What can we do regarding media bias and the FCC?

I have been wondering for a long time, does anybody know what we can do, or what can be done, regarding the obvious media bias against Ron Paul with the FCC?

For what it was worth, I sent them the following letter:

Dear FCC Chairman and Commissioners,

I am writing to complain, to the strongest possible degree, of the blatant and egregious bias against, and outright censoring of, Republican candidate Ron Paul by ABC, CBS, and NBC, both on television and radio. Despite his having gained widespread and significant nationwide support, not only financially but in numbers of active supporters and voters, these FCC-licensed media channels have demonstrably marginalized him and continue to silence him and his message, even over other candidates with lesser support, polling numbers and votes. Many, many people have noticed and commented on this to me, and it has become so outrageously obvious that nobody, not you nor anyone else, could deny the reality of the active and ongoing media bias against him.

Given this situation, I would like to ask each of you, just exactly what can I do regarding this patent manipulation of public opinion by these media channels, and more importantly, just what do you plan to do about it? If you tell me nothing on both counts, then I can only conclude that true democracy, at least on a national level, is effectively dead in this country, and our media apparently exist only to preserve the political powers that be and the status-quo over the objections and desires of the American people, and without regard to any semblance of decency, fairness, or justice.

Sincerely,

XXXX XXXXX

Better yet...

...The ACLU, the 2nd Amendment Groups, Paulistas, Constitutional Attorney Groups, Texans against the Trans-Texas Corridor, opposition groups to the Oklahoma Corridor...etc, etc...need to join forces.

We're being hit from all sides to keep us fighting different fights in only small numbers on each front.

The FCC responded to a complaint I filed...

...they said they only monitor graphic images and language in tv and radio. Period.

The Supreme Court has ruled the media is not required to tell the truth in reporting.

Forget the media and canvass!!!!

Also, we have enough people to raise hell about the e-voting machines. We just have to come together as ONE group to do it.

The FCC can't do anything

Until they say one of the seven dirty words on the air. And even then, they might just consider it news and therefor exempt from any reprimand action.

tune them out and focus on our mission

National effort to bike for Ron Paul on April 26th...join the champions of constitutional canvasing, please sign up and get invovled...cost nothing and will be safe, fun and proactive for the campaign!

joez

Boycott. Boycott. Boycott.

Boycott. Boycott. Boycott.

what we 'can' do vs what we 'should' do

Yep, we can do all of this, complain, telephone, email, cancel service.....

What we SHOULD do is WIN. Real simple solution. Sign up to be a Precinct leader and Canvass, Canvass, Canvass. Then Get The Vote Out! Arrange to drive people, have after voting coffee or parties, whatever it takes. If all of Ron Paul's supporters actually showed up and voted, we'd p0wn them!

Then we can go back to complaining and suing the media---after we've taken care of business!

Ok..here is the

As you will see I called after that message and got my complaints "escalated to the legal dept."
The number is 1-888-callfcc. Best time to call is from 8-10am. Talk to the above, and just ask her.
ALSO please do as I suggest in my message every time you write any MSM.

Yes. There is a lot we CAN

Yes. There is a lot we CAN do..whether or not the FCC does anything, however, is another story. I suggest you read my post in another forum (I will come back with a link shortly), and then call the FCC, ask for the Supervisor, Sue, and ask her if sending examples of the msm or newspapers not presenting conflicting views, or editorials in support of other candidates while not allowing our candidate would assist their legal dept in checking out these allegations of ours. I do not know if it will, but we can email lots of examples if she says yes. I will be back with the link because you need to read the thread to see what I did.

Media BLACKOUT BOMB

How about THIS !
It occurred to me this morning...that with all the Blatant Disregard for Ron Paul...and the MEDIA BLACKOUT of the "People's Choice" that we could make a deafening ROAR...

IF EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US NATIONWIDE...CANCELLED OUR CABLE TV SERVICE....AND SHUT DOWN THE MSM

JUST IMAGINE WHAT THEY WOULD COME TO REALIZE...

THAT WE THE PEOPLE ARE THEIR BREAD AND BUTTER.....AND WE ARE MAD AS HELL!!!!
LET'S GIVE THEM WHAT THEY'VE GIVEN US.....NOTHING !

OK, so you'll miss a movie or two...go to blockbuster and rent a few...it would be cheaper...all we get for our monthly TV cable fees are re-runs and LIES IN THE NEWS.

THEY NEED US FAR MORE THAN WE NEED THEM !!!!!!

HERE'S THE PLAN:
Call your TV Cable Service on Saturday, February 2, 2008 and cancel your account.
YOUR REASON IS:
"I'm MAD AS HELL and I'm not going to take it anymore. The straw that broke the camels' back was the media blackouts of my choice for President of the United States and the lies-by-omission that are being propogated by the so called news.

I really think he just just

I really think he just just disregard the format and maybe be a little less polite to get the message out.
who cares...let the people see the biased MSM try and forcefully shut him up. I think he should just plan a speech and then when they finally ask him something just go into it, even if it has nothing to do with their bogus question!

I think the media hosts

I think the media hosts themselves need to stand up. If one person took on the fight on live television, just think what that would do. If on live tele he would throw down his clipboard and say they are not going to take it any more and walk off the air it would be amazing.

The coverage from other stations, the media that would attract, possibly motivating others to do the same.

He would surely loose his job but think how he would go down in history, and the move may trigger the best career any reporter could hope for!

One person, on national TV, could move a mountain. If someone would just take on the fight!

Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Nothing. The FCC (like the FEC) shouldn't exist.

It's not the FCC's job (thank GOD!) to make the news media fair, whatever "fair" means, and I say that as a longtime Ron Paul supporter who knows firsthand about media bias against libertarians. The FCC will always be a waste of money, and when they try to control speech they'll NEVER be fair. Record fines against Howard Stern while Oprah peddled soft core porn on TV without consequence aren't abnormal, they're USUAL. It's all about political control, and if you think they're interested in your or my freedom, you're sadly mistaken. Boycotts work, big government doesn't. Instead of writing letters to government bureaucrats, consider writing one to an advertiser.
