Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
Where have you been? It’s alright we know where you’ve been.
You’ve been in the pipeline, filling in time,
provided with toys and Scouting for Boys.
You bought a guitar to punish your ma,
And you didn’t like school, and you know you’re nobody’s fool,
So welcome to the machine.
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
What did you dream? It’s alright we told you what to dream.
You dreamed of a big star, he played a mean guitar,
He always ate in the Steak Bar. He loved to drive in his Jaguar.
So welcome to the machine.

Dark Side of the Moon

IMHO, the greatest album ever. But more objectively, it is the longest selling album ever in the top 100, on the charts for an amazing 741 weeks. 45 million copies sold.

Probably the album with the most bong hits done while listening to it too!

Another one from Floyd: The Dogs of War

"The Dogs Of War"
Dogs of war and men of hate
With no cause, we don't discriminate
Discovery is to be disowned
Our currency is flesh and bone
Hell opened up and put on sale
Gather 'round and haggle
For hard cash, we will lie and deceive
Even our masters don't know the web we weave
One world, it's a battleground
One world, and we will smash it down
One world ... One world
Invisible transfers, long distance calls,
Hollow laughter in marble halls
Steps have been taken, a silent uproar
Has unleashed the dogs of war
You can't stop what has begun
Signed, sealed, they deliver oblivion
We all have a dark side, to say the least
And dealing in death is the nature of the beast
One world, it's a battleground
One world, and we will smash it down
One world ... One world
The dogs of war won't negotiate
The dogs of war don't capitulate,
They will take and you will give,
And you must die so that they may live
You can knock at any door,
But wherever you go, you know they've been there before
Well winners can lose and things can get strained
But whatever you change, you know the dogs remain.
One world, it's a battleground
One world, and we will smash it down
One world ... One world "

Yep, me too and I am a girl!

Wore Rush shirts too and I had a Pat Benatar shirt I wore after I saw her in Madison Square Garden in 1984, but after sophomore year I ditched the shirts and started trying to look like a "real" girl - but I never lost my love.

Oh, By the way...

Which one's "Pink"?

That's what she said

Thanks for sharing! This brings back memories...

And even now, it elicits new perspectives that had not occurred to me before...for example, the structure in this video reminds me of the megalith from the movie 2001: A Space Odessy and then the realization that their all time greatest album was "Dark side of the moon." There is some deep symbology at work in the creative mind of Roger Waters

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds. - Bob Marley

Pink Floyd's music is flawless and Waters' lyrics are timeless
