Besides, minimal state

Besides, minimal state supporters who believe it's achievable through the political process need anarchist libertarians so that your minimalist candidates can appear to be moderates and thus become electable.

So trying to convince anarchists that minimal government is more desirable is actually counterproductive to your cause. If there were no anarchists, you'd be unelectable extremists.

Why are some people consumed by a debate between minimal state or no state when they know full well that neither is going to happen?

There are plenty of places with minimal states and no state.

And a long future. If it was impossible for either, then it would be pretty pointless to discuss.
