Are there any good, new documentaries anyone would like to recommend?

I like a good documentary and I know you guys will have some good recommendations.

I'll share a few that I thought were pretty good. You can find them on YouTube, Hulu or Netflix. Im also curious to know what your reviews of them are.

Ethos (With Woody Harrelson)
Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead (Joe Cross)
Hungry For Change
The Union- The Business Behind Getting High (BC BUD)
The Future of Weed: High Country (Motherboard Film)
Patriot in the Making(Ron Paul film produced by fellow DPer(EXCELLENT FILM))
Ron Paul Film
Burzynski (Exposing the FDA and Big Pharma. VERY AWAKENING STUFF)
New World Order: The Conspiracy to Rule Your Mind

You can see the types of things I'm into. I dont think all of these documentaries are just great but I've learned something in all of them.

(Tried Zeitgeist but couldn't get into it, so don't bother)

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

I use this website

They have new ones added almost every day or two and the discussions on documentaries are also very good from different people. Very neatly categorized and rated.

Other than that site, I love any Louis Theroux documentaries. Most of them are on youtube

China Blue

documentary-very hard to find free online, but keep an eye out for rebroadcast on PBS type stations: usually in the middle of the nite, lol
an excellent example of propaganda that is SAID -versus- reality of what is DONE.

Children Full of Life

Children Full of Life is an award-winning documentary about the inspirational teaching methods of Toshiro Kanamori.
Heartwarming and at times moving documentary (40 mins),
Trust me, after 5 minutes you will be hooked (Lump in throat job).

The Revolution Will Not be Televised

A 2002 documentary about the April 2002 Venezuelan coup attempt which briefly deposed Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. A television crew from Ireland's national broadcaster, RTÉ happened to be recording a documentary about Chávez during the events of April 11, 2002.

Shifting focus, they followed the events as they occurred. During their filming, the crew recorded images of the events that they say contradict explanations given by Chávez's opposition, the private media, the US State Department, and then White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer.

The documentary says that the coup was the result of a conspiracy between various old guard and anti-Chávez factions within Venezuela and the United States.

That's a very good clip. I've

That's a very good clip. I've listened to Barbara's entire 3 hour video before and it's very interesting to say the least.

To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.
e.e. cummings

I have watched it three times and will again. Th first part may turn you off, it goes deep but hang in there. In the end they offer great solutions.

That is quite the pile indeed.

Thanks for the pile!

I would have never happened across these

So far they're great. Relatively short and sweet. The key one is amazing.

I'll take my Liberty, it's not yours to give.

An amazing documentary on our war in Afghanistan in the most dangerous place on earth, the Korengal Valley.

Quite a view into the pointless nature of war. They have some nuts footage as the platoon they were with saw more combat than any documented platoon in modern military history.

Turns out one of the camera men and co director was killed by a mortar blast in Libya not too long ago :(

A must see movie that will turn even the most stone-hearted neo-con's opinion on our wasted war on terror.

a freebie

that i fell asleep (nap time) watching, but what i saw looked interesting.

i notice netflix has a doc on Harry Dean Stanton that i plan on seeing.

a shortie..

Hacking Democracy

little ag-ed, still good if not seen.
also related to yet another convenient (for k. rove & the shrub-michael connell, r.i.p.) ...death.

ps-if u are bored, the last 20 minutes or so are worth the watch.

two recommendations...

"Alone in The Wilderness" (you can find 10 minute clips of it on Youtube.) The amazing story of Dick Proeneke(sp?)
This was a PBS documentary, I think. I bought it on Amazon.

Another, more fun documentary is " Ultimate Predator" . Its the Story of Manny Puig. He makes physical contact and has interactions with big animals that can kill you. Shark rides, grizzly Bears, Alligators...and then he goes home and makes fantastic bronze sculptures of them from memory. It is on Netflix.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

I watched three YouTube clips of 'Alone in the Wilderness.' Look forward to watching the full version. Could not find 'Ultimate Predator.'
