Picture: Happy Independence Day, Citizens.

How many felonies have you committed today?

The average professional in this country wakes up in the morning, goes to work, comes home, eats dinner, and then goes to sleep, unaware that he or she has likely committed several federal crimes that day. Why? The answer lies in the very nature of modern federal criminal laws, which have exploded in number but also become impossibly broad and vague. In Three Felonies a Day, Harvey A. Silverglate reveals how federal criminal laws have become dangerously disconnected from the English common law tradition and how prosecutors can pin arguable federal crimes on any one of us, for even the most seemingly innocuous behavior.

The volume of federal crimes in recent decades has increased well beyond the statute books and into the morass of the Code of Federal Regulations, handing federal prosecutors an additional trove of vague and exceedingly complex and technical prohibitions to stick on their hapless targets. The dangers spelled out in Three Felonies a Day do not apply solely to “white collar criminals,” state and local politicians, and professionals. No social class or profession is safe from this troubling form of social control by the executive branch, and nothing less than the integrity of our constitutional democracy hangs in the balance.

sure is great to have to work

sure is great to have to work the rest of our lives to pay the taxes which supports the all volunteer troops in over 100 countries defending our freedom

Our lil town got notice about noon yesterday

(and by notice I mean signs on town hall and one convenience store) that citizen would not be "allowed" to shoot fireworks after 6 p.m. due to "disturbing the peace". I was aghast/stymied for several hours over the development as I countlessly and quizzically asked town folk "have you ever attended a 'daylight fireworks display'?" The threat was: county cops would come out and a "a large fine" would be imposed. LOL, these petty baby tyrants think they can write "policy" on a freakin' cocktail napkin and it becomes "law"!!

No one paid attention and the cops never came.

They know who you are.

I've got news for you guys. The government has already successfully attached all the provisions of the Real ID act onto your driver's license. It is your de-facto Real ID card. Google it.

Average Americans blatantly ignoring laws...

another reason I still enjoy Independence Day every year.

I live on the top of a hill in a So Cal town and from my roof I have a 300deg view for miles. For over an hour last night I witnessed 100s of my neighbors, near and far, blatantly and loudly ignore the no fireworks laws.

Awesome show last night! Thanks fellow Americans displaying your freedom, with a bang.

Now, don't forget....

They hate us because we're free!! LOL
This is all part of the conditioning...getting us used to obedience and random searches. We are now just months away from a "papers please"-type of society. I would look for a false-flag event at two or more of these road block scenes as a means to usher-in a national ID mandate. After that, we'll go to the Rockefeller-recommended implanted chip as explained in "Freedom to Fascism". This party is just getting cranked up, folks.

This sudden "invasion" of

This sudden "invasion" of "illegal aliens" with diseases! taking our jobs looks like the perfect false-flag to get the frightened among us in the "home of the brave" to clamor for a "papers please" society.

Come on now

I know which ones I commit.

Mourning On the Fourth of July

Your picture is symbolic of the proper course of action on the 4th of July. Over the past century, true patriots should have been publishing pictures just like this one. Where are the pictures of TSA checkpoints? Where are the pictures of thousands of illegal aliens streaming across the border? Where are the pictures of beatings by police? Where are the pictures of the NSA facility in Utah which will be used to spy on innocent Americans? Where are the pictures of Detroit, MI? Where are the pictures of the FEMA camps?

Over the past century, the USA should have been mourning on the 4th of July, not celebrating.

I read it - sounds like the blueprint for the U.S.

they must have recycled it for E. Ukraine.

I quit celebrating

Independence Day a long time ago. Now I mourn the 4th of July. Ain't no freedom nowhere.

Me too

I used to tack a Declaration of Independence on the courthouse and cop shop door, don't even bother anymore.

I'll watch the fireworks from my back yard while doing chores. Yawn!
