No matter what happens, we

No matter what happens, we can always be confident that one thing remains constant... that Hannity always has been and always will be an asshat.

Why does Hannity feel he is

Why does Hannity feel he is part of the debate? He turns the interview with Rand into a debate in which Hannity feels his own opinion matters and we must hear it???? He's as bad as that obnoxious English guy, Morgan, who ran his show doing the same thing.

I wonder how many tools

FAUX has sitting around the round table rehearsing strategy in anticipation of getting that one "Gotcha" moment on Rand. Hanity must feel like he's practicing for a presidential debate prior to having Rand on & still gets owned in the end !

Ron Swanson

Of course they are, that's

Of course they are, that's what they do.

He should have started his

He should have started his response with, "The American people, 75% of whom are with me on this, so Rick Perry is in essence, going against the interests of America"...when he starts delving into the nitty-gritty from the get-go, he loses the average Joe's attention and does not leave him convinced. You need strong, witty, but short slogans to counter Perry's delinquent one-liners.

As soon as Rand gets rolling...

"I gotta say goodbye, thank you for being with us..."

To Hannity’s “You gotta fight and win”

@3:20 minutes, I think Rand adequately impugned that thought with the idea that it’s easier said than done by asking “How long is it going to take?” plus elaborate on the details. I liked the way the discussion ended.
Neocons oversimplify the notion of winning, and Rand’s strategy to nip that idea in the bud shows an arsenal of studied and thoughtful comebacks.

FOX's strategy...

Buddy up to Rand Paul right now to stay relevant; then once the election comes trash him.

I think Rand is savvy enough to get this but I hope he has a good plan if he actually wants to win the election. His dad withstood all the bad press and was still going strong until they stole Iowa from him... I kind of have feeling we are gonna see history repeat itself and they will blame it on his foreign policy just like his dad. Good luck Rand.

Glad somebody remembers Iowa.

Glad somebody remembers Iowa. So awful...

I haven't made a political

I haven't made a political comment here for quite a while, I took a long break and am still on break from the movement. With that said, I feel the need to make this statement. As someone pointed out, many of you here are not Rand's audience, He is trying to appeal to a much broader audience and he is doing very well in that approach.

You may not want to hear this but he has gained more positive attention than his father ever has with the media and the people that didn't support his father. He is trying a different approach and it is working, he is polling better than Ron ever has with the brain dead sheep of america, do many of you not see this? Do you really think that Ron and Rand don't talk? Did you ever think that maybe this was their plan all along?

Rand is making headway and appealing to the american zombie that believes everything the media tells them. Yes you are not Rand's audience, and the comment about you're right and i'm wrong ego trip is 100% spot on. You don't convince people to listen to you when you come at them in a combative manner. If you want to educate you need to be patient and explain things, not belittle people, don't say you are not guilty of this, I am also guilty of it and it is a failed strategy, this is exactly why Ron polled so little in the last 2 elections and Rand is polling so much better, my god guys he is leading the entire pack of hand picked candidates, does that not tell you something?

It tells me Rand is smart and doing it right. There are entirely too many know it all's on this site and it turns people off. Be patient with people, don't yell at them or belittle them and I assure you that you will gain much more headway, how do I know? I changed my ways and it works, I am reaching many more people now with a non combative approach then I ever did being angry at them for not getting it in the first sentence, than I ever did in the last 2 elections.

We agree with each other 98% of the time on most issues but we spend 98% of the time bitching complaining and arguing about the 2% we disagree on, this is why nothing gets done. forget about the 2%, let's focus on the 98%, get the job done and worry about the 2% later.

I kept telling for a while

Rand knows how to play the "Game of Thrones".

The last paragraph

I was told before,a long, long time ago here.
But for the life of me, I can't remember whom that was :)
Maybe Eric Hoffer can assist?

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

I swear there was this one guy, beacon? Idk, can't remember his exact name. We'd get in some pretty vocal arguments about a few things, but it turned out we mostly agree and spent a lot of time beating on each other over the 2%.

Wonder how that guy has been lately, hoping he's been doing well.

All is as should be, my friend, hope you can say the same thing.

lol Eric.

lol Eric.

Rick Perry?

...trying to match wits with Rand? He lost before he got started. Perry should just be happy that he's governor of TX, keep his mouth shut and hope no one notices him.

