Massachusetts Judge Orders Justina Pelletier To Be Returned To Her Parents

http://youtu.be/qi7gMXbYcGI

After spending sixteen months under the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, a Massachusetts judge has ordered that 16-year-old Justina Pelletier will be officially returned to her parents in Connecticut Wednesday.

Benswann.com began following the story of Pelletier last November, when it was discovered that Boston’s Children’s Hospital had been holding her against the will of her parents for nine months. The custody battle began when Pelletier was taken to Boston’s Children’s Hospital for flu symptoms after receiving long-term treatment at Tufts Medical Center for mitochondrial disease.

Doctors at Boston’s Children’s Hospital challenged the diagnosis of mitochondrial disease and diagnosed Pelletier instead with somatoform disorder, which is a psychological disorder. Pelletier’s parents, Lou and Linda, disagreed with the new diagnosis and treatment, which included halting the use of several medications that Justina had been prescribed. Lou and Linda were frustrated by the decision of Boston’s Children’s Hospital, which was made without the involvement of Pelletier’s specialist who had been treating Justina for over a year.

Lou Pelletier: Learning from Justina’s situation, it’s not an isolated thing, it’s happening in every state in the country. Hospitals, a long time ago, figured out the Health and Human Services rulings, if somebody is a ward of the state, under DCF control, or even a foster child, that hospital can do research on them with no consequences.

Government in the U.S. could

Government in the U.S. could teach the "terrorists" a thing or two about torture.
This is just like Dr. Josef Mengele in Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. He was notorious for performing unscientific and often deadly human experiments on prisoners.

Am I missing something?

I have to say what happened to this poor kid is unforgivable. The doctors and people involved in this kidnapping should be in prison or at the very least, paying these people some serious restitution.

Was it ever determined what was wrong with the kid? Did they end up having to treat her for the mitochondrial disease anyway? Seems to me an important detail missing in this story. Did I miss something?

Her father is continuing to push for laws to prevent this from

happening to others.

This is one of the most sick and perverse situations ever - and to have our leadership in this state sit on their asses and do nothing is an embarrassment.

But I truly expect nothing less from the gang of thugs running this state.

Nice.

:)

The offenders should be sued

The offenders should be sued into oblivion by a team of lawyers.

Thank God,

this is very good news

The Liberty Counsel was giving me weekly updates on this

glad to hear she's finally home.

They ended up with her taken away, and now she is

paralyzed. The doctors at Tufts have reason to hope it is not permanent, however. The whole rest of the story you can find here:
