Factions on the Daily Paul

There are factions on the Daily Paul. I would be thankful for your input, as field scientists here, to help me to identify them. I know that there are many here it would be fun to try to enumerate all the different factions on the Daily Paul.

Most vocal of late are:

- Anarchists
- Minarchists

- The Mages. These include readers of The Secret, followers of Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra, believers in crop circles, chemtrails, UFOs, Bill Hicks, Bill Cooper, The Zero Point Field and other ideas of magic.

- GOP soldiers. (The "take over the Republican Party" types.)

- 911 Truthers remains a popular faction.

- Gary Johnson for president is a faction that had its day, and now is in eclipse. Hopefully that one won't be coming back any time soon. Hopefully we won't have any candidate megaphoning going on, or at least if it does, that it is balanced.

- The Rand Paul faction is currently a popular one that overlaps many of the others. Rand is assembling his team. If you're going to be on it - really on it - you probably won't have time to hang out here.

- Cop Haters is a faction.

- Negative news posters is another one. If it is bad news - especially about a cop, or a teacher - then someone's got to make sure that it is posted on the Daily Paul. Personally, I'm tired of the bad news. It is not having the desired impact. I just feel like I'm getting bludgeoned.

- Ron Paul. Remains the biggest faction of all. Ron Paul is what we all have in common here. A point in time. A singularity.

Here is the video that a friend told me was the video that moved him to action in 2007.

- Factions on either side of Glen Greenwald & Edward Snowden. I recently shifted into the neutral zone on this one.

What other factions can you think of? What would the genealogy of DP factions look like? (How about the GOP? Lincoln was the original conservative Republican).

And whatever happened to the fantastic DIY'ers i feel like back when RP was running i would often see aquaponics and build your own freezer out of cabbage and a hole in the ground type stuff i really liked that. Or did all those people finally go off grid, if so COME BACK and tell me about it.

Good way to rejuvenate the DP lets make it a mecca for self sufficienct ling. projects and discussions INVENTIONS! really engaging stuff that'll bring good quality people in.

To Clarify some of the "Factions"...

Well, some of the descriptions seemed a little unfair, imo - this is how I see it:

First, and maybe the most insulting description:
Cop Haters?
Who HATES cops ?
The only 'group' I could think of that comes close to "opposing" (which still isn't accurate) the police are the people who film police encounters which has exposed hundreds? thousands? of police officers, CAUGHT ON TAPE, abusing their Power of Authority entrusted to them by the citizens of this country. Can you honestly label documenters as cop HATERS ? I'd call them Police Encounter Activists/Investigators or Civil Rights Defenders on the Street? Calling them "haters" is really just... hating.

9/11 Truthers?
I would think a website dedicated to peace & love would avoid the slurs invented by 'The Decepticons'. 'Truther' is a well-known slur meant to discredit the target. It's 1 step away from calling them "troofers".

Investigators ? Researchers ? Scientists ? All are more fair and more accurate.

The Mages
This seemed akin to attacking a belief - a valid belief. Imagine if this group was renamed "christians" - they follow the bible, the church, jesus -- oh and they also believe in ufo's, crop circles, and whole bunch of other crazy SH*T.

I have read the secret - I know it's background and the true principles behind it - but I don't "follow" wayne dyer or "believe in bill hicks" ? What does that mean? Is that a reference to people who think Alex Jones is really Bill Hicks ? See, it starts off with "reading a book" - and then it goes down Crazy Lane with crop circles, little alien people, and why not the flying spaghetti monster ?

I would divide "The Mages" into 2 groups:

Mages of the Light: These are genuinely good people who do not subscribe to any one major religion, yet they believe in God and make LOVE a core principle in their life.

They believe they are connected to God, that God IS Love, and they love to help others. Some believe in Astrology, Tarot Cards, & Psychic Phenomena - but they all sincerely desire to do Good Works. These are "The Secret" people, Wayne Dyer people, Jesus people, Deepak people, some Mediums, and others. They accept the possible reality of all ideas, and they are the antithesis of Skeptical, which makes some of them susceptible to deception.

Satanic Mages: These are deceptive people who mostly intend to Manipulate & Disrupt.

They usually follow Aleister Crowley, throw up Illuminati signs, and believe Lucifer is a being of "light" who only desires to fill the world with "knowledge". They are all atheists and under the guise of "humanism", they sow the seeds of Materialism, Cynicism, & Skepticism. None of them believe in Free Will. This is also your Bohemian Grove crowd, the wannabes, and the paid government trolls.

