Ron Paul: Give Iraq Nothing

US News: As jihadi rebels advance toward Baghdad after capturing much of Iraq’s north, former Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, says America’s chickens are coming home to roost and the U.S. should provide absolutely no assistance to the Iraqi government.

“Give them nothing,” the former presidential candidate advises. “The people in that country have to deal with it.”

...

“We have a choice: Should we work real hard to preserve a government [in Iraq] that may become a very, very close ally with Iran, or should we throw our support with al-Qaida, which we have done in the past?” Paul says. “I don’t want to pick between the two.”

We were trying to make the

We were trying to make the area safe for US corporate interests, but we didn't have the will, there wasn't a way. It was a bad idea the whole time. Ron Paul has the greatest foresight because he holds on to his foundational principles.

There are many valuable resources in Iraq, which Western interests would like to exploit. The Iraqis are saying NO! If the US military and corporate interests want to win, they will have to kill everyone in the middle east--there is not a good enough excuse yet to commit such large scale atrocities, but no doubt it is in the works.

I feel great sympathy for the people of Iraq. The country is destroyed, there is no worthy leadership, and the area will continue to be a target of mad men.

The US military has used brute force to create a presence in Iraq. The US had the technological advantage, but a technological advantage will never defeat the will of the people. The "enemy" in Iraq, what they are really doing, from their perspective, is defending their country.

We ought to abandon the operation 100%--totally and completely. We have given the Iraqis enough trouble already, we can't help them, this much is clear.

I feel personal sorrow that a government which pretends to represent me, a government which has stolen my money as I sit by complacently, has caused so much pain for people overseas. If I could apologize to the Iraqi people I would, but I can't, so instead let's leave them alone.

Like just about everything...

Ron Paul called this one to a T....I mean it wasn't too hard to see coming but I remember an interview he did on Fox News a couple years ago where they were talking about Iraq and the "success" we've had there....Ron Paul said he didn't see any success and the Fox guy was like "YOU DON'T?!?"

Ron Paul: "Ya, there's less killing now, but how did we do it? We RE-ARMED THE SUNNIS! The old henchmen of Saddam Hussein! and so-called success at what cost? A trillion dollars? Thousands of lives lost? Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's dead?"

I'm paraphrasing here, but that was pretty close to what he said- i remember the dialogue but i couldn't find the video- if anyone knows which one it is you should post iiiiit :)

What contractors?

Washington is not worried about 200 DOD Contractors in Iraq, even if they're surrounded by worse than al quaeda bad guys, because you will not hear anything about it on the evening news, therefore, it does not exist in the minds of average Joe Amerikan.
What contractors? They all left ahead of the troops...Wanna Bet?
By the way...Who is this Ron Paul guy everyone talks about on this forum? When I mentioned Ron Paul (2008 & 2012), the majority of the people did not even know who he is, or thought he was some crazy batsheet old loon.
What contractors?

Still the only voice of reason in a sea of confusion.

This side of the discussion is the only correct one. Believe it.

Whether you're in bed...

with the mafiaent or not, one thing is absolute...
you're under the bus no matter what,
it simply has to do with how quickly you find yourself there.

At least as a non-service man you may have more years to realize how necessary it always has been to refuse the machine of death, and the hell it brings to confirm it.

Father - Husband - Son - Spirit - Consciousness

Looks like a repeat of these

President Paul Has Spoken !

Major "Blowback" for past aggressions in Iraq.
Thank U.S. politicians for any Americans killed or wounded over there.

beesting

We are arming Al Qaeda as the Iraq Army fades

I think we need to spike as much military hardware as possible! I mean its crazy-- now ISIS has troop transports and the like and who knows, maybe artillery. Dont we have an interest in seeing that the hardware we gave Iraq doesnt land directly in the hands of ISIS?

Sadly, almost no one who

Sadly, almost no one who hears Ron Paul in this USNews article will understand any of the real history or what he is even talking about. We can only hope that it may key one or two more to want to find out.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

Now that the Musloids

Don't have Americans or christens to fight .There just going back to killing each other. Nothing new under the sun here folks. There was a reason Sadam kept them under control. You see now what happened since he been gone. Any group that treats woman worse than dogs. Believe in 99 virgins when Martyred. Let the storngest group win. They will still sell oil to the highest bidder . Put that in your peace pipe.

You are a Fox News watching idiot

You are a Fox News watching idiot

I just received this

from a friend of mine who is former military:

There are approximately 200 DOD contractors surrounded at Balad Airforce Base in Iraq. They are holding off the terrorists as most of the Army and Iraqi security force have fled. The US Air Force (and rest of the military) is in stand down mode.

I hate to say it but this is Benghazi on steroids.

It is time to rescue these people Now, _ by tomorrow morning I suspect it will be too late.

________

If we, as the American people, don't do something soon, it's going to be too late for the United States.

the real question is

why are 200 dod contractors still in Iraq?

I believe we still have

Blackwater personnel in Iraq. There are military soldiers there guarding the 1 billion dollar monument to political egos in Baghdad.

So Obama should leave them to die

just like he did in Benghazi? That is cold.

WOW!

I don't believe

anything is being done to rescue these people. One thing is for sure, the sociopaths in Washington can't blame it on a protest caused by a youtube video or any other lame excuse. Too many people would see right through the deception. I wonder what's going to happen to the billion dollar embassy built in Baghdad to honor their egos?

Talk about a detached president:

A senior Air Force official in Afghanistan said air bases there and across the Middle East expect 'contingency plans' in the next 72 hours

Obama could have airstrikes underway in 24 hours, according to one retired general

The president is traveling to North Dakota for a Sioux tribal event, and his national security adviser is not with him

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2657229/U-S-launch-a...

His national security adviser

His national security adviser is not with him? Damn, if only there was a way people could communicate other than in person.

It fits a pattern.

When Obama circumvented congress and sent US military personnel into Libya, he took off for Brazil.

"More than two and a half years after President Barack Obama delivered a speech in Brasilia, Brazil, to reveal that he had unilaterally ordered the U.S. military to intervene in Libya’s civil war in order “to protect Libyan civilians” and enforce “the writ of the international community”

When our people were under attack in Benghazi, Obama was resting up for a full day of fundraising.

By the evening of that next day, Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama was jetting off to a campaign fundraiser in Las Vegas, followed by parties with Jay-Z and Beyonce. Chris Stevens was already out of sight, out of mind.

With Iraq going down the tubes, and 200 American contract employees of the DOD under attack, Obama is in North Dakota at an Indian festival. Picture the phone ringing in the middle of the night...do you honestly believe Obama is going to answer?

Say goodbye to those mercenaries.

Doesn't look like they will be making any trips to the Bundy Ranch anytime soon.

Heartless and cold, you think?

Methinks these are the bastards that would also kill you and I for 30 pieces of silver.

Future mercenaries should rethink any Blackwater plans they might have.

The government, nor blacksewerwater will help them now. They are the pawns of war kissassinger spoke of.
