Why is the Daily Paul all Men?

Im just curious but if i had to guess, men outnumber woman 9 to 1 or more on the DP (this is what I have approximated). Why do you think this is so? Do you find men to be more liberty minded than woman? Or is this a "good ol' boys club"

I never see 95% naked men - only women - and as a woman I do find it offensive but I appreciate the info found here so I scroll by them quickly - especially when my 18 year old son is reading with me.

I don't know

why there is such a gender gap, but there is also a huge gender gap in the republican party as well. I think there are a lot more of us than most people appreciate. I tend to lurk, mostly just reading, and occasionally commenting, but I'm 53, so I don't think there's a generation gap.

Jon took all the females.

They are all over here.

He is a ladies man. That might surprise some of you, being that he is so quiet and all. However, there is proof in the pudding and there has been great support for Jon's game from the female faction at the Daily Paul. He lured them with his wizardy wordy type ways.

What can we learn from Jon? Probably a lot, but the moral of this story is; girls just wanna have fun and sometimes some of the DP threads are a little....well....not so much fun, just every now and then.

But anadrome is always fun. Mostly. Usually. 9.8 times out of 10, anadrome is fun.

I love it when he talks, ya know...

"tech." Plus there's something else. In fact, he just did it again (blush, blush). Here's my most recent "Completed Games" tally:

Walter K
I won!

Jen D
I won!

I won!

I lost.

Yeah, he prevented four wins in a row, what I could otherwise think of as a nice little winning streak again my regular opponents - all of whom have recently beat me. Thanks (I <3) Jon!

Ha! Talk techy to me....It's kinda like a song

Yeah, boy does my face get red when he beats me all the time always except maybe 3 or 4 times. I wouldn't say I'm blushing per se..... but yeah....something like that.

Men like to fight

And women prefer not to.

We are all soldiers in this information war, men and women. But you may as well ask, "Why are most warriors men?" Why do you think? :) We are more competitive and combative than women. And thank God for that.

As Bob Marley said:
So who's gonna stay at home
When - when the freedom fighters are fighting?

I can answer that question

I can answer that question right from the mouth of a woman I became very close with. We hung together quite a lot and her young daughter even started calling me "Daddy". One evening she invited me to diner to inform me she was getting married to some other guy she was seeing that I didn't know anything about. After breaking this news to me she looked me in the eyes and said, "David, you are like a brother to me so I'm going to tell you this one thing I want you to remember, women are Satan on Earth. Never trust them." And by God, looking at my entire life up to this point, I have not been able to prove her wrong. There must be a few exceptions out there but I haven't come across one yet.

satan is old hebraic for adversary.

In the book of Job the idea was anthropomorphed into a Satan walking too and fro on the earth.

People of all sorts choose to be adversaries; tempting, scorning and jeering for pleasure.

What can be said for someone that chooses to be narcissistic and sadistic.

I's a pity.

if by Satan you mean "eternal delight"

then I agree with you

"All Bibles or sacred codes have been the causes of the following Errors.
1. That Man has two real existing principles Viz: a Body & a Soul.
2. That Energy, call'd Evil, is alone from the Body, & that Reason, call'd Good, is alone from the Soul.
3. That God will torment Man in Eternity for following his Energies.

But the following Contraries to these are True

1. Man has no Body distinct from his Soul for that call'd Body is a portion of Soul discern'd by the five Senses, the chief inlets of Soul in this age
2. Energy is the only life and is from the Body and Reason is the bound or outward circumference of Energy.
3 Energy is Eternal Delight"

I'm a woman

I'm a woman and visit the DailyPaul at least once a day. I do very rarely comment though. I spend my time here reading and watching the video's. I save my energy for changing minds of those who are not like minded. Most of the women I encounter during my daily life are very receptive to information I throw out to them. Actually, now that I think about it... I wonder if this has happened to anyone else.? What I have noticed about this wonderful group of folks is, they are informed and willing to share their knowledge; passion I say, we are passion addicts, and it's contagious. Have you noticed others, who do not follow current events or politics, as often as you, coming to you regularly for news and opinion. 2012 election I ended up writing a list that was photocopied an passed out around the office of who I was voting for and the reason for the vote.

I think the ladies are just busier.

Even though it's 2014 and men help out at home more than their dad's and grandfathers, married with children both working outside home couples, bulk of housework, childcare and shopping still falls mostly on the female.

