his “truth telling” of how our government and our whole society have been taken over by unscrupulous multinational corporations. Yes this is you and your friends he is speaking of but then again you already know, as this is why you attempt to censor the truth.
Anderson Cooper, I actually really used to like and respect you and there are very few “TV Personalities” who make the cut, trust me. That was then and now after your pathetic behavior as dictator of the Mitt and McCain dog and pony show, you have proven your self another puppet of the system. I as well used to work for a large corporation but left the politics and corruption to regain my dignity and self worth. My point in this is I know inside your mind and heart you know this “Debate” was pathetic and manipulative. I am sure you have asked yourself just as all of us are asking ourselves, since when is it the job or duty of the media to pick our leaders. I truly hope you had a difficult time sleeping that night after the “Debate” god knows I would have, but once again I have my dignity and you as of yet do not seem to be concerned with such.
I as well will make every attempt to not support any company affiliated with CNN in any way. I will most definitely never watch your Propaganda again and will make every attempt to spread the word to my friends and family and well anyone I run into for that matter.
Heil CNN our leader, NOT!
One of my friends asked why I supported Ron Paul so whole-heartedly and I told him that Ron Paul was Inspiring, Honest and in it for the USA, not his own PAY DAY!
You cannot stop inspiration from and admiration of truth as it will set you free, just ask Martin Luther King.
PS
Martin Luther King would be ashamed of CNN.
Signed,
X-CNN Supporter

I watched the Democrat battle (debate) last night and saw the exact same thing being used again, i.e., that Election 2008 Photo Advertisement showing the 'active' candidates. To CNN's credit (or maybe to their continuing efforts to confuse and mislead the viewing audience) the Photo Advertisement still shows EDWARDS; and sadly and wrongly it still omits RON PAUL.
And here's another observation for you that elect not to have anything to do with the Democrat issues -- the audience seemed shocked to learn that MCCAIN had mentioned any intent to keep us in Iraq for the next 100 years or so. There was a cry of disbelief (believe that's what I heard) that came from the audience and some acknowledgement of that from both OBAMA and CLINTON as if to say 'see there, that's the Republican Plan for America' //
There were numerous references to their intent to bring our troops home from Iraq and each and every time it was capped by saying that the Republicans all disagree with this. No mention of RON PAUL saying this exact same thing, leaving an impression that ALL Republicans want to keep us there indefinitely. That upset me hearing them build their platform on something that's not quite true. Am I naive? Don't answer that.
They mentioned MCCAIN's name a couple of times, they seem to have accepted him as their final opponent. Another thing I particularily didn't like hearing.
There was a camera switch once to the crowds mulling around outside the auditorium and there was one of us holding up a banner that clearly could be seen that said RON PAUL. That simple but important little indication that RON PAUL is alive and doing well made the torture of watching the Democrat debate well worth the effort.
Just some things to pass in your direction.

Today is 4 February -- I saw again this evening the exact same Photo Advertisement of the Candidates on TV for the Two Major Political Parties // the exact same Photo I started complaining about last week. Nothing has changed, the darn thing still showed EDWARDS (which I could care less about the truth be known) but it also continues to omit RON PAUL (which I care tremendously about) -- How in the hell do they continue to get away with this slap in the face?
I know how it works -- Out of Sight; Out of Mind. Well it's really not working other than continuing to get my nerves on edge.
Like I said, me talking to myself here because the truth is -- that darn Photo Advertisement will continue until hell freezes over and CNN will do nothing to update it accordingly. So beit.
