Cato's David Boaz Not Very Supportive of Brat

Boaz attempts to chime in about Brat being out of the mainstream regarding immigration. The "Independents" on Fox presented Brat as sort of looney. What happened to the MSM honeymoon period? Give the guy a break.

Brat is the result of single issue voters being the majority

Immigration is not popular. My bet is people feel vulnerable when faced with a thirsty populace yearning for welfare benefits. They feel exposed and vote against further expansion until and unless the borders are really sealed. (No easy task)

Can the border be really sealed? Ask the North Koreans or East Germans. Their issue is preventing people from leaving. I guess our job is a little easier, but it is a tough problem. You want to stop illegal immigration? Make all employers, great and small, vet employees thru a clearing house of eligibility. It's not difficult to vet SSN numbers. That stops illegals and prevents big business from using them, which stops their push on the pub side.

Nice! Don't worry about the nice people in washington putting your number on the no-work list because your political views matrix fusion center score was too high. As long as we keep electing good conservative libertarians to office they will make sure the regulators set the threshold level above your score.

Ha! Right, the nice government in Washington would never imprison its own subjects like those bad people in North Korea and Germany would.

Let me see, I seem to remember ONE politician who questioned the nice-ness of the government in Washington? I'm thinking...It wasn't people like Brat or people like you. It wasn't David Boaz either. He--like you--would never worry about the nice people in Washington pointing the barbed wire on their Berlin wall in the wrong direction.

Oh yeah, it was Ron Paul in one of those debates. He had a whole different idea than you or David Boaz. He said you can't trust the government and the military industrial complex to build Berlin walls and militarize the border because they are doing it to lock us in, steal whatever property we have left, and enslave us further.

The other debate candidates and the media went ballistic when Ron said that, remember? Wouldn't it be cool if there was a libertarian running in 2016 who wasn't afraid of telling Fox News or CATO or MSNBC the real reason that America's Berlin wall must come down?
