GOP Leadership in 'Chaos' After Eric Cantor's Lose

"We're absolutely stunned."

By Billy House | National Journal

June 10, 2014
Befuddlement hit and lingered within the House GOP leadership ranks as Majority Leader Eric Cantor's election fate was unwinding on Tuesday. Cantor lost in a major upset to primary challenger Dave Brat.

Speaker John Boehner, in a statement from his office late Tuesday night, said, "Eric Cantor and I have gone through a lot together."

"He's a good friend and a great leader, and someone I've come to rely upon on a daily basis as we make the tough choices that come with governing," added Boehner, who said his thoughts Tuesday night were with Cantor, his wife Diana, and their kids.

Please change the misspelling

Please change the misspelling in your headline. It's annoying and looks bad.

bastard is laughing all the

bastard is laughing all the way to the bank with his 180k for life pension. Oh ya , free medical and don't his kids get free college also?

Personally I think this is

Personally I think this is all controlled opposition eyewash. If the "Tea Party" there is like the "Tea Party" here, then this candidate is just one more under cover establishment hack hiding under the guise of being Ron Paul tea party. What better way to maintain control while appeasing the peasants.
Guess we'll see. I predicted correctly with Rubio and others. By next year we'll know if I am correct about this one or not.

Maybe you got this one wrong. No "Tea Party" involvement.

Anything is possible

You're definitely taking a more cynical view on it, but that's not to say you're wrong. I still don't know very much about Brat, but I personally don't think the GOP would be willing to cut someone in Cantor's position.

I agree.

Cutting off people like Cantor makes it hard to recruit votes.

But I've had my suspicions as well about this being some sort of psy-op.

But, But, But,

Brat was "UNELECTABLE". How could he win? : )

Boner once again reveals his dreams of Lordship...

Once again we hear a clue to their dreams and goals... "...as we make the tough choices that come with governing..."

He is a servant who is there in foggy bottom to represent his state!

The administration, composed of hirees who are each employed as public servants, are limited to governing under a narrow set of enumerated duties, and can be fired by the people through their representatives, at any moment!

His job, and that which was Cantor's, is rather simple... keep the administration on track, out of our lives and rights, and away from harms way by avoiding bothering the rest of the world!

IE: learn to vote NO!

Boner is confused, or plagued by visions of grandeur!

Oh, I guess they all have the same disease!

we only rape them for their own good!

"...as we make the tough choices that come with governing..."

Bill of Rights /Amendment X: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Do you need a politician or judge to "interpret" those 28

Is this sarcasm?

Being elected to Congress is pretty serious, and there's nothing simple about "keeping the administration on track" or doing any of the other duties of a congressman. Our current 'servants' might not make right choices all that often, but to govern, REALLY govern for the people, definitely requires hard work and choices.

"To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world."

Like the modern day prophet said...

Keep it simple, just 'follow the Constitution'! Ron Paul

No one said it is not serious to be a watchman on the walls, to be a servant representative of your district charged with 'KEEPING' the Republic sound! No one said it is not serious to be charged with firing any and all public servants hired by the Executive branch, including the chief executive himself, to be charged with firing any supreme court justices who get out of line with the Constitution!

It is the very document which both creates them all, as well as defines their reason for existence!

Nothing in this says it is not serious!

But it is simple!

Unfortunately, such simplicity comes into conflict with the corrupt, devious, and perfidious pigs who are regularly returned to their mud-holes in DC, by the couch potatoes of America!

Changing that outcome is our problem!

Some of us intend to focus on just that outcome going forward. Stay tuned!

Here is what to do.

Go to DP FAQ #5.

Its like a funeral.....

I have only four letter words for him, and look forward to his departure. And Boehner's head is coming like Ned Stark's, whish !!!!

hm...voting machines break?

Doesn't make sense. How could an establishment candidate lose when the machines are perfectly rigged.

I'm speechless. Outraged!

Cantor To Resign From Leadership

It does not look like he is going to try to fight his way back in...

Bubble talk

Cantor’s emphasis on “as conservatives,” “conservative solutions,” and “conservative cause” reminds me of the saying, “If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”

The GOP establishment could take that hammer and build a monument to
their folly with such blind allegiance to their self-importance as so-called representatives of conservative stances and values.

Cantor’s defeat speech reflects the heady refusal of the establishment to recognize they have failed in their big boy mission. They just don't get that they need more than a hammer to restore the credibility and trust they have so effectively destroyed.

Boehner is the most

paranoid con-man in the district of criminals after that crushing defeat. Didn't even see it coming. Cantor was Boehner's right hand man in their criminal enterprise.

Wonder if Boehner is still "100% confident" that he will be "re-elected as speaker of the House of ill Repute.

GOP leadership has been in chaos for years.

The GOP establishment, after Tuesday, has determined that the result of primary elections do not accurately reflect party sentiment, and has announced it is changing primary rules to guarantee the candidates that the party feels will best represent it will be chosen. From now on, primary voters will be allowed to select one candidate from a list of one candidate, unless two candidates - who are also twins (mirror or fraternal) - are running for the same office. A clone of a candidate may not run in opposition to its parent, but must choose another elective office to contest in the general election.

Someone Effed up the Tapes on the Voting Machines

Heads are rolling at Diebold and the county elections office right now I'm sure! :)

Cantor didn't die, he lost an election.

I just wanted to say

Thank God and it would be good if John McCain, Harry Reid, and Nancy Poloshi, and few others were gone.

Did Boehner cry?

I hope he did. LOL!!
