Russia Is Doing It – Russia Is Actually Abandoning The Dollar

Russia Is Doing It – Russia Is Actually Abandoning The Dollar

By Michael Snyder, on June 10th, 2014

The Russians are actually making a move against the petrodollar. It appears that they are quite serious about their de-dollarization strategy. The largest natural gas producer on the planet, Gazprom, has signed agreements with some of their biggest customers to switch payments for natural gas from U.S. dollars to euros. And Gazprom would have never done this without the full approval of the Russian government, because the Russian government holds a majority stake in Gazprom. There hasn't been a word about this from the big mainstream news networks in the United States, but this is huge. When you are talking about Gazprom, you are talking about a company that is absolutely massive. It is one of the largest companies in the entire world and it makes up 8 percent of Russian GDP all by itself. It holds 18 percent of the natural gas reserves of the entire planet, and it is also a very large oil producer. So for Gazprom to make a move like this is extremely significant.

Probably just gives Germany more autonomy

from the US. Russia is coaxing Europe into a stronger relationship with Russia and a weaker relationship with the USA.

BS

It is all fiat BS. Nothing real going on here.

I think its all part of the plan

The banksters want the all the nations involved in currency wars.

We've know since at least 2006 (Aaron Russo) the plans to destroy the dollar, and replace it with a regional currency.

Several years ago there were only 2 banking centers in the world...London and New York. As of 2010 Moscow has become a 3rd world banking center. This doesn't happen by accident..no they have to have the blessings of the banksters for this to take place.

Also Moscow is scooping up Silicon valley talent at fire-sale prices, so is China.

Every 250 years power is transferred from the east to the west, or West to East.

Where did your bailout money go... it went to investments in the EAST.

Russia’s Industry and Trade Ministry plans to replace US microchips Intel and AMD, used in government’s computers, with domestically-produced micro processor Baikal in a project worth dozens of millions of dollars, business daily Kommersant reported Thursday.

The Baikal micro processor will be designed by a unit of T-Platforms, a producer of supercomputers, next year, with support from state defense conglomerate Rostec and co-financing by state-run technological giant Rosnano.

looks like all this kicking from the US Regime is what it took to get lazy Russia out of bed and actually working to properly fix itself.

"Reduce the attack surface"

I remember Microsoft trumpeting this new approach of theirs, reducing the attack surface.

That they had NSAKEY already in Windows back in 2000, is evidence of their lying in this regard.

Intel, AMD, AT&T, and most of the tech giants have NSA embedded ("NSA Inside!", the new campaign! -- I'm going to make stickers and put them on all the computers at work), so it just makes sense for anyone, not just the Russians, to consider alternate chip suppliers. (Of course, other countries may have just as evil plans...)

Don't piss off the voices

Thank Obummer and Co. for pissing off the voices inside Putin's head. Don't piss off the voices.
Hey, What's that crashing sound I hear...
Obummer's Oops will be much larger and more devastating than Rick Perry's oops.
Wanna bet?
Looks like Putin will be the one to broker that future agreement between the Arabs and Israel.

TwelveOhOne's picture

Rick Perry's "oops" was calculated to make Ron Paul look bad

Ron Paul campaigned on eliminating 5 federal agencies.

Rick Perry said he wanted to eliminate three. He named two, and then couldn't name the next, which was the source of his "oops" remark.

That his initials were the same, and he was from the same state, was likely planned. (Or just taken advantage of.)

All government leaders are untrustworthy. Putin included, even if some of the goals of his country appear to be aligned with the goals of liberty. They're not; he's a statist.

Would be cool if people like John Lennon and Mother Theresa brokered agreements. Jimmy Carter, I'm on the fence about.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

Dollar will reign...Here is why

Submitted by wineguy on Sun, 06/22/2014 - 21:28. Permalink

World GDP is 75 trillion
US and EU gdp total 32 trillion
add 5 trillion from China( which because of its mercantilist economy ABSOLUTELY NEEDS THE US AND THE EU TO FLOAT THEIR EXPORT MARKET FOR DECADES TO COME) ..plus 3 trillion from Japan and and another 5 trillion from Canada Mexico and Australia and another 2trillion from the UK....That is a total GDP of 47 Trillion of global GDP that is inextricably linked to the USD....Russia has a 2 trillion economy.....DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT RUSSIA TRADING SOME OF THEIR OIL WEALTH IN EUROS will really make a difference especially when the Euro is linked so tight with the USD??
That is why the Dollar for many years to come will be the global currency accepted by all in times of fear or crisis.....watch what happens when the market drops by 30% .....Bet you 10 dollars to your one dollar that the USD rises against all major currencies....and the Ruble drops by 30 to 50% against the USD.
By the way Russia is a basket case underneath it all...the commodity boom is papering over a dysfuntional society from 80 years of wealth destruction from their commmie past.

what matters is which

what matters is which direction this is all going.

For instance, you may think that there may be a lot of ocean beneath your feet, but what matters most is if your head is sinking beneath the waves.

Which is why I think Bush went to war with Saddam

Not because of imaginary WMD's, but because Saddam was going to switch from US dollars to Euros mid- 2001. That would be a real threat to the value of our currency world wide.

This is why I think....

Since they are just changing to Euro's..

...I don't think its such a big deal. The ECB and FED can do currency swaps all they want to. In fact, it might make it easier for EU countries to "buy" some T-Bills though the back door. Now, when they start converting to something other than a Euro, things might get real interesting fast.

exactly-the Fed forces the ECB to do currency swaps or to

buy treasuries and the net effect is Russia is still taking dollars

If we opened up the "Destin Dome" for drilling ---

We would be the largest producer of Gas in the world.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.

If, by 'we', you mean...

... a totally free market, small or large, but independent companies: independent of government, no court restriction on constitutional contracts of all types, especially gold contracts, AND, companies instead held liable for their actions, through the rule of law, instead of government protectionism and corporate fascism...

... then we are on the same page. Then the flow of gas will be so large that we would return to 10 cent/gal gas, AND, $2.00/hour in silver for wages... the average working Joe and at home Mary, could buy their house in ten years or less!
