1,500 newspapers; 1,100 magazines; 9,000 radio & 1,500 TV stations; 2,400 publishers: All owned by just SIX corporations

http://youtu.be/0hxMaAAmaX0

Back in 1983, approximately 50 corporations controlled the vast majority of all news media in the United States. Today, ownership of the news media has been concentrated in the hands of just six incredibly powerful media corporations. These corporate behemoths control most of what we watch, hear and read every single day. They own television networks, cable channels, movie studios, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, music labels and even many of our favorite websites.

Virginia Ratifying Convention 6-16-1788

Mr. GRAYSON: "...Adverting to the clause investing Congress with the power of exclusive legislation in a district not exceeding "ten miles square", he said he had before expressed his doubts that this {431} district would be the favorite of the generality, and that it would be possible for them to give "EXCLUSIVE PRIVILEGES" of commerce to those residing within it. He had illustrated what he said by European examples. It might be said to be impracticable to exercise this power in this manner. Among the various laws and customs which pervaded Europe, there were "EXCLUSIVE PRIVILEGES" and immunities enjoyed in many places. "

"He thought that this ought to be "guarded AGAINST"; for should such"EXCLUSIVE PRIVILEGES" be granted to merchants residingwithin the ten miles square, it would be highly injurious to the inhabitants of OTHER PLACES."

Mr. GEORGE MASON "thought that there were few clauses in the Constitution "so dangerous as that" which gave Congress "exclusive power of legislation" within "ten miles square". Implication, he observed, was capable of any extension, and would probably be extended to augment the congressional powers. (APP NOTE: as presently found in "FEDERAL MANDATES" and undelegated powers) But here there was no need of implication. This clause gave them an unlimited authority, in every possible case, within that district. This ten miles square, says Mr. Mason, may set at defiance the laws of the surrounding states, and may, like the custom of the superstitious days of our ancestors, become the sanctuary of the blackest crimes. Here the federal courts are to sit. We have heard a good deal said of justice. ... "

APP: Note the sarcasm in George Mason's last sentence.

Mr. JAMES MADISON: Mr. Chairman: I did conceive, sir, that the clause under consideration was one of those parts which would speak its own praise. It is hardly necessary to say any thing concerning it. Strike it out of the system, and let me ask whether there would not be much larger scope for those dangers. I cannot comprehend that the power of legislating over a "small district", which "CANNOT EXCEED" "ten miles square", and may NOT BE "more" than "one" mile, will involve the dangers which he apprehends. If there be any knowledge in my mind of the nature of man, I should think it would bethe last thing that would enter into the mind of any man to grant"EXCLUSIVE ADVANTAGES", in a very "circumscribed district", to the "prejudice of the community at large". ......."The states may make what stipulation they please in it, and, if they apprehend ANY danger, they may "REFUSE it ALTOGETHER"."

DP is not owned by one of those 6.

Owned by me, obut pen to you -- Ron Paul supporters of the class of 2008 and 2012.

Talk about what you want. Don't limit yourself to the agenda set by the Big 6.

And The World, As We Know It......

....is being influenced in a positive way because of this website.

And NOT just the USA.....The DP is a WORLD-WIDE INFO SOURCE.

I only wish I had discovered it sooner.
"It" is being "discovered" everyday by many.

The "news" IS a tool to influence. Always has been.

That was the intention behind the "news."
The most amazing and effective form of of biased influence is the "unbiased" "news".

They've managed to convince generations of people that they are objectively reporting facts. And for many stories, that's exactly what they do...but only as a way to garner readership and engender the CONfidence of their audience.

They are masters at their craft and they've been so successful at earning the trust of the public that they've been thought of as the people's check against government corruption. HA!

When the moment is right, the news is used to steer the masses into cooperating or complying with terrible government and corporate initiatives.

Here's a formula they use:
1) Report an event.
2) Have a witness attest to the event.
3) Have an authority comment on the significance of the event.
4) Have the authority comment on the steps they are taking.

It's a brilliant strategy that relieves the viewer from having to investigate the claimed event, consider the significance of the event, or handle the event themselves.

Remember this, the press stated in the constitution is the printing press (not the news) and it has always been used to sway people. It should remain free from government regulation but never trusted as absolute.

Does

CBS really own NFL.com? According to that image it does. Did not know that. Very interested.

And so Clear Channel makes it 7 then? That is a Privately held Company by none other than BAIN CAPITAL.

BAIN CAPITAL aka "Mittens" Romney?

...Got it.

As far as RADIO "Stations":
I've watched as the listener's perceptions have been manipulated by the "programming changes" in the years since 2008....

...that's when Mittens bowed out of GOP-POTUS, deferring to McCain, and became active in MSM "AQUISITIONS".

One of those "aquisitions" took my favorite radio host off-the-air.
The only guy who seemed to "get it right", most of the time.

Documentary: The Corporation

The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power

The documentary shows the development of the contemporary business corporation, from a legal entity that originated as a government-chartered institution meant to affect specific public functions, to the rise of the modern commercial institution entitled to most of the legal rights of a person. The documentary concentrates mostly upon North American corporations, especially those of the United States. One theme is its assessment as a "personality", as a result of an 1886 case in the United States Supreme Court in which a statement by Chief Justice Morrison R. Waite[nb 1] led to corporations as "persons" having the same rights as human beings, based on the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
