Jackals, Hyenas and a Sleeping Lion for Consideration and Comment.

As long as I think of the sleeping masses as the lion in this allegory, I continue to have hope for the future.

Christopher Walken's great motivational speech ("You watch those nature documentaries on the cable?") from "Poolhall Junkies":

Say, what? LOL

That went right over my grey haired head but, it did make me smile.

lol. it's just an old pop-'cultural' reference; while Walken has

made a catalog full of great films, more recently, at least pop-'culturally' speaking, he's probably cited more in context of a Saturday Night Live skit, where he plays a music producer who interrupts a fictitious recording session of "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult, and all he does is comes in and breaks: "[need] More Cowbell"!

I love the attitude!

Thanks for explaining that to me. It's the attitude he does so well that makes it hysterical!

Nonna's Comments Deserve Reposting Here....

....they truly "nail it":

"If the sleeping American people (a.k.a. Sheeple) can be seen as the lion, and the TPTB elites and the MIC as the jackals and hyenas, then the day may come when Americans will remember who they are and remind the rest of the world of that great spirit. That gives me hope that maybe once the masses all over the earth have had enough, they will wake up and put an end to the madness."

Well said friend... I cannot improve upon that....

So glad to see you back, sharkhearted!

I appreciate that you chimed in on this post. I'm happy you liked it and hope to see you here again on DP more often.

Got it thanks, great speech by Walken

and it shows us that not everyone has the heart of a lion so it will take a process of awakening the sheeple masses to follow those who do have the courage and fighting fiber. The movie Misssissippi Burning took us through the stages which ended in the ‘politically straight’ William DaFoe realizing his FBI training manual wasn’t enough to nab the murderers of the civil rights workers. Finally after seeing the dirty deeds of the perps he swings his support over to Gene Hackman’s badass ways and together they get the job done. The movie provided a metaphor of what it may take to unseat TPTB at their own game, a further validation of the lion’s killer prowess in the end. Enjoyed your metaphor post, and it tweaked my movie recollection memory base.

Rise And Rise Again, Until Lambs Become Lions

http://youtu.be/n75PgMSxAOw ...look what they do to the Lionheart! ;D

That is one scenario I don't want to see us in.

It won't end well for us that way. They "out gun" us by centuries of technology. Violence won't work in our favor.

“It is the food which you furnish to your mind that determines the whole character of your life.”
―Emmet Fox

Even Walken says...

"That lion gets up and tears the shit out of everybody!"

"Eats everything in its path!"

Walken attempts to express how bad-ass violent the lion becomes.

Okay, so it's a metaphor! :D

Here's the better Robin Hood clip for you [and me]...

http://youtu.be/if34bKbBqXI

Not exactly. He was talking about the lion, being true to

his nature as the king of the beasts, reminding the rest of the jungle animals who he is.

I never intended this post to advocate for violence. Rather, it was my intention to remind the American people who they are: WE, THE PEOPLE; not kings, but our true nature is to be in charge of our country.

“It is the food which you furnish to your mind that determines the whole character of your life.”

Yes, Nonna...

...in charge of "OUR" Country.

"Look what they do for the lion heart"

at 1:52 minutes. bump!

"for" -that's it!

Kinda redirects the "they" reference a bit. :D

It was tricky

I had to replay it several times before getting it right.:D

cue and cue again

Who da lions? WE da lions! :D

high...

Does anyone get the connection?

Nothing to add?

“It is the food which you furnish to your mind that determines the whole character of your life.”
―Emmet Fox

Yup, see above,

I misplaced my comment.

It's a superb connection!

I didn't make that clear in my previous comment I guess. The context in which you've placed it is the impetus of what inspires me about it here. I think it's happening. I can feel it. It's not just me and you, but I sense that the masses at large are tiring of the jackyls' nipping at our toes...

http://youtu.be/gILYTdqqCo0 ............ "Let's get to it!"

Then doesn't that give you

hope?

BTW, thanks for the bump!

That actually moves me beyond

That actually moves me beyond hope. :)

To a junkie it is sleep from which to awaken.
It is the pivot between retreat and advance.