God forgives always. Man forgives sometimes. But Nature never forgives.

How long will it take for these people to learn to defend...

I think the question needs to be rephrased to more clearly state the intent - "When will the Iraqis learn to defend themselves against the groups that the suits in DC don't like?" For instance, they seemed to defend themselves against American occupation.

Funny how the Iraqi perspective is never sought out. I wonder what a young mother living in Baghdad would have to say about the entire debacle, for instance? To hell with what the political "leaders" have to say - regardless of their positions. What about the people?

Weak and vulnerable

Rand, you looked rather weak and vulnerable with Hannity.
What's going on here?
If you keep this ...."let me explain" then you are going to be handicapped before the 2016 race gets underway.
MSM will eat your lunch....let me play a clip where you said this, or that, etc. etc. David Gregory is waiting in the wings to cook your goose.
Geez, Man...I am so sick and tired of politicians trying to make everyone happy by saying the "right" things. Reminds me of teachers at a parent conference, telling mom or dad what they want to hear.
Did I detect a slight quiver in your voice?
Please BE STRONG, OK. Stop being so damn wishy washy,
If you keep this up, you might as well give Perry the concession speech already.

Hannity was disappointing.

why is rand so intimidated by the chicken hawk, general lover, hannity?
he looked like he was close to some kind of a breakdown.

He has a nervous laugh like

He has a nervous laugh like his father. They both need to knock it off. It's horrible in debates. It makes them look like 'know it all's' (even though in my mind they both know more than most) but that shouldn't be their goal. Educate but don't look so damn smirky and condescending!!

I never saw those traits you describe in ron; his confidence in his principles always came through. maybe hannity is rand's nemesis, and he should just avoid that show.

... love your enemies... do good to them that hate you.... bless those who curse you...

... oh, and all these warmongers are also most particular about their pro-life stance and will absolutely only vote for a pro-life candidate... the same ones who go to Congress and vote for a $524 million appropriation for Planned Parenthood (in 2012, more than $300 million in 2011, etc.). Planned Parenthood ran a surplus of $87 million in 2012... and, by the way, pro-lifers, Planned Parenthood net asset value is a mere $1.2 billion, which they employ to execute over 300,000 innocents every year... so much for voting for pro-life candidates... Gary Johnson won't give a brass penny of taxpayers' money to Planned Parenthood, but then you can't vote Libertarian, because Johnson is pro choice and, heaven forbid, he is also anti-war!

Rand is too wishy washy and

Rand is too wishy washy and tries way too hard to please everyone... do what your dad did, stand your ground and be clear about it..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

And already they are attacking him pretty hard.

With his wishy washy ways he is already making a lot of stir. So it seems to be working pretty well.

Remember we are not Rand's audience. He does not talk to us.

For him, it would not make sense to talk like Ron talks.

"Air is the very substance of our freedom, the substance of superhuman joy....aerial joy is freedom."--Gaston Bachelard--

I wish I could up-vote you more than once.

"We are not Rand's audience. He does not talk to us."

He saw what his father had to deal with and how he, in practical political terms, got nowhere. It's time to take libertarianism off of the message boards and into the U.S. government.

NOTE: I am not advocating violence in any way. The content of the post is for intellectual, theoretical, and philosophical discussion. FEDS, please don't come to my house.

Profound observation!

We Libertarians can be easily disappointed by Rand's apparent lack of courage and boldness to verbally defend principle, but he knows that approach had limited and known success in 3 his father's 3 attempts at the presidency.

So Rand is trying another approach: to speak in a way to not scare off the brain dead, propagandized zombie millions who are all about us, many of them good people, they've just been programmed. So he's trying to use their language and stay away from trigger words their brains have been programmed with which trigger the non fact based reaction, "He's a kook and radical."

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

Yes, people tend to forget

Yes, people tend to forget this. This is exactly right. We are not his audience. The loud "I'm right and you are wrong" way has never worked well in convincing people. I imagine some of you have encountered that as well on these boards if the faction thread was anything to judge by.

When we want Rand to be "strong", it's actually our inner desire to proclaim to the world (with Rand as a proxy) that we are the ones who are right and they are the ones who are wrong. It's ego tripping and it does NOT advance the cause.