This amusing video presentation by Mark Gungor

has more truth in it than a first blush impression may offer.

Mark Gungor – Men’s Brain Women’s Brain - YouTube

A brain imaging expert reports that the woman’s brain is more active than the male’s brain in both the ‘CEO part of the brain,’ the prefrontal cortex, and the hippocampus based on a study called SPECT. Although she may not be reading or posting comments on the DP as voluminously as her male counterparts, this does not mean she is not liberty minded, activist oriented or doing things to change the world. I take it she is likely thinking and emoting about a number of things over the course of a day that make the political or geopolitical landscape of the DP a part but not as large a focus as it is with the men although I would like to see stats before passing judgment about the actual number of men vs. women on the DP. Also, it stands to reason that a woman’s more active empathetic side can weigh her down emotionally and physically if she isn’t adept at balancing her own needs with taking care of everyone else. Having personally observed the stronger worry factor with my fellow women friends, I do not go down the rabbit hole as much with them as they tend to be more actively involved with caretaking tasks, helping others (volunteering) and worrying about family. They are, however, just as concerned as men about what’s going on in the world and just as apt to show their support and activism when I point out the need for it.

Just Guessing

I'm not sure how you came up with your guess, but where I live, I would guess liberty minded women out number liberty minded men. Perhaps they simply don't subscribe to the DP.

Then it could be due to many women thinking they have been suppressed politically and economically, and they simply haven't broken out of their apathy yet.

Regardless, we are all after the same thing, with or without women or Blacks or homosexuals. As we strive to regain our liberty, all will benefit - men and women, Whites and Blacks, Heterosexuals and Homosexuals, etc. So who cares if one group is not as well represented as other groups. I believe we are all after liberty for all.

Liberty is liberty. Founding fathers didn't get it perfect, but we're working on it.

Im going to echo a few other posters here

One of the reasons I love Ron Paul is the level of class he has. He's very forthright and to the point in his reasoning but never delves into name-calling. He has perfected the art of disagreeing without being disagreeable which is rare thing and something I greatly appreciate in people. Unfortunately on the forums here, a lot of people don't understand or don't care about how they deliver the message and it's a huge turn-off. I had a hiatus from this site for a good while because it saps my energy to read a constant barrage of negativity in the comments. Im back now, but between school and taking care of the house, I mostly just browse and don't really contribute to the forums.

Why is the Daily Paul all Men?

NOT everybody involved in The Daily Paul is male! I am confident there are many women equally disturbed with our political system. With that said, I believe most women are to busy with telephone calls, gossip over what movie star is sleeping with whom, shopping, trips, going to the day spa, hairdresser or nail technician.

95% plus of the women I try to communicate with on politics and world events will have their eyes immediately glaze over and they return to the safety of everyday conversation with a girlfriend.

Before those women who do care and participate get your tail in a knot their are also lots of males out there who can tell you exactly what the last basketball game score was but they can't even answer the simplest of questions on politics or world events.

It's why we fail folks. Everyday I hope for change but every day it seems to stay the same.

I'm a mom too; two grown kids, one grandchild. Many women don't make a big deal about their gender in the forums. Perhaps libertarian women don't stereotype so much as the general populace?

women are consumerists

I am in advertising and 85 to 90% of all households, women are the decision makers on shopping. They're too busy buying junk; shoes, kids clothes... blah blah... they SHOP. Which leaves them no time to see the destruction of the world they helped create. Now, if the DP had a store... hmm.......

When did common sense become a super power?

Oh well that would just make it more obvious.

Prices UP UP UP quality DOWN DOWN DOWN. Can hardly find anything made in America and all the little kids' clothing has symbols on it........

Beats me

My wife doesn't like sifting through info

My wife and I found Ron Paul together. She's as much or more of a Ron Paul fan than I am. However, she doesn't enjoy filtering through a bunch of information. So that's my job. I share the little bits of information that I think she'll be interested in. Then she shares it on Facebook. I also report relevant things to my kids. We have more girls than boys so maybe the next generation will be different. Anyway, I won't get into any stereotypes but just wanted to share how it works in our family.

Politics is

all about stereotypes which tend to be the generally accepted public view of a group, being used both for division and coordination. Understanding them and realizing fact from fiction shouldn't anger anyone if the aim is to inject more logic and reason into government.
