The problem with this interview is in the end..

It makes the governor feel like this is an ambush. If our goal is smaller government (and since programs come into effect even before genuine smaller government Republicans or Libertarians take up governance), it is best to finesse an question like: "Do you favor the free market system, in which eventually the needs of the poor and destitute (who don't have a family support system) are taken care of through churches and private charity, rather than through government redistribution of wealth?" SOMEtimes libertarians don't make friends very well by how they come across, catch with 'honey (education, politeness)' not vinegar (confrontation, bad rapport), PEOPLE!~

Truth over feelings

I put truth over feelings. I and most people thought I was friendly and respectful without abandoning my commitment to the truth.

I'm INTJ, and love the logic behind these

I'm not sure if the people who are able to make it into a government office can possibly be INTJ, though.

Still, it was really enjoyable to watch.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

I really like Luis, do you Jan?

I think he would make a great VP having incredible success rolling back big government consumption. I can't think of a single person in the history of our country that ACTUALLY cut spending and waste as he did in the modern era. Can you?
So rare to even see him interviewed yet we use this opportunity to bombardment him for not going even farther than ANYONE has ever gone before.

So you hit the most home runs ever this season but you couldn't hit 100 more. Wow! What's wrong with you.

I get it Jan, it is part of what you do but how exactly did this help us in anyway? Plus making exceptions for Rand and Ron when neither of them actually have been successful in implementing the dramatic policy change we saw in Puerto Rico, the two contrasting systems and awakening on full display for his people to see. C'mon, give me a break.

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Yes I like him but he is contradicting himself

Yes I like him but he is contradicting himself and somebody has to help him see the contradiction in his thinking.

Luis did not reduce absolute spending or taxes in PR

Luis did not reduce absolute spending or taxes in PR(even though he could have) but Ron and Rand Paul did propose and argue for these reductions.

Another great one!

These never fail to entertain (and inform, for those that may suffer from similar logically contradictory statements...one would hope)

That was hilarious

Jan: We're here to stick Puerto Rico Gov. Luis Fortuno's head in a noose but he doesn't know it yet. Governor thanks for being here.

Fortuno: Thanks Jan it's great to be here.

Jan: OK we're just gonna slip this on. How's that feel?

Fortuno: Feels great Jan, thanks.

Jan: Ok so tell us about redistribution while I pull on this rope.

Fortuno: Well it's obviously wrong Jan and wait...OMG you have a rope around my neck!

Jan: MUA HA HA HA HA HA!

Fortuno: EEEEEK! I'M OUTA HERE! AAAAAAAAAGH!

Jan: This is Jan Helfield reporting live.

How Could You Ambush a Friend?

That was low. He is not a Harvard debater but he has moved his territory in the right direction. You are not going to find an elected administrator who is going to promote a voluntary society.

On the other hand, your style of questions would be fun if you were able to moderate a Presidential debate. Now that is one that I would like to see.

If not me, then who?

If not me, then who will help him see the contradiction?

Third Party Debate?

While the mainstream would never let someone like Jan moderate the Rep/Dem debate, what about one of the third party debates? Larry King can't do 'em all!

Paging Zak Carter! (if only we could "tag" people on the DP...)

Well, the thing I have to

Well, the thing I have to question is how would any of his friends NOT know what he does? I mean, if you are friends with someone, you will typically know what they do. So, if a friend agrees to go on camera and then is caught off guard, at best they are unprepared and havent paid much attention to you.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Truth over friendship

I had to make a decision right from the beginning of my career as to whether I would put truth over friendship. I chose truth but I don't go out of my way to nail ideological comrades. I won't shy away from the truth for anyone but I will stay clear of some subjects I think may dull the thrust of a person I support like Ron Paul and Rand Paul whom I interviewed to stress their positive ideas and policies.