And of course, you have 2 other Major Factions:

The Atheists: The bad ones are listed above. The good ones, not included above, sincerely value Reason & Logic above Belief or Intuition. They don't intend to manipulate; they intend to be clear & objectively accurate.

The Theists: They need no introduction. They believe in God according to their specific Belief Structure. Some are individualistic and part of the "mages of the light" group, but most follow an organized affiliation such as the Major Religions. They place more importance on Belief than Logic.

I am a Ron Paul supporter, FOREVER !!

This grew into many more things over the last 7 years, but I will let you discover what additions have been made to my philosophy via my posts and comments.

Ron Paul faction for me. But

Ron Paul faction for me. But I also connect with a mix of the others as well.

The background song in that video will probably always remind me of Too Late to Apologize: A Declaration

How about the post retractor faction?

I believe strongly in no-takebacksies.

Put me down for "GOP Soldier"

I think the one thing we all agree on is our support of Ron Paul. I don't think his plan ended when he didn't win in 2012, just like it didn't end when he didn't win in 2008 or 1988. I'd love to be an anarchist because that is where my ideology truly takes me, but the reality we live in makes that difficult. That's like living in hell and wanting to be a snowball.
Ron has been at this longer than most of us and I became a "GOP Soldier" because that was the method he suggested. I know that method didn't end with the end of his campaign, so I soldier on.

Free market capitalism isn't right for America because it works better. It's right because it's free (and it works better).

Michael Nystrom's picture

Ok, good.

So why do you continue to follow Ron Paul? You think he was right?

What does he think now? What does he think about politics (we can all answer that blindfolded).

What does he think about his son. But more importantly, why?

How do you square the two?

Ron doesn't believe in

Ron doesn't believe in politics, but I think he does believe that every avenue should be tried (hence why he supports his son).

I also think that politics is but only a temporary stopgap. It can halt the breakdown temporarily, but only a spiritual awakening can really save America. That will probably only come after a collapse occurs.

Michael - neutral zone on Snowden?

You are very cerebral, Michael...so I'm curious about your opinion/investigation regarding the Snowden thing: Why are you now in the neutral zone on this?
I come to the DP, usually a few times each day, to learn what's REALLY going on in the world. This is my go-to place as you all are my friends/family in this Orwellian dystopia we're all living in...one that my real-world friends and family have a hard time discussing (they know something's wrong, but can't quite come to grips with the grand scale of the Matrix).
So, Dear Michael, please share your thoughts!!

I was pushed into neutral

I was pushed into neutral following the Sibel Edmonds interview.

On the one hand, his story CONFIRMS what other whistleblowers have shared.

On the other hand, the powers that be never let the opposition get a soapbox(as any Ron Paul supporter is aware).

Consider how few people know about Sibel Edmonds or Russ Tice or Gary Webb.

Who?

I've only been around here for 6 years now...I don't know who those people are. Can you nutshell it for me?

Hey what happened to the Anti-GMO faction

or the PRO-GMO faction I love a good debate, and I am getting rusty since I've been banned from Youtube for beating the snot out of those pro-GMO'ers!

And went about their business instead.

What you do when bugs are your business,

Government and big AG team up to kill all your bugs with GMO's? America lost 50 % of all honeybees in the past 10 years, we are just one bad winter to wipeout the rest.

No pollination no fruits, vegetables, or nuts.

Isn't defining factions a form of Division

I've seen stuff on here that I agreed with and stuff I disagreed with. Rather than focus on where we differ I would prefer to focus on where we can agree. If we ever expect to truly make change then maybe a good place to start is where we have common ground. Change the things we can, and have the courage to accept the things we can't change. There is so much that we all agree on that if we just focused on those things we can implement change. It is a waste of time to think we can change anything that is a divisive subject. I've been here for a while now. Posted a little every now and then but I spend everyday during my lunch break here. This is a great source for news and information. Keep up the good work Michael and all members of this site.

I was sort of trying to make the same point with my comment

about gays and blacks. truth be told I was surprised when I saw that none other than Michael himself posted this. It seemed unnecessarily divisive.

a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still does the quote and that works for me.

LOL I posted above before I

LOL I posted above before I read!

You forgot to mention the

You forgot to mention the faction containing those who criticize Israel, realize the white Jews aren't even Semites, and to call everyone of us an anti-Semite.

Please come join my forum if you're not a trendy and agree with my points of view.
